The Jellyfish 2.0 by Uberrime is a dildo reincarnation: a sea creature floating up from the depths of time.
The original Jellyfish sex toy was the brainchild of a small indie operation called Whipspider Rubberworks. When Whipspider closed about five years ago, the Jellyfish was no more—until Uberrime Dildos recast and reimagined the first Jellyfish. The new Jellyfish dildo creation was designed to be different from its predecessor in all these ways:
Softer silicone. The fantasy silicone dildo market is still young, but it’s boomed within just the past two years—and fantasy makers have received more and more feedback about customer preferences—like dildo firmness!
Uberrime’s Jellyfish 2.0 is cast from a fairly soft 5-Shore silicone, making it easy to bend in half with one hand. It’s hard not to squish and manipulate the Jellyfish 2.0 when I’m holding it—but it’s not so squishy that the head leaves me wanting more G-spot pressure.
Smoother—but still textured—shaft. Some of the original’s gritty shaft texture has been smoothed out. Epiphora, who loved the original Jellyfish, said about the older model, “If you don’t use enough [lube], it could feel like rug burn in your vagina.”
Yikes! I love my textured toys, but I do have limits. Especially when I start thrusting the Uberrime Jellyfish 2.0 harder, I’m grateful that all its wavy lines aren’t any more intense. They look bad-ass, rippling up and down the shaft. But especially toward the base, I’m already applying a generous helping of hybrid Sliquid Silk lube so the texture doesn’t get irritating as I move this dildo.
The Uberrime Jellyfish 2.0 is so stimulating to twist and turn around in a half-circle motion. My vaginal mouth and inner labia really feel all the toy’s bumps and drips. But I always go back to thrusting at some point because of the mushroom head.
Wider and plainer head. Is it a jellyfish, a penis, or a mushroom? Why not all three? is the name of the game with Uberrime’s Jellyfish dildo. This dildo’s corona extends about a quarter inch outward from the shaft in all directions. The shaft itself is an average thickness, 1.5″ diameter. But the big ridge on top is nearly 6″ around / 1.9″ diameter. It’s the most protruding ridge I’ve met since the Tantus Steam Hunk.1
The shape of the Jellyfish’s ridge really makes it pop against my pubic bone with each thrust. The transition between head and shaft is abrupt—comfortably rounded, but very dramatic. Like the large Splendid Dual Density Dildo by Uberrime, it’s a lot of impact!
And Jellyfish 2.0’s head is all smooth, with no texture—unlike the original Whipspider toy. The contrast with the über-busy shaft fascinates me. Because the silicone is soft, I can bend the wavy shaft, grinding it against my vulva, while I get all the G-spot stim that the mushroom head has to offer. It’s my favorite kind of dual stimulation.
It GLOWS. The body-safe glow-in-the-dark pigment is the turquoise part: the whole head plus drippy trails down the shaft. I’ve sat with my Jellyfish in my dark bedroom, imagining its glowing body drifting through the ocean depths. It’s so fun as a visual experience. And the more the Jellyfish 2.0 is exposed to sunlight, the more it glows when you’re in a really dark space.
I can only describe Uberrime toys as “orgasm art,” because every piece I’ve received has been both usable and beautiful to look at. (See all my Uberrime reviews here.) As fun as the glowing part is, I’m usually looking at this toy in the light, and the colors. They speak for themselves. (Also, there’s glitter!)
Overall Thoughts
The Uberrime Jellyfish 2.0 is a gorgeous fantasy dildo that I think is much more suitable than its predecessor for anyone who’s new to textured toys. The swirls down the shaft are incredibly stimulating both when I’m thrusting and twirling this dildo. And as someone who’s pretty sensitive, I appreciate Jellyfish 2.0’s softer silicone density. The softness is most fun in the toy’s smooth head, whose mushroom shape calls to my G-spot when I’m looking for a big POP with every thrust.
I’d recommend it to anyone who:
- Likes soft & textured fantasy dildos
- Enjoys toys with very big heads
- Wants more dildo art in their life
- Would have fun waving a glowing sea creature around in the dark!
But not to folks who:
- Prefer toys that start small and taper outward
- Aren’t comfortable with above-average girth or large ridges
- Like smooth toys
- Need firm stimulation
