Best Prostate Dildos & Vibes, Butt Plugs, & Anal Toys for Men: Male Toys Guide pt. 2

Male Sex Toys Pt 2 prostate dildos, prostate vibrators, butt plugs

Anal play is an amazing way to explore your body. Maybe you’re curious and looking to buy your first butt plug or prostate dildo/vibrator. (You may have even heard how prostate stimulation can make you shoot harder and longer.) Or perhaps you’ve owned toys before and are looking for better—and/or bigger.

Wherever you’re at, I’ve tried to include male sex toys for every experience level and budget, based on my review and testing sessions—solo and with partners.

My best anal toys for men list include prostate toys; prostate dildos and thrusting toys; anal plugs (start here if you’ve never played with your butt before); and anal beads, plus helpful tools like a lube shooter. I’ll conclude with anal-friendly lubes, which are essential for comfortable butt play. All toys listed are made of nontoxic, nonporous materials, and links are to discreet, reputable sellers. —Guide by AllMaleSexToys.com

Best Prostate Toys & Prostate Massagers

A few inches inside the hole lies the prostate, a gland that—when stimulated—can produce intense pleasure. Prostate play alone can be exceptional, depending on your body and experience level; but pairing prostate stimulation with penis stimulation is almost certain to bring you stronger, longer orgasms.

For most, the prostate is close enough to reach with a probing finger, but using these sex toys can take your prostate play to the next level. Unsure of where your prostate is and need a hand locating it? Check out this interesting and informative video.

Njoy Pure Wand — The Pure Wand is a superior dildo for prostate orgasm, one of the best toys around for grinding your P-spot. Sure, it’s heavy, hard, and fairly huge—but the balls on either end will do a number on your spot that will likely have you leaking precum in no time. Lubricate either end of the Pure Wand and ease it in gently. Once you find your prostate pleasure zone, either manipulate the dildo using the other end as a handle, or simply bear down on the bulb with your anal muscles. Be sure to check out the Pure Wand Technique Guide I contributed to for more how-to tips.

📖 Felicity’s note: The Pure Wand is often called the “Njoy G-spot wand,” but did you know Njoy’s founder Greg actually designed the toy for prostate stim??

Aneros Helix Trident — Whether you’re just curious about prostate play or a seasoned pro, you may have heard about Aneros. They make a bunch of different prostate massagers that are sleek and simple, designed to work with the body’s own anal clenching mechanism, which in turn will deliver a subtle—yet effective—massage to your prostate. I’m touting one of their newest—Helix Syn Trident (black & red)—because it’s a nice size for most users, coated in body-safe silicone, and the Trident is designed to work even better with your own anatomy and anal muscles. Prefer to have it in smoother plastic? Go for the Helix Trident (white) instead.

🚩 NOTE: The Aneros massagers are best if you’re willing to commit to taking the time to learn the process, and use patience in getting to the desired end results. If you’re looking for a toy to do more of the work for you, read on.

Lovense Edge — The first prostate vibrator on this list, Lovense’s Edge is power-packed, with a strong motor in the head and another in the base (for external perineum stim). Backed by Lovense’s popular app, you can choose between literally thousands of patterns that other users have created. The adjustable neck lets you position Edge’s bulb in the best position for your prostate, since different bodies are, well, different. Like all Lovense toys, Edge can be controlled long-distance: the toy-owner pairs the vibe to their cell phone through the Lovense app, then sends a connection request to whoever they want to let control the vibrator. Includes full speed control, custom pattern creation, chat, and video options.

Aneros Vice 2 — The manual Progasm models are great for those who want something larger, but the Vice 2 really takes this to the next level. Not only is this newest Vice a similar shape to the chunkier Progasm, it’s also coated entirely in silicone. The best part is it’s equipped with a powerful vibrator (and remote!) that allows the user to crank up the powered stimulation whenever more than just the manual Aneros experience is desired. With an energetic bullet right near the tip, this is one of the best vibrating prostate tools I’ve tried.

Blush Supra — Another (less expensive) anal vibe that can do a delightful number on your P-spot is Blush’s Supra. It’s a short silicone anal plug that has a nice bulge at the tip that will work wonders when coupled with a powered prostate massage. A removable bullet tucks into the hollow core of the plug and delivers surprisingly robust vibrations right where you want them. Since the bullet is longer, your sensitive hole will be tickled nicely as well. At 4.25 inches, this one is well suited to anal newbies and those who want a prostate massager that isn’t quite as big as the Aneros Vice 2. Bonus points: The Supra’s bullet easily pops out and can be used on its own to tease any erogenous zone you like. (I like to use mine directly on my frenulum, which makes me cum intensely!)

SquarePegToys® Charlie Horse Milk-It — This silicone butt plug is designed for those who want a more filling anal toy, coupled with a rugged edge that’ll rub right against your prostate region. The SuperSoft (bronze) version is easier to insert (even though it squishes pretty well, you still want to use a LOT of lubricant) and remove, but the Firm Silicone Milk-It (black) will press even harder on your prostate. Despite its size, the Milk-It plug is perfect for longer sessions and even great for putting in/leaving in if you enjoy that sort of thing. Prepare to leak a lot of precum; they don’t call this one Milk-It for nothing.

Blush Impressions N5 — A vibrating dildo rather than a pure prostate massager, but it works so well, I’m including it here. The red N5 is a rigid vibrating dildo with some nice curves. It’s pretty thick, so beginners might need to work up to this one. The angled and rounded head is just amazing at kneading the prostate gland and when you click on the vibrator, don’t be surprised if you feel like you’ve just been launched into orbit! The satiny silicone makes the N5 really good for thrusting, but I like to penetrate, position the knob in just the right spot, and bear down on it until I’m losing control. Then, just when I think it can’t feel any better, I activate the vibrator. One of my favorite dildos of all time. Keep reading for even more dildo picks.

Dildos: Prostate Dildos & Overall Anal Thrusting

So it’s a dildo you want? A dildo’s a phallic substitute and a perfect way to enjoy all the things real dicks can do: penetrating a hole, thrusting, fucking, massaging the prostate, or just going deep and providing a filling sensation for the recipient. My selections are all manufactured with 100% platinum silicone, the best material for safe, non-toxic fun. In addition to being body-friendly, silicone dildos can also offer a realistic sensation, for a more lifelike experience. Here’s a look at my dildo recommendations:

Blush Neo Elite Dildos — A dual-density lineup of 4 shapes that’s very affordable: great as beginner toys. These neon-colored dildos from Blush are there for anyone who wants a realistically-shaped cock, but in brighter colors rather than fleshtones. I tried the 7.5 Incher with Balls and loved the exquisitely-shaped head and veined shaft, but the other three have their own charms.

💡 But wait there’s more! Dildos don’t have to be just dick-substitutes. Check out Blush Ergos for less-phallic dual-density toys (recommended for pegging, alongside VixSkin [next]), or the full spectrum of platinum silicone fantasy toys & their textures galore! 🐉

VixSkin by Vixen Creations — The original dual-density silicone dildos, VixSkin toys are smooth and soft for the best pounding you can take. Top picks:

  • VixSkin Mustang, a perennial favorite with a prostate-massaging head and curve. Perfect for going fast and hard.
  • Vixen VixSkin Ranger — One of Vixen’s newer super-realistic cocks. With a 7-inch total length (6.125″ insertable), this dildo has an ample head + an ultra-detailed shaft with lots of delicious texture. The deep black dual-density silicone means it looks just as good as it feels.
  • Vixen Randy Dildo — Randy isn’t the longest dildo out there (5.5″ usable), but with its thick (2.20″ max) shaft that’s smooth and slightly angled, this smooth silicone dong is perfect for prostate pleasing. The wide flared base will allow you to go all the way down on this one for some hole-opening fun.

SquarePegToys® Leo — Made of SuperSoft silicone, the Leo dildo is not only beautiful to look at, but it feels quite amazing. Actual Size” Leo measures 9 inches in length with an impressive 6” shaft circumference (7” circumference at the root). For those who want or need it bigger, there are two larger Leos (10.25” and 11.25”), but those who like the design and wish it was smaller can opt for Small or Extra-Small size (7.5” and 5.5”). With 20+ years history, all SquarePegToys® (like VixSkin) are handmade from 100% platinum-grade silicone in the USA.

All Male Sex toys guide dildo lineup
From left to right: (1) Neo Elite 7.5″ w/ Balls (average penis size, it is!); (2) VixSkin Mustang; (3) Fleshjack Brent Corrigan; (4) SquarePegToys Leo actual size (comes smaller & *larger* too); and (5) Uberrime Splendid Large (comes smaller too). (I meant to include my golden Nick Capra (discussed next!) but there wasn’t room! —Felicity)

Nick Capra from Mr. Hankey’s Toys (full selection here) — Nick’s 7” dildo is as sexy as the porn icon it was molded from. Growing thicker the deeper you go, Nick’s cock is perfect for someone who wants to be opened up with a realistic-looking dildo. This toy works well with many harnesses, and there’s even a Vac-U-Hole in the base so you can attach it to your fucking machine! Like the Leo, Nick Capra’s cock is available in two expanded sizes for those who want even more of Nick to love (10.25” and 12.25” total length). Choose between 75% Soft (very fleshy) and “Medium Firm” (slightly softer than an erection).

Fleshjack Boys & Fleshlight Guys — Remember a time when “porn star cocks” were all the rage in sex toys? No? Maybe? Well, these were big beautiful dildos that had been molded from popular porn actors. Sure, they looked hot, and who wouldn’t want to slide a perfect replica from their favorite adult star up their butt? But unfortunately many sex toy companies that make these things are still not making them in body-safe silicone. Not true of Fleshlight. Each Fleshlight dildo is packed with details from rounded cock heads, bulging shafts (completely with vascular details and other lifelike textures), and the balls, which double as an anal-safe base. Most of the newer models sport a hole in the base for an optional Suction Cup, for those who prefer to mount and ride. Here are a few of the most popular Fleshjack Boys cocks:

  • Diego Sans — One of Fleshlight’s newest porn star cocks, it’s easy to see why this one jumped to the top of the list. Diego’s a sexy hirsute Brazilian with a 7.5-inch uncut dick! His foreskin is lovingly detailed in this piece.
  • Milan Christopher — While Fleshlight has a bunch of lighter toned dildos, this beautiful 9-inch cock is perfect for someone seeking a dildo with a darker flesh tone.
  • Brent Corrigan — An early favorite, Brent’s 8.75” cock still can be found at the top of Fleshlight’s best-sellers list. Sure, it’s big, but the gradually thickening shaft has a wonderful curve to send that knob right over your waiting prostate when you start thrusting with it.
  • Kevin Warhol and Carter Dane — I’m throwing these two in not just because they are sexy guys (they are!) but because not everyone wants a big dick in their ass. Kevin’s 6-inch (4.5” insertable) and Carter’s 7-inch (5.5” insertable) are still respectable cocks for holes that desire something a bit more manageable.
  • Ryan Driller — Ryan’s 8.25-inch cock is one of my favorites. He’s a straight porn star who’s one of three “Fleshlight Guys” with his dick turned into a dildo. If you like the curve of Brent Corrigan’s cock, Ryan’s is similar, in a slightly smaller package.

Uberrime Splendid dual-density dildos — These handcrafted silicone dildos from Uberrime are ideal for someone looking for a nice phallic shape, without so much realistic detail. The head is swollen and rounded, the shaft is slightly curved with lots of raised veins, so there’s lots of sensation to be had, especially for your prostate. The Medium Splendid 6” dildo ends at a comfortable round base that will stick to smooth flat surfaces. This dual-density toy feels pretty damn realistic when used anally. Need it bigger? Check out the Splendid Large for longer, thicker, and more impactful.

Spareparts Deuce Harness — Whether you want to top or bottom (or both), this jockstrap-style harness is designed specifically for men and allows you to strap your favorite silicone cock in so you can (1) double-penetrate a female partner, and/or (2) give or take dick anally. Easily fits dildos up to 2″ diameter, and will stretch a little more using the plastic-bag method.

🌟 Felicity’s REC: And if you’re into pegging, 100% check out the Spareparts Joque harness, it’s the best & most adjustable! Plus the bullet vibe slot lets you choose your favorite bullet vibe to insert, so the harness-wearer is getting great clit stimulation and you don’t have to go through the hassle (IMO) of attempting to use a Feeldoe/Realdoe-style double dildo that’s hard to keep in.

Butt Plugs

Butt plugs are exactly what they sound like: a sex toy designed to slide into your hole and provide pleasure.

So why do people use butt plugs? Many reasons, but here are a few:

  • If you work the plug in and keep it in, to experience a feeling of fullness and possibly arousal.
  • You may even be someone who thinks wearing a butt plug in public is thrilling.
  • Or, use the plug to open your tight hole and acclimate your butt to new sensations—then move on to thrusting, stretching, and prostate-stimulating toys.

Since plugs come in different sizes and types, there’s something for every experience level. These choices are all made of body-friendly silicone, so they’re built to last.

b-Vibe Anal Training Kit — A serious set for serious/curious beginners. b-Vibe has some of the best butt plugs on the market, and this kit has been curated with butt plug newbies in mind. You get three fantastic plugs, each one a little bit bigger than the last, so they grow as you do. The smallest plug is a finger-sized toy made of supple silicone to tease your curious hole. Move up to the second plug, a 5.3″ wonder equipped with one of b-Vibe’s amazing vibrators. This will take your plug play to the next level. Ready to go all the way? The 5.4″ third plug is even thicker (1.6″ wide vs. 1.25″ for the second plug). It has an internal set of solid metal balls to give this toy some real heft; it’s going to work your prostate! The kit also contains a handy primer on anal play, and you’ll even get a lube shooter and a reusable enema bulb (also sold separately here), so you can easily prep your hole for anal playtime.

📖 TIP: Totally new to anal? Check out my tips for inserting your first butt plug here.

Doc Johnson Mood Naughty Plugs — You don’t need to pop for an expensive kit to have a good time with your butt. If you’re just curious enough to try one plug, why not start with one from the affordable Doc Johnson Mood Naughty line? They’ve got traditionally-shaped plugs with nice tapers and comfortable bases, so these will ease in and stay anchored for longer sessions. Choose the traditional plugs in Small, Medium, Large, or X-Large, or pick up the Trainer Set which has three different sizes. You might want to opt for a Mood Naughty 2, which sports a thicker, bulging tip designed to be more filling and provide direct stimulation with your prostate, also available in Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large.

SquarePegToys® Egg Plugs — Ready for a butt plug that’s even more of a hole spreader and ass filler? Take a look at these SuperSoft silicone plugs from SquarePegToys®! As you may have guessed, the Egg Plugs have a rounded egg shape. They’ll take a little work (and a lot of lubricant!) to work inside, but the silicone is so soft and comfortable you’ll be amazed at how these feel once you’ve got them fully inserted. With nine sizes to choose from, there is a perfect plug for everyone in this collection, from Extra Small (3.5″ length) to Monster (8″ length with an 11″+ circumference). Looking for a toy that’s easier to get in your hole? Be sure to take a look at the Firmer Black version Egg Plugs, available in four sizes.

📖 TIP: With SuperSoft Bronze/Graphite Egg Plugs, consider using a lube shooter to get your hole slick before insertion. Then, put your fingers on both sides of the “Egg”‘s bottom, where it meets the plug’s neck, and push gently upward into your hole. This prevents the flexible neck from folding over.

SquarePegToys® Blunt Plugs — But what if you want something to stretch your hole as well as fill it? Look no further, the Blunt Plugs from SquarePegToys® are here to do the job. These are made of the same SuperSoft silicone, but sport thicker necks. With eleven plugs to choose from, there is a Blunt Plug for every taste and experience level, from smaller sized (3.5″ long) to larger (6″+ long). Pay close attention to the circumference measurements on these; some of these plugs are fairly short, but have very thick widths, especially in the neck. Pretty perfect, assuming you’re looking to s-t-r-e-t-c-h that hole.

Butt plug size graphic, Mood Naughty, Egg Plug, Oxballs Ergo, Blunt Plug
Choose your size carefully: “large” and “extra-small” mean very different things to different makers. TIP: Measure the circumference of the most fingers you can comfortably fit inside your hole, and start sizing up from there. A string and ruler, or cloth tape measure, is good for this.

Oxballs Ergo Plugs — This is another set of bigger butt plugs made of soft silicone. With an ass-filling design, these kidney-shaped plugs are also a good choice for someone looking to get filled. Once you work these in, you’ll want to leave them in for awhile! Available in five sizes (2.5″ long/4″ circumference, to 4.75″ long/8.5″ circumference) in two different colors Peepshow Toys is the only place selling the exclusive Blueballs color, and also available in a trio of sizes in a firmer silicone, for an even more solid sensation.

b-Vibe Vibrating Butt Plugs — Solid silicone is nice, but when you add vibrations to a butt plug, you can really raise your anal pleasure to the next level. I can’t talk about butt plugs without mentioning some of my favorite vibrating plugs, and those come from b-Vibe. I think b-Vibe had the original Rimming Butt Plug, which teases not only the prostate with an intense tip-central vibe, but has a real hole pleaser in the rotating beads that rumble inside the neck of this thing. You don’t need the larger (6″ Rimming Plug 2) to have a good time; I actually obtain more stimulation using the Petite Rimming Plug. At just under 5 inches long, the tip targets my prostate perfectly, while the rim beads tease 360 degrees of my hole. Not only plugs need to be huge to send you into orbit. That said, if you love big plugs, b-Vibe’s Rimming Plug XL gives you almost 7 inches of length, a wider plug (2.2″ diameter), and even some extra texture on the neck, to compliment the rimming beads. Wow! Those who prefer the smaller plugs and love a lot of vibration might want to add the b-Vibe Trio to their plug collections. With three powerful vibes packed into a 4.3″ long slender plug, this thing will really knock your socks off (if you’re wearing any).

Blush Performance Plus Drive Rimming Plug — I have to mention this other rimming butt plug. The Drive is half the cost of the b-Vibe plugs, but it still packs a pretty good punch when compared with those higher-end toys (and they are worth every penny). With a slightly thicker plug all around, the Drive is still nicely rounded for easy insertion/removal and has a decent internal vibrator coupled with some really pleasant hole-teasing rim beads. It’s waterproof and has a remote control, so pop this thing in and see what all the fuss is about! This would be a great “first time” rimming plug, if you want to see how well you enjoy it before investing in one of the more expensive models.

Njoy Pure Plugs — By the creator of the Pure Wand, these stainless steel plugs have a highly stimulating weight, plus a big curve to press toward the prostate. You’re may want to go bigger with these: at 1.5″ maximum width, Pure Plug size large is practically tiny compared to SquarePegToys or Oxballs, but it feels like more due to how much heavier stainless steel is than silicone. Njoy’s stainless steel is polished to a mirror finish and is amazing to wear if you want constant pressure from your plug.

Cinco Vibrating Anal Beads by b-Vibe — Okay, so this one isn’t exactly a butt plug, but if you give it a closer look, it kind of is. It’s got a curved anal-safe base, and it sports a rounded tip and grows gradually thicker the deeper you go. Unlike “traditional” anal beads, the Cinco’s balls aren’t strung on a cord, so they’re thicker and less flexible. At over 8 inches long, I sometimes have a difficult time popping the whole set in to the base, and the insertion always gives me massive amounts of prostate stimulation. With three internal vibrators, this thing really turns up the heat when you turn it on. Since the Cinco is fairly firm, you can even thrust with it, enjoying the way the beads of varying sizes stimulate your hole. This is one of my favorite anal toys of any type.

Other Anal Toys for Men

A world of butt-play possibilities, from anal beads (for the POP of the beads being pulled out your hole) to “tunnel plugs” that make big anal penetration easier, to helpful tools like enema bulbs and lube shooters.

Blush Performance Silicone Anal Beads — Now these are traditional anal beads, and Blush has really done them right. Not only are the six beads made with silicone, but the cord is silicone too! Whether you tease your hole with just one or two beads, or are able to pack the entire set up your butt, this anal toy feels great. My favorite way to play with these? I work all six beads into my ass and start to masturbate. Just as I cross the point of no return, I start to pull the beads—slowly—out of my hole. Try this and see if it doesn’t do a number on your prostate as it starts to throb during orgasm.

Luxe Be Me 3 Plug — Curious about anal beads but want something a little less imposing? Take a look at this smaller 3-bead toy from Blush Novelties. It’s firm and curved and each bead grows gradually larger, so you can gradually get accustomed to larger sizes. The base keeps the plug safely anchored when fully inserted, but can also be used as a handle to work the balls in and out if you want to use them as traditional anal beads. With only a 4.75″ insertable length, it won’t fill you up like the Performance beads, but it’s the ideal length for targeted prostate massage.

Oxballs Hole Spreading Plugs, or “Pig-Holes” — Unlike traditional solid plugs, these popular anal toys from Oxballs are designed for those who really get into hole play and enjoy a nice spread. Oxballs Pig Holes are totally hollow from end to end and are engineered to open those tight holes. Find the Pig Holes in five sizes or “go deep” with two longer Pig Holes: Deep Hollow plugs.

📖 TIP: Once your Pig-Hole is fully seated, you or your partner can take advantage of the open design to slip a favorite anal toy (like a vibrator or dildo) into the opening. Works great with lubed fingers or a well-placed cock, too!

Oxballs Rosebud Hole Opener Plugs — Aptly named, & another Oxballs favorite for those who like a gaping hole. These chunky solid plugs will open like a flower once worked into your ass. These certainly aren’t for every hole, but experienced anal explorers will likely enjoy what these unique plugs can do.

SquarePegToys® Slink Depth Probe — The depth exploration toy par excellence. A tapered colon snake, Slink stretches you more, the farther you go. It’s made of SquarePegToys’s amazing SuperSoft silicone, 100% platinum grade—because you want safety when you’re going so deep. If you’ve never rounded the sigmoid bend in your colon, Slink is the way to go.

b-Vibe Classic Enema Bulb Set — A tool, not a sex toy! A good anal douche is a nice thing to have in your collection, whether you’re an anal newbie or a seasoned pro. Rather than use disposable enemas, why not utilize this handy silicone bulb enema (with slim, reusable plastic nozzle) to assist with pre-play clean out?

b-Vibe Lube Applicator Set — Like the enema, this really isn’t an anal toy, but I’ve found that a lube shooter (in this case, you get three!) is so handy to have when engaging in anal play. Simply load the injector with your favorite lube, ease the tip into your hole, and deposit the perfect amount of lubricant right where you want it. Couldn’t be easier!

Lubes for Anal Play

For sex, for masturbation, and—especially—sex toys, a ready supply of lubricant should be a staple in your collection. There are several different types of lube, but not all of them work equally well for everything, so I’ll explain the differences, tell you what they’re good for, and give some product suggestions. For penetrative sex and sex toys that are going inside me, I try to stick with lubes that have natural ingredients and no possibly unsafe or questionable ingredients.

Njoy Pure Wand Stainless Steel Dildo lube comparison
An array of lubes w/ Njoy Pure Wand: From left to right, Sliquid Sassy water-based, Butters oil-based, Uberlube silicone, and Sliquid Silk hybrid.

Water-Based Lubricants

Water-based lubes are a must have for any sex toy collection. A good water-based lube will work with any sex toy, they usually don’t stain clothing or linen, and you can use them safely with latex condoms. The main drawback to a water-based lube is it typically dries up much more quickly than other types of lube, so you’ll have to reapply it more often, especially for long-term wear or if you’re thrusting hard.

Sliquid Sassy — Sassy is my favorite water-based lube, and one of my all-time favorite lubes, period. It’s similar to Sliquid’s H2O formula, only it has a thicker consistency. This is the lube I like to recommend if you’re using anal toys. It goes on nice and thick and doesn’t run all over; it stays on the toy until you can work it inside your hole, and seems to last a lot longer than many other water-based lubes I’ve tried.

Sliquid Essentials Sampler — Not sure which type of lube you might like best? This 12-pack of samples includes four different water-based formulas, plus trial sizes of Sliquid’s silicone (called Silver) and hybrid (water/silicone blend, called Silk) versions. These 5 ml packets not only offer just enough lube to try it out, but they work great for travel purposes.

Oil-Based Lubes

Oil-based lubricants are made of oils, and work great for long-lasting plug wearing. Keep in mind that oil-based lubes are not latex condom compatible. The best for anal toying:

The Butters — An all-purpose oil-based lube that’s all natural. It goes on super thick and gets nice and slippery as it warms up. I like to use this stuff on my larger silicone anal toys because it’s really easy to put on a good thick coat to make for an easier insertion. The stuff lasts a long time, too.

📖 TIP: Because there aren’t any weird ingredients in this one (i.e., chemical preservatives), I’ve found The Butters has a longer shelf life if I keep it in the refrigerator between uses.
📖 TIP: Sliquid is one of the *few* makers of water-based lube that doesn’t contain glycerin (especially problematic for vaginas) or propylene glycol (which is hyper-osmolal, meaning it makes your tissues suck in extra water and dries them out). Both those ingredients are linked to increased tissue damage in the rectum, not just the vulva & vagina, so it’s good to buy safe if you’re having anal sex using the lube in question.
📖 TIP: You can also use extra-virgin coconut oil (sold at almost any grocery store) for anal play, it’s just harder to scoop out and apply to toys than the Butters as it’s less creamy.

Hybrid Lube

A hybrid lubricant is perfect for those who like water-based lube but want an extra additive to make it last longer and feel more satiny. It’s perfect, really.

Sliquid Silk — Silk is Sliquid’s version of a silicone/water-based hybrid lube. If you like your lubes to look and feel like cum, this milky white formula might be right up your alley. Since the amount of silicone in a hybrid lube is fairly minimal, you can use this type of lube with a silicone toy. Sliquid says Silk has been used with some silicone sex toys with no negative effects.

🌟 Felicity’s REC: Have used Sliquid Silk with all sorts of silicone dildos, from cheap ones to high-end ones, and have never experienced a change in the material. Hybrid lubes are also definitely easier to clean off toys than pure silicone lubes, and a little easier than oil-based (next).

Silicone Lubes

Silicone-based lubes are made of—surprise!—silicone, and are great for many things. Since a silicone formula is long-lasting, it’s especially good for anal sex. The consistency almost makes it feel like you’re using baby oil. I never recommend this type of lube for use with silicone toys, only because many manufacturers say to avoid silicone lubes.

Silicone can also stain more easily than water-based lubes, but I found that a powdered oxygen bleach type of cleaner usually takes care of any staining, when laundering is done in a timely manner. I personally love using silicone lube on my stainless steel anal toys, because it’s so long-lasting and super-slick. Be careful, though; it can make your sleek toys extra slippery and hard to hold on to.

Sliquid Silver — I don’t find a whole lot of difference between one silicone lube and the next, but Sliquid’s lubes have always worked well for me, and I know they don’t put any junk in them. I’ve had a bottle of Silver for awhile and it just seems to last and last.

Uberlube — Another body-friendly silicone-based lubricant that leaves your skin feeling moisturized, never sticky. The handy pump/spray dispenser allows you to easily get just the right amount.

🌟 Felicity’s REC: Uberlube is more expensive than water-based lube, but *wow* does it last longer. My partner & I took 6 months of screwing to get through a bottle! And especially if you are using condoms, pick up some silicone lube for better glide.
