I was destined to write a best realistic dildo guide. My own sex toy journey began as a hunt for a more lifelike dong. No vibrations, no extra functions (except maybe a suction cup?). Just the most realistic dildo—to screw the shit out of. As I kept looking, I realized that not all dildos are created equal. For example, PVC typically *smells* and leaches chemicals into the body. (Chlorine sex? Uhrm, no thanks.)
Discovering silicone dildos, and then dual-density silicone dildos, was a true turning point in my life. Dual-density is a big deal because EVEN MORE REALISM. With a two-layer composition, you get a soft outside (that fools the brain into thinking “skin”) over a hard inside core (for that erect feel too). Silicone can be blended in all different firmnesses (shore durometers)—it’s the only non-porous material that can be soft OR hard!—and multi-layer toys take the fullest advantage of that fact.
After years of toy testing and collecting, I’ve accumulated a full range of 100% platinum silicone dual-density dildos. I’m a silicone dildo expert and a sensation specialist: I describe firmness balance, silicone finish, delicate lines vs. wham-bam textures. As always, I want you to know how verifiably body-safe options are similar and different; to be able to weigh your choices (and your unique preferences) before you buy. Silicone is also much, much more easy to clean! I will NOT recommend you a toxic PVC King Cock; or the Lifelike Lover Classic realistic dildo by Lovehoney (porous TPR/TPE that can grow bacteria); or a rock-hard silicone toy and claim that a panel of experts thinks it’s best. All my top most-realistic dildos are soft & fleshy!
This guide ranks the best, most realistic dildos of 2024, all *nontoxic* & body-safe. I’ve tested hundreds of dildos over my career! It’s narrowed down from my complete dual-density list. I also include a run-down of realistic one-layer dildos at the end, whose softness makes many users think of skin. All toys mentioned are harness compatible.

#1: Solina Mega – Best Body-Safe and Real-Feel Dildo.
Fantastic Balance; Realistic Coloring; My Favorite Life-like Dildo Ever.
Detailed Solina ×3 Review Here
Shop: $39.99 to $69.00 Here (3 total sizes)
I’ve been waitin’…for a toy like you🎵, I almost want to sing to my favorite Solina dildo: a level of most realistic dildo I’ve been seeking for 10 years.
If you’re looking for 1 ultra-realistic toy with average girth, go Solina Mega “large.” All 3 Solina dildo sizes are platinum-cured silicone, nonporous, and dual-density (soft skin + firm core). Solina dildos’ cured silicone highlights create a pink head that won’t degrade, even if you want to boil it to sanitize your toy!
This is my dream: soft, smooth silicone that glides yet feels like skin. Use Sliquid Silk lubricant for a cum-like effect(!). This dildo feels so real inside, and I love how the large’s crown tugs, gently yet noticeably.
Since I’m a bit of a size queen, the large size is my awesome period dildo; the XL is a happy medium if you want girthy but not whoa! big; while the XXL size Solina Mega is my personal favorite dildo most days. The popping ridge, skin retracted below, rolllllls over my G-spot, again and again while thrusting. Stimulation on repeat, the closest thing to foreskin moving you’ll find in a cured, nonporous sex toy. OMG the Solina dildo’s skin texture: I can fall asleep with it inside (after orgasming on this dildo that feels so real), it’s so comfortable. It’s the real feel of a RealCock dildo, except not uber-expensive and more stable!
#2: Blush Neo Elite – The Affordable Option
Lowest-Cost for Dual-Density Silicone; Good Suction Cups
Detailed Neo Elite Review Here
Shop: $23.99 to $70.99 Here (most around $33)
Blush’s Neo Elite is the cheapest lineup of dual-density dildos that I would trust is 100% platinum-cure silicone (the body-safe stuff!). Starting at under $24, Blush has managed to make these dual-layer dildos—whose production requires more time and labor than single-layer toys do—available for costs that can retail for between $29.95 and $35.99. And the feel is pretty good!
Neo Elite includes 8 phallic toy shapes now: comparison here. The NON-glow Neo Elite all made up of the same silicones, each one is a suction cup dildo, but they definitely don’t feel the same. (Due to their different shapes, core sizes, and surface textures!) And Neo Elite Glow looks cool: but the silicone is a tad firmer outside, so they don’t feel quite as good inside the body, IMO.
#3: BMS Naked Addiction Dual Density – Tapered + Smooth.
Tapered Tip & Smooth Glide; Good Skin Feel (Non-Luxury Pricing)
Detailed Review Here
Shop: $59.99 Here
The Naked Addiction Dual Density Dildo is a great penis stand-in if you are not into coronal ridges that tug for G-spot stimulation or prostate play! Its smaller tip + gently expanding shape make it less imposing.
You can’t truly discuss a skin-like feel without covering silicone finish. Platinum silicone can be glossy or draggy, the same way it can range from super-squishy to almost-plastic-hard.
The Naked Addiction Dual Density Dildo has a delightful finish, 9/10 real feel for under $60. It feels intriguing in hand; I just want to keep fondling it, especially the soft, scrotum-texture of this dildo with balls. So many little skin lines, plus a *bump* in the middle of the sack for rubbing your external bits on.
Naked Addiction is a great balance between smooth and draggy—right in the middle. It’s a Goldilocks amount of drag. Thrust it by hand, or ride it using the strong suction cup base—with good lube, this realistic silicone will glide beautifully. With its 5.5 inch realistic length, it’s not too long to sit on (if, like me, you’re not into depth play).
For years (before Solina dildos), I found the N.A. dual the best ultra realistic for under $100. But the one thing that made BMS’s Naked Addiction Dual Density not *perfect* for me? The head is tapered, a teeny bit slimmer than the thickest shaft width (1.5″ diameter). That makes it easier to insert anally, but vaginally I like those big ridges for more G-spot stimulation. YMMV!
#4: VixSkin Mustang – Lifelike dildo for Anal
The Crowd Favorite; Slick Finish; Great for Pegging
Detailed Review/Comparison Here
Shop: $136 Here
Part of the bestselling VixSkin lineup, Mustang is Vixen Creation’s most fan-favorited toy by far. Mustang’s shaft is a delicate balance, quite realistic when lubed up. (Like a silicone-lube-covered penis sliding nicely.) And though Mustang is a crowd favorite, you may very well be drawn to the impressively large Vixen Creations Outlaw, or the slender Spur.
The glans (cock head) is squashy-gummy soft. And if a toy’s head is that squishy, I also need it to be LARGE and stick out more. My G-spot wants the attention; more protruding = better Gspot stimulation. And Mustang gives that, with a big mushroom curve. The extra-pronounced nature of Mustang’s ridge and curved shaft counteract the “slightly flaccid” effect that I frequently get from Vixen VixSkin dildos.
IMO, Mustang’s head is best suited for hard and fast thrusting. If you’re sensitive, you can go as speedily as you want, still with no discomfort. And Mustang glides when lubed, so slick. If only its weak-ish suction cup was stronger, to stick well to a fucking machine!
#5: Uberrime Realistic Dual Density artisan dildos
Best Artisan Realistic Dildos
Shop: $89 to $135 (depending on size)
Uberrime Dildos has upgraded how realistic their toys look in the past 2 years: with a wider range of dual-density silicone. Seen below are 1) Maxime, which has the best G-spot pressure; 2) Optimo; and 3) Teres, great for thrusting.
These dual layer toys stand out because they have thicker firm cores, making them more stable—more consistently erect, if you will—during faster thrusting. They bend less than the Neo Elite 7.5 Inch, or the VixSkin Mustang.
Handmade in Florida, Uberrime realistic dildos have sparkly (and safe) pigments, even in the flesh-tone colors! Independent makers rarely manage to produce two-layer dildos—there’s too much potential for failure. But Uberrime’s Marco has spent years perfecting the process. Uberrime’s Splendid was the first dual-density toy I ever had from a small artisan maker—the ability to pull off two-layer toys consistently is very rare!
#6: RealCock 2: The MOST Real Dildo? NOPE.
Super-Real-Looking; Hyper-Realistic Dildo Art
Shop: Don’t, actually.
TL;DR: If you’re gonna put out $500 for a realistic dildo experience, buy a Premium sex machine and a cheaper dual-density silicone attachment that pairs with it. (I always use my Solina ultra-realistic dildo on the Hismith fucking machine, now.) Together, they will do the work for you—much easier than the RealCock 2 dildo.
I thought I’d made this guide *definitive* once I got a RealCock 2, the most premium faux-erection in production. By “premium,” I mean expensive. This is one fookin’ expensive dildo. My RealCock 2 Dirk looked soooo beautiful at first, I was enthralled:
But then, by a few weeks in, the problems. Oh, all the problems with this $600 hyper-realistic dildo. 1.) The density balance is not perfect, even for over a half-grand: the silicone outside feels squidgier than an erect penis head. 2.) The massive balls + huge skin flap make it ultra-difficult to thrust by hand. 3.) I don’t think the RealCock2 is 100% silicone, I think it’s a TPE + silicone blend. Because: mine got an infection. Seriously. I had 10 other silicone toys in a drawer touching it when I got a Dialister bacteria vag. infection (from receiving oral from a non-monogamous partner, huge mistake), and this Realcock was the only sex toy that got nasty. Developed blisters all over its balls. Disgusting. Though I sanitized the lifelike dildo with 70% isopropyl alcohol, its boils will never go away.
Though the RealCock 2s claim to be ultra-realistic, and they do feel good at first, but other customers have also found they degrade over time, plus Abyss/RealDoll isn’t fulfilling orders promptly as of early 2024.
Addendum: Soft Single-Density
Especially for larger dildos and/or for anal play, soft-soft silicone toys are super popular. SquarePegToys and Hankey’s Toys (get 75% Soft firmness for toys up to 6.5″ circumference, or 30% Soft firmness for the big’uns) are the best makers of realistic lifecasts (bodysafe materials, of course: 100% handmade platinum silicone).
Again, be sure to avoid King Cock PVC realistic dildos, which are a trash material. Both SquarePeg and Hankey’s are known for SUPER-sizing it: making many huge dildos, girthy realistic ones, and extra-long dildos too; though average-size options are available as well! I’ll talk about those biggies and other kinda-soft-silicone, mass-produced toys here. These are highly preferred if you’re looking for a comfortable anal dildo; their soft silicone will bend with your rectum. (On a side note: Pssst, if you need a soft, wearable butt plug, please check out the Egg Plug.)
- SquarePegToys realistic lifecasts include Leo (the most popular, a long ‘un), Nathan, Mel, and Dirk. SquarePeg was the first maker to create truly soft silicone dildos (in 2006), and they deserve mad respect for that!!! See my full SquarePegToys SuperSoft realistic comparison here. The Leo, Dirk, and the Steve are now my favorites because I just can’t choose: with Leo being extra-long, and Steve being the G-spot (or P-spot) focused choice; while for Dirk, I’m digging the foreskin looks and the thickness of the 1X size. All these toys are true-life molds of human penises.
- Mr. Hankey’s Toys makes many porn-star lifecasts these days (I’ve reviewed a couple!), plus realistic “not based on an actual person” dildos. Many users interpret the squish of Hankey’s 75% Soft silicone as “skin-like.” I think the finish is awesome: like the BMS Naked Addiction Dual Density, it’s halfway between slick and draggy. The soft silicone gliiiiides with lube. It’s smooth enough, but not so smooth that I can’t feel the skin detailing. (And u should know I love the skin detailing.) Since I often interpret “very soft” (about 00-50 shore durometer and below1) as “semi-flaccid,” I like Hankey’s Toys best with a vibe stuck in their Vac holes. Topher Michels’s short thickness is awesome with a strong vibe inside—my favorite vibrating dildo.
- Fleshjack Boys/Fleshlight Guys dildos are lifecast porn star cocks as well. These are about an 8 to 9A shore durometer, so technically about the firmness of an erection—just without the same soft skin feel, since if you go more erection-like for the whole, it can’t be super-soft outside. The bases on these things are chunky due to the balls, but all include a Tantus-esque suction cup that sticks into a hole in the base. (This setup is slightly wobbly and works better stuck to horizontal surfaces than vertical ones, so gravity isn’t pulling the toy off the insert.)

Notes
Being the owner of a micro penis with ed issues I wanted to give my wife a “big cock” exerience so I purchased the Real Feel Dirk dildo and Doc Johnson Vacu- lock harness. All I can say is she has become addicted to this!! Her o’s are off the chart and she loves it’s lifelike looks and how I roleplay a guy with a big cock fucking her. Sooooo…. fun!!😉
Hello, Rob. My husband also has almost a micro penis. How’s your experience overall? My therapists thinks my husband wants to see me with other men to masturbate watching… but I’d rather having realistic dildos before considering other men in our bed to satisfy his needs. Is that something that you thought about it? Or the dildo was the solution?
Your reviews are bad ass. You explain the drag on Mr hankeys dildos so acutely those types of things are so important people just rave on how things are great. But its those extra things in your feedback are fantastic. I’m tossing between getting a realcock2 but not sure also your the only person who mentions how it droops in a harness. Well said those little things make a big different and should be stated. I’ve seen shorten vac u locks for this maybe that would suit better to avoid that i dont know anyways cheers awesome feedback. Keep it real
Thank you so much!
So the Vac harness I own is a brief style, and therefore it’s not the most secure with a heavier dildo. Someone using a leather harness w/ Vac plug meant for big toys, like the Mr. S Leather Dildo Harness that Mr. S and Mr. Hankey’s Toys sell, may have a better experience.
In any case, the RealCock2s all have very substantially sized bases: they are not easy toys to jerk inside oneself by hand!
Hi Felicity, so in your opinion what would be your harness recommendation for heavier toys?
Thanks
Hi! How much heavier, and does it have balls or a suction cup (what is the base like?)?
I ordered the Realcock2 / JAMES for extra girth but I’m having doubts now and cancelled the order, although it takes 45x days for a refund so apparently I’m still in the cue if I want to reinstate the order I won’t lose my place in the cue ..
I should have had this around now 4/6weeks delivery but they end telling me it’s going to be February 2024 because of lead build times are longer now..
Felicity, your reviews are *so* helpful, I feel like I’m holding each of these models in a shop or giving them a spin myself! Question: my partner loves the feel of anal with a human cock, but hasn’t found a dildo that works for their butt. We’ve explored the RealCock as a (pricey) option, but is there one you’d recommend that has the give on the outside with right rigidness for anal? Looking at the Leo from Squarepeg…thank you so much!!
Thank you so much!!!
Definitely would not recommend RealCock. Apparently now the wait time is up to 8+ months and they don’t respond to customers, plus mine totally degraded, like a TPE dildo would.
So, 100% super-soft silicone first became popular for anal use specifically, not for vaginal. That was SquarePeg’s SuperSoft first, followed by Bad Dragon in the ’00s, and then a ton of other fantasy cos. who use Smooth-On Ecoflex plus Mr. Hankey’s Toys in the ’10s. With any real super-soft silicone, it feels great for anal *BUT* you have to be adequately warmed up / relaxed to take the size toy you’re trying to use (i.e., it’s tougher to get super-soft inside because it can fold over; so insertion should be approached slowly if one is sizing up).
With SquarePeg dildos, definitely try either Leo (for length + overall skin feel) or Steve (more prostate stimulation) or Wyatt (which is kinda midway between Leo and Steve, except a bit smoother than Leo). Even if not as erect as a real penis, the material is awesome.
For most realistic in terms of firmness, I do have a new top pick, but the toy is in production and there are only a few copies in North America; I am veryyyyy excited about updating this guide around June 2024 with that dildo because I love it to death, and the coloring is fairly realistic (not just a flat one-color) while the firmness balance is just spot-on for me.
Thank you a ton for reading.
Hey Felicity, I have a Fiancé and i’ve tried the naked dildo line and she didn’t like it she said it was too “hard” and no drag. we tried plenty on dildos and I was goin to try the Realcock2 dirk. I think thats the one shes most interested in but the wait times are gonna be long so what would u recommend in the mean time that is comparable to the Realcock2 dirk, in terms of realism and drag and softness with some firmness. She’s pretty sensitive in the vaginal area.
Hi! Can you be specific about exactly which dildo it was she tried that felt hard?
… Was having “no drag” a downside for her, here?
Felicity, Just reading these comments and wondering about the June update for this guide. I would love to find the perfect realistic dildo for me. I definitely want a firmness close to a real penis but would sacrifice a little firmness for the perfect skin texture. I do love deep penetration so maybe a softer one would bend better? some firmer ones ive used I can’t get all the way in because of the bend in my rectum. As far as girth goes 1.5″ to 1.6″ definitely seems perfect but maybe a softer one would allow me to go slightly bigger?? suction cup is a must as I love to ride hands free
Yeah… the listing is up now, apparently the inventory is stuck in transit or customs, it’s apparently slated for early July landing, but this Solina “large” is 100% hands-down the most realistic average-size dildo I’ve ever felt, silicone of course — tremendously looking forward to updating!!!
Hi Felicity,
What do you think about Dear Rabbits realistic dildos? I haven’t seen anyone review them online, but they seem like reliable, realistic, silicone dildos from the photos. Thinking about purchasing. https://www.dearrabbits.com/collections/realistic-dildos
They’re just run-of-the-mill Chinese whitelabel toys, looking at how shiny the silicone is in all their images, and how overdone the pigmentation is. I’ve gotten half a dozen similar products. They’re extremely slick, which feels less skin-like but some people will like it for anal use specifically. The silicone feels cheap, and may/may not be platinum-cured; which isn’t necessarily going to be harmful to the end user (the consumer), but peroxide curing creates more volatile byproducts.
Will you please elaborate on which lubes you like best for different materials?
The amount of friction any type of play will produce is even more important when choosing a lubricant, vs. the material: though you typically want to avoid silicone lubricant with most silicone toys.
Water-based lubricants are compatible with all sex toy materials, but truly a dumpster fire in terms of safety with human mucous membranes (like the vaginal lining, and inside the rectum) because of all the processed preservatives required for them to not mold on shelf, emulsifiers that can interfere with the vag. microbiome, and hyperosmolal thickeners that make most of them feel moisturizing upon application but mess with the epithelial barrier as the lube soaks in, even destroying cells. My full piece on lubricant safety / dangerous lubricants here. This is what I do use currently:
Clit stimulation toys, like air pulse:: Sliquid H20.
G-spot vibrators & rabbit vibrators: Sliquid H20 usually by itself, but will add a few drops of Sliquid Silk hybrid if I’m drier or I just feel I need more padding any given day.
Thrusting with realistic dildos / faster motion on a fuck machine: Sliquid H2O + Sliquid Silk. The minimal silicone content of the Silk hybrid reduces friction more.
For penis-in-vagina sex: Pure silicone lubricant.
Anal plugs: Extra virgin coconut oil.
Hi, I am a lesbian looking to purchase a long-lasting, real feel, skin like dildo that is vac-u-lock compatible. The safe skin like dildos are usually always suction cups and i’ve always had bad experiences with suction cups because it makes it hard to switch positions without the dildo falling off the harness. Please let me know what you would recommend.
Hi, thank u for reading!!!
I wonder if you all are into thick dildos? If not, that rules out most of the Vac-U options, since the silicone toys with hole option (like by Hankey’s Toys) tend to run 1.8 to 2″ diameter in order to accommodate the Vac peg’s size and not tear the silicone. I believe the small “Perfect Penis” dildo by Hankey’s is the slimmest, but IMO single density silicone (like all Vac-compatible silicone dildos are) also feels considerably less lifelike vs. a dual-layer silicone dildo that’s done well.
For an average size dildo that is definitely real feel but 100% non-toxic (even after months, won’t hang onto bacteria!!!) I cannot recommend the Solina “large” realistic dildoenough: it’s actually a very average diameter, from 1.4 to 1.5 inches, but has 6.75″ length. It feels 10 times better, and looks more real, than the Neo Elites. Yes, this is a normal suction cup dildo, but try it with a Body Dock harness. I was so skeptical about how good the suction-cup “stickage” would be with this setup before I got one, but it is amazing. Really strong hold after you press the dildo down.
Just as an added comment about Real Doll, yes definitely expensive and definitely long lead times. Don’t believe their website about the turnaround times. I made an order October of 23… still don’t have it. It appears that I “might” get it in another three months putting it nearly 14 months….if I get it. I’d question spending the money since they definitely have production problems. If I ever get it. I do a review!
Started reading the first review then next thing I knew I’m just sucked in. Good shit! Every review just hit hard and with basically perfect grammar and spelling. That is a win!
Thanks so much, I appreciate the kind words in re readability!!! I’m sure there are a few typos on site, but I think I do pretty well. I’m a former book editor who once dreamed of becoming a linguistics professor 😄
Very informative review.
I’m having some trouble understanding what you mean by a “drag” of a dildo. It seems drag varies for each individual.
My question:
What is drag of a dildo?
Does a real cis male penis drag or do not drag?
Bonus question
How do you prewarm your silicone dildos? I would like to keep it warm for my partner prior to use. I’m thinking of buying a digital water bath.
Thanks for reading.
Hi! Drag is a word that indicates friction / extra pull, anything that is not smooth glide.
Drag can be decreased either when a person’s vag is wet naturally or with a decent lubricant.
All dildos that have more texture have more drag, though the particular surface finish of a silicone dildo also affects how draggy it feels.
Real penises drag more either (1) when the vag being penetrated is dry / unlubricated, mainly; and (2) if the penis is larger, then that can also feel more abrasive, depending on several factors too: preference and experience level. But generally, human skin has less drag than even smooth silicone.
I personally don’t feel any need to prewarm, as the toy will heat to match my body temp very quickly amidst thrusting, or after a few minutes if left stationary; that’s so fast that it’s just a hassle to heat the dildo up for me, but it could be your partner has a different opinion there.
Thank you for reading too!
I have read many reviews from many reviewers, but following Felicity for I think close to 3 1/2 years, her reviews are the best – full stop. I appreciate the the questions about drag and and how to warm dildos. Those are very good questions, especially when a picky vag (as Felicity would say) is involved, and I have learned that every woman must be different. Felicity’s reviews help tease out the mystery. Being male, I had the most difficulty getting the “drag” correct, which is affected by girth, firmness, and manufacturer. I have purchased Hankey, Square Peg, Uberimme, Realcock, Njoy, John Thomas and others of different shapes and sizes. Some that I thought would be great turned out to be a flop. Some were good one day but not so good on another day, which made it even more difficult. My lady (for the past 35 years) does not like cold at all so I use a heating pad (sometimes warm water in a extra large cup) to warm both the toys and lube. Back to the drag conundrum, which until recently, continued to be a little frustrating. To solve the issue I would read Felicity’s reviews, choose and purchase a toy, observe, observe, observe and get feedback, reread Felicity’s review to put meaning and context to her words, rinse and repeat. Finally, when I read Felicity’s review on Solina Mega toys, I knew instantly this was a winner and I bought all three. They are great and turns out the Solina XL Mega was a grand slam having the perfect feel, texture, girth and drag for a go to toy. I would never buy a toy with out checking with Felicity – Thank you Felicity!
Thank you! I am a queer woman who loves being fucked (vaginally) with realistic dildos. What would be your recommendation for the best sexy harness (I like top femmes with a huge cock and a sexy harness)
thanks!!!!
Your review rocks!
You know, I’m not really a cute & sexy harness person, I like plain styles, but reading other folks’ reviews I’ve come away with the general impression that RodeoH makes very good harnesses: see their panty harness here, for one.
For dildos, if you’re looking for a rec there, the Solina Mega XXL is awesome & my personal favorite dildo. It’s very big for most people since it’s like 1 in a million size vs. human erections, but size queens will find it “not that wide.”
Hope this helps!!!
I remember reading a post you wrote about the Amante triple density dildo. How does that compare to a Solina? I’m getting a complimentary Solina (large) but I’m wondering if it’d be worth forking out for an Amante since they’re similar sizes and seem to occupy a similar niche.
Amante is substantially bigger than the Solina Mega Large. It’s more like the Mega Extra-Large.
The outer layer of silicone in Amante is a bit firmer.
Try out the Mega Large or XL depending on your size preferences (Mega large is median penis girth, XL is thick), and then see if the Amante still interests you. Its silicone does feel different, but in a way that’s similar enough that it really depends on how much sensation one is able to feel vaginally.
Have you found any realistic foreskin dildos thar have loose skin over the head like the real thing? I love foreskin but have never been able to find a dildo that has realistic foreskin.
Not possible! For toys, safety must be paramount, and cured silicone is amazing just for the fact that it can be soft plus functionally nonporous. Squishy squeezable soft silicone is a feat. Read more on so-called “moving foreskin toys” in my uncut dildos post. Silicone will not retain bacteria, while all human penises do.
