RealCock 2 Review: Dirk Ultra-Realistic Silicone Dildo

RealCock 2 review

I am a dildo devotee—and the RealCock 2 Dirk is my new favorite inanimate object, the best of the hundreds of dildos I own. Silicone…that looks alive. Dirk (Rockwell and Jones too) is nothing other than a prosthetic penis. The level of realism is stunning: this dick is a work of silicone artistry.

This RealCock 2 review has been literally years in the making. I discovered the RealCock 2’s existence four years ago, after I learned about body-safe silicone toys. And I was looking for REAL. But it’s probably good I didn’t buy a RealCock 2 back then, because I wouldn’t have waded through a couple dozen cheaper toys and, in the process, fallen into becoming a comparative dildo reviewer. I would’ve been satisfied with how lifelike Dirk (the new name for the oldest model) is, and Phallophile Reviews wouldn’t exist.

Since my dual-density dildo guide has grown to include more and more realistic dildo options,1 I finally decided it needed completion. It needed a RealCock 2. With four RealCock models to choose from, of course I picked the 2-inch-wide one with the big coronal ridge—my general dildo preference.

So the RealCock 2 Dirk came into my life. And now, as always, I’ll tell you about the 3 F’s essential to any complete dildo review: Firmness, Finish, and Feel.2 Here’s what sets RealCock 2 Dirk dildo apart from the pack…

UPDATE! In 2021, I’ve gotten tired of how clunky the RealCock2’s base is. During 2020 quarantine, I increasingly suffered trying to thrust this ginormous base by hand, in and out of my body, in lieu of actually having human lovers. My wrists got angry. Do note the size of the RealCock 2’s bottom, even in the smallest Jones model. Today I have abandoned the RealCock 2 for the (less-realistic-looking) Pleasure Tailor Triarx, which is 3 layers of handmade silicone balanced smartly, & with a strong G-spot curve that makes me orgasm more easily than the RealCock 2 Dirk (though both have given pretty damn hard orgasms in the end!). Original RealCock 2 review follows.

The Silicone: Three Layers

The big deal with dual-density (two-layer) silicone toys is that they can feel more real + more comfortable. They’ve got a soft outside and firmer core, for soft-like-skin plus erect sensations together.

RealDoll goes above and beyond with the RealCock 2s. Not just two layers, no—they’ve got three.3

  1. Firm core (that ends in a Vac-U-Lock hole; more on that later).
  2. Soft, flexible skin.
  3. Vein coloring and head coloring (all in body-safe silicone paint).

The RealCock 2’s core is firm: it really bends the same amount during play as an erection does. (Whereas many dual-density dildos are easier to bend in one hand—a flexibility that’s nice if you’re mounting them on a wall, but a lil wiggly when you’re thrusting them fast.)

And the skin layer, the soft part: It’s so soft, smooshy like the outer layer of Vixen Creations’ VixSkin toys or the whole body of SquarePegToys SuperSoft Bronze/ Chestnut/ Graphite. But the finish is superior. Unlike VixSkin, it’s not sooo tacky. It sticks to the hand less (just a tiny bit). It’s smooth but in a more skin-textured way; it’s gentle like skin is. With light dural lines all over the shaft; and little pore-like marks in the glans so it’s not so slick (not too slick the way VixSkin is, almost texture-less). On the other hand, the silicone finish does still glide. The skin textures are present, but don’t rub roughly the way the SquarePegToys skin lines do. Dirk is not draggy (unless you’re going in totally unlubed-up). Basically, it’s like my favorite single-density (Mr. Hankey’s Toys) except RealCock Dirk’s skin-like feel is amped up by 20%, *and* there’s a firm core so I’m not having to stick a bullet vibe inside to make it less floppy.4 And hey, if you’re looking for a cheaper Dirk dildo that’s still soft, then here’s a chode-y one by SquarePeg: it’ll fold over on itself with pressure, unlike RealCock 2 Dirk.

Then, there’s the extra visual effect. With RealCock 2’s hand-painted details, you get a hyper-realistic aesthetic that’s **totally safe** for contact with human skin and mucous membranes. Typically we only see toys with redder heads in porous, yucky materials like PVC. Not in silicone.

RealCock 2 hand-painted silicone
The veins!

Plus the veins in the RealCock 2 appear embedded under the skin; they’re raised like real-life veins. They pop out. Dirk here makes flat “flesh” tones look pedestrian.

No doubt, the look of a sex toy can affect the owner’s desire to play with it. I’ve said this before about pretty-colored things. With sparkles, you know.

Dirk isn’t pretty in the “cute” sense, but it’s beautiful in a gloriously realistic sense. It’s like photo-realistic art: a hand-crafted representation of every little detail in a true-life scene. And this true-life scene is a penis pic, so I find myself turned on.

RealCock 2 head coloring
This is not a penis! Hyper-realistic dildo art.

For base price, all four RealCock 2s can be ordered in your choice of 3 skin tones: fair, medium (pictured here!), and dark.5 I’m quite white, and medium Dirk’s shaft is very close to the color of my nipples, while the dildo’s glans is the color of my inner labia’s pouches. This “medium”6 is a nice break from “white white,” that’s for sure.

Floating Testicles & Sil-Slide Tech

Besides the third silicone layer, RealCock 2s are different from every other silicone dildo around because of the floating balls. The testicles are multi-layered too, not just soft silicone all the way through. Impressively,7 the balls are entirely separated from the shaft and from each other—not just part of the hard core.8 And you can move them around.

RealCock 2 floating testicles

I knew this in theory before I got a RealCock 2, but I didn’t see it as a huge selling point. I was all about the shaft, the realistic penetration. Then I started playing with Dirk’s ‘nads, and I am waaaaay too entertained by this. Literally hours of squishing and squeezing and moving fun. The scrotum texture is in-cred-i-ble.

The shaft skin can be moved around too—a little. RealDoll calls this effect “Sil-Slide technology.” The squishy silicone isn’t fully bound to the core underneath. It’s interesting to see it slide slightly when I’m manipulating Dirk. But cured platinum silicone is body-safe because it’s stable, and it’s not in its nature to move up to a couple inches up and down like, say, an uncut foreskin can. Dirk’s skin layer (except the corona) does not move noticeably when I’m thrusting it or riding it. That’s NOT a complaint; Dirk still feels great. It’s just how silicone works.

Speaking of feeling great…

The *FEEL*

For me as a realistic-dildo lover, the RealCock 2 is so fucking good that:

  • I first spent a week unable to write about it because my words would be inadequate;
  • I then started writing about semiotics and language as a symbol that can translate lived experience but isn’t identical with said experience;
  • I finally realized, “Fuck it, I decided not to become a linguistics professor a dozen years ago, and now I’m a sex writer instead, so I’ll just say, ‘DAMN this is a great dildo, I have been missing out.‘” (Then I’ll make a video showing ya how it moves!)

Dirk is the only plain dildo I’ve ever started testing that has made me come three times repeatedly, right away; then want to fall asleep beside it.

Since I do have so many dildos to choose from, I switch toys a lot. On an energetic day, up to 5 at a time. But with Dirk, once we start, I want to keep screwing it. I want to make it come, like I would with a male partner. The RealCock 2 is lifelike enough, it’s able to trick my brain into treating it like a penis rather than like a dildo.

It’s a little strange because I feel bonded to Dirk now. Sleeping next to it (*him*, my brain tries to correct me) is soothing—like the restfulness I’ve felt post-sex when sleeping next to a man I trusted. I want to run my hand down Dirk’s back and squeeze his balls affectionately.

I talk about skin feel a lot, because it’s a big part of realism. The RealCock 2 Dirk is the best for this quality, out of all the realistic dildos around. It has the best “dural texture.” It’s not perfect—Dirk is slightly stickier and slightly slicker than skin. And the coronal ridge—that big ridge, that my G-spot loves like a dear friend(WB)—is a bit softer than an erect penis head.9 Dirk’s thick core comes almost all the way to the urethral slit, so the head isn’t too smushy like I disliked with my first VixSkin. The retracted-foreskin kinda lines for the 2/3 an inch below the main ridge add just a dash of secondary texture. I feel all the little skin lines down the rest of the shaft in an abstract way, dimly.

I’m usually having Dirk’s large corona10 massage my G-spot and above. When I’m lying flat on my back most of all. But when I’ve taken Dirk with me into the shower, I’ve enjoyed flipping him over so balls are facing up—their size is easier to deal with that way. Then I feel the firmness of the RealCock 2 Dirk’s core most, because the silicone skin is thinnest at the back of the glans. I pretty much never come from the flat “back side” of a dildo shaft, because my G-spot is all about the ridge.11 But the extra hardness of the core coming through has made me come hard on Dirk, even while standing up in the shower and jerking it “upside down.”

Let’s talk about size: Dirk is thick. And round. And pretty long too. My partner is actually 2″ thick but he’s more ovoid than Dirk’s roundness, so the extra sizing really hit home the first time I tried Dirk. That and the fact that Dirk is over 9 inches tall, full length, sitting on my desk here. That’s over 7.25 inches insertable length—honestly too much for my vag. Personal preference: I wish it was shorter so I could grind on the ballsack better.12

Vac Hole & Ease of Use

Overall the RealCock 2 Dirk and my vag get along great. Swimmingly, in fact. Almost perfectly. My fingers and wrist have a little harder time because of HOW BIG Dirk’s base is. The front extends outward, into a large silicone flap. This extension is meant to stabilize the cock’s multiple layers. Unfortunately, it also makes the toy more awkward to thrust by hand.

The saving grace is the Vac-U-Lock hole in the bottom of the shaft. I can stick my finger into it and turn Dirk’s head ever so slightly, then fit Dirk’s balls into my palm. My fingers are small, so this may be one reason why gripping Dirk’s base is a little harder for me than it would be for others.

RealCock 2 Vac-U-Lock hole floating testicles
More gratuitous squishy balls for the win…and my finger in the Vac hole.

The central aim of the Vac hole is to let you put any RealCock 2 onto either (1) a fucking machine or (2) a Vac-U-Lock harness. That way you don’t have to worry about handling the large base; you have the work of thrusting done for you. (I’m all about that!) Clearly the logical solution here was that I needed to finally get myself a fucking machine. It’s a big investment: but 100% the best stress relief and joy I’ve ever gotten from a sex object.

There are also several Vac-U-Lock suction cups (get the large one), if you want hands-free riding with RealCock. They’re OK on very smooth horizontal surfaces, not on walls.

Please know: Vac inserts are difficult to remove from the RealCock 2 especially if you haven’t really lubed that hole up prior to insertion. Always remove the Vac plug right after use, so the lube doesn’t dry out and made extraction a real chore.

Finally, the bottom of the base is not totally smooth. There are two circles underneath where the balls went in; a slightly ragged area an inch in front of the Vac-U-Lock hole, where there was a spout for pouring the core silicone in, then the silicone was trimmed; and there’s a gauze lining embedded around the Vac hole itself, to ensure that the soft silicone does NOT start to tear (like Hankey’s Toys Vac holes will do inevitably). These marks are normal. Also, Dirk comes with little tiny pigment dots on the front of the base. I assumed this was carelessness with the silicone paint at first, but apparently they’re “freckles”!

The Ordering Process & Packaging

Ordering a RealCock 2 online is as simple as ordering anything else: just go to your preferred model’s listing, choose your preferred color, then add to cart and go through the checkout process to fill out your personal and payment info.

Because these dildos are made-to-order and very labor-intensive, the wait time is about a month.

When your RealCock 2 is ready to go, you’ll receive a UPS shipment notification via email. This is so you can be at home to sign for the package, because signature delivery is required. Then you open the box and see this:

RealCock 2 packaging

The packaging is minimal, which works for me because I’m all about what’s inside a toy box rather than any cardboard or plastic shell I’m going to see once, then recycle. RealCocks come in a plastic bag, with a short instruction sheet.

Care & Cleaning

The instructions say to wash with soap and water. But DO NOT BOIL. Since I’m all about body-safe materials, I like sanitizing stuff. Especially totally new toys, because god only knows what’s going on with the dust or bugs or mold release agents or whatever in the Chinese factories where so many (even nonporous silicone) toys are produced.

Typically, one can boil any silicone dildo without mechanical parts. But due to the extra-softness of the silicone here, the gauze-lined Vac hole, and the price of the toy, I understand the extra caution. A helpful RealDoll employee told me that besides soap and water, isopropyl alcohol is totally fine with RealCock 2s. So I go for my trusty 70% rubbing alcohol (much lazier than heating up water to boil, btw) when I’ve dropped my RealCock 2 on a dirty floor and want to give it a deeper clean. Of course rinse again well with soap and water after using alcohol on your body-safe sex toy.

The Price

I often see people surprised by the RealCock 2’s price: “Five hundred bucks for a dildo? Whuuut!” But, like, why not? Why wouldn’t I consider paying $500 for the most accurate representation of my favorite sight, a hard cock in front of me?

This is high-level artisan craftmanship. Intricate detailing and firmness balancing that took years to perfect. Simply, RealCock 2s are the dildo equivalent of a Michelin-starred meal, the best haute cuisine. Come hungry—and don’t expect Denny’s-level pricing. If your palate is less refined, if you’re a dildo noob, if you’re on a more limited budget because you have bills to pay—then a mass-produced toy will be more to your taste. (I suggest Blush Neo Elite for the best cheaper realistic option that’s still safe.) No judgment—we all have different experience levels, different sensitivity levels, different needs. RealCock 2s are for the connoisseur: the person who feels a lot and knows that.

Final Thoughts / Rating

I’m exactly the kind of person the RealCock 2 dildos were made for. Created for the phallophile, the one who’s picky about ultra-realistic detail. The one who wants the very best in their penis representation.

This review has become a dildo dissertation, because I believe that a dildo of this caliber deserves that. Just as you deserve as much info as possible if you’re going to put down a considerable chunk of money on a toy. On just a plain dildo, they say. But this is a dildo that’s exquisite in its handmade detail. It’s a dildo that I feel compelled to name,13 and that I feel an unusual amount of affection for. Because it’s realistic enough to make me, subconsciously, want to treat it like a human member. To be gentle with it, to caress its balls, to fantasize about pleasuring it. The same way it’s given me pleasure.

P.S. There’s also a RealDoll vagina, sold separately from the dolls (for $300)! It’s got cute pink lips.14

NOTES

3.2/5 (17 Reviews)
  1. It’s an exciting time to be a silicone dildo reviewer, I tell ya: the body-safe options are practically exploding!
  2. F is a great sound: my favorite word starts with it, and Phallo-Phile and Felicity are purposefully F-focused.
  3. Yes, I know Vixen is trying with the triple density as well. Based on my thoughts about how VixSkin is too smooth, and the fact that Bronco X has that same shine, I’m not asking the company for an opportunity to review a very premium toy that most likely will disappoint me.
  4. Not that I don’t like the vibes sometimes!
  5. Custom color for an extra grand, if you wanna go all the way.
  6. What might be called “Caramel,” for the middle tone by other upscale dildo makers like Vixen and Fuze (also Blush and CalEx); “Latin” if you’re a Big 5 sex toy brand that hasn’t realized you can’t market that way in this century; “Cocoa,” if you’re confused about what color chocolate is, like Tantus seems to be; Tone 2, if you’re trying to be vague like Uberrime; or “Olive” if you want a Mediterranean flair and enjoy thinking about food.
  7. This is impressive because precured silicone has a tendency to sink when inserted into still-uncured silicone. I can’t imagine the work that went into making this floating-ball setup stable long-term.
  8. NS Novelties decided to make the Colours Density dildos’ balls as hard as the shaft, all poured together from firm silicone, and it’s a huge turn-off for me to not be able to squeeze the balls while I thrust. Too firm, like rocks.
  9. I try to give shore durometer rankings whenever possible, but RealCock skin is so soft it’s negative on the A scale, and the firmness differences between low 00-shore silicones are so difficult to feel in hand, it’s not practical to spend a few hundred bucks on this sensitive measuring device.
  10. This shape’s main selling point for me!
  11. In no universe would I choose doggy style over cowgirl or missionary for any reason except to grind on a ballsack, and then only briefly.
  12. I’ll be sure to indicate this to RealDoll when I come into my fortune and have the $10k [starting price] custom dildo design done. 5.5 inches insertable, that’s correct. Also, it’ll have a head that’s as large as Dirk’s, but with an unretracted foreskin. You gotta have dreams, you know.
  13. I’m not telling you what the name is, that’s a secret between me and Dirk-not-Dirk 😄
  14. Currently only available in one flesh tone that’s even whiter than I am, so I’m not sure it’s representing anyone other than Barbie 🌺

  1. Great Review Felicity! I was about to buy a realistically large dildo with similar dimensions before I found your video review on Youtube; coupled with this detailed review, you’ve convinced me to treat myself to one of these instead. You covered absolutely everything.
I’ve never been so impatient for a dildo to arrive before now; it’s going to be a joy to use with my fucking machine!

  2. Reading this I thought you are awesome! The level of detail to describe this was as detailed as the realcock2 itself haha. Fantastic simply love your work. It helps people truly pick something out and not waste money on getting disappointed. I also love the comparison with the vixskin..you hit every question I had which..no OTHER reviewer does. All the best

    • You do realize that there’s a global pandemic going on and that many people are being forced to stay at home? Including employees of sex toy manufacturers, distributors, and retail shops?

Also that there’s **a full week** left on your wait time, and you’re already threatening credit-card chargeback?

Please try to be less of an entitled asshole during these trying times.

      • 😂 You’re awesome. Ordering a dildo of this quality to be made during a global pandemic gives a whole new meaning to the term “delayed gratification”. I ordered mine March 8th and got my despatch email May 8th which did indeed excite me so. I await its arrival with my fucking machine at the ready!

          • So it arrived May 28th in the U.K. I had my fucking machine all set up and ready to go. This dildo is just magnificent and your review really has done it justice. I was just that much extra aroused by how realistic it was that while I got started with it, I was leaking a ridiculous amount of pre-cum at the lower speeds. I took it doggy style and when I increased speed, it managed to spin upside down on the vac-u-lock putting that gorgeous corona on my p-spot; not long after that, at 280 RPM I had the most amazing orgasm ever.
It’s now safely tucked away upstairs in the lovely black display case it came in and I could swear I’m having withdrawal symptoms right now. I think next time I’ll take it while I’m on my back. 😛
I’m ever so glad I read your review Felicity and decided to treat myself to this awesome dildo.

      • This could definitely be helpful info for someone, thank you!

If I seemed short in my reply to previous poster, it’s because I’ve worked in customer service, and there are truly some entitled SOBs out there. Like it’s literally a global fucking pandemic and this person was threatening chargeback because their handmade dildo wasn’t completed prior to the *normal* completion window?! Seriously.

        • Hey Felicity, I just wanted to let you know that you are my number 1 go-to place when it comes to reading and learning about dildos these days. Ever since I discovered your blog, I am amazed at the amount of effort you put into each review. You really write the most in-depth (pun intended) guides that are online. I also love your sense of humor that slides into each review that you write (pun again, sorry).
Anyway enough of me boring you with compliments.
I want to say that I have been obsessed with this Real Cock from the moment I saw it. As trans male realism is crucial to me so this is listed as an essential purchase on my list. I hope to order it soon and if it is as you say then I think that most of my collection will go to garbage.
Anyway, IDK if you noticed but RC has 2 new dildos available: 1 huge named Bruce (ideal length IMO 10 inch, but too much girth it would feel like fisting someone) and the second one named James.
I am mentioning this since I remember that in your review of Hankey’s Topher Michels you mentioned that you like short and stubby toys. And in this review, you also said that your ideal RC would be something shorter and equally thick (as you can see I am an attentive reader :D).
Anyway, I thought that you might be interested to check this one out. Here is the link: https://www.realdoll.com/product/james/
And, who knows, maybe you can write us a review again for this one as well. Although tbh I am more interested to see how this Bruce would feel like, but considering the size (and the price) I think that I will have to buy it myself. And find a wiling reciepent.
I apologize for the too-long message.
I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate your work.

Also, is there some way that we as readers can support you, like do you have Patreon or Buy Me a Coffee?

Thanks again for the hard work!

Yeah, I could not resist that one either…puns are gonna bring me to the grave.

          All the best and Cheers,
          Klaus

          • Hey Klaus, thank you so much for the compliments!!!

Yeees, the RealCocks are so nice. Very carefully detailed. I just with the bases weren’t huge! That’s the big downside for me, they’re harder to jerk and will require a nice stable harness, like a good leather one, with Vac-U-Lock capacity.

I do like thicker toys that aren’t long. 2″ D x 5-6″ L is my ideal. And James looks nice. I wish it had Dirk’s more prominent ridge, is all!

The Bruce would definitely be a stretching adventure 😄

I do have a Kofi here, for anyone kind enough to ask. Thank you!

  4. As a trans man, I am so stoked for this. I just really wish they made a version compatible with a regular o-ring harness. Vac-u-lock harnesses look so poor quality, and now I need to find a way to make this prosthesis compatible with my regular leather harness (looking like a Tantus suction cup may do the trick for a base…)

    • Hi, thanks so much for reading!

I agree, I wish there was a RealCock with a smaller base.

And that there was a silicone Vac insert! I’ve actually spoken to 2 US toy makers about this, maybe we’ll see one come about at some point. (Email sales@uberrimedildos.com if you want to spur that maker on in this department :-))

I think the Tantus suction cup insert is too small to stabilize the RealCock in a harness.

I just recently realized that Hankey’s Toys now has a metal + silicone insert for its toys with Vac holes, a stronger possibility. Let me know if you try it out, would love to hear your experience. I need to pick one of these up at some point.

      • Thanks so much for these leads– I’ll email the above company and check out the Hankey’s insert. I appreciate your intelligent & sex-positive work here!

        • Thank you so much for the kind words! Oooh Hankey’s looks pretty back-ordered now, but I definitely need to get on ordering one of those myself in the near future. Feel free to come back and comment with your experience with these gadgets!

  5. What is the (e.g.,) mid-shaft girth measurement (circumference!) for this dildo? And what’s the number for the thickest insertable part?

It’s a pet peeve of mine when people give the diameter/width… Which can obviously mean different things given variance in shape/cylindricality. I don’t say this to knock you–I love your blog!–I just wish dildo folks made a habit of using tape measurements in all their reviews. Thanks and bless you!

    Reply
    • Hi! The RealCock individual descriptions all give the circ. and diameter for widest part of the toy. For Dirk, circ. is 6 inches, for both mid-shaft and widest head point right above the corona.

I actually find diameter the more useful measurement personally, as it’s easier for me to visualize a width across than a circumference around—and diameter is what the front wall of my vag will notice most easily too.

  6. My wife has had wonderfully positive and enlightening results as we have been experimenting with larger sex toys like this recently over the past year or so (penis sleeves and extensions for me to wear during sex, very large dildos, and large vibrators.) Now, after reading your review Felicity, we are very, very excited about ordering a Dirk for her. So we were wondering, are you still as enamored with this toy after a year and half of use since you posted the original review? And, do you think it would be possible for this dildo to be used in a harness that I could wear during sex with her? We have zero experiences using a harness (so not sure if or how everything “fits” in that type of scenario), but she is really intrigued and turned-on by the the idea of me wearing Dirk while making love with her. Honestly, I myself am pretty excited by the possibilities for her, and us, also. Thanks for the great review.

    • Hey! Thank you for reading and sharing, and I’m sorry for the slow reply.

I do still think the RealCock 2’s composition feels fantastic, but I find myself being lazier and not wanting to deal with how chunky the base is a lot of the time. It’s a lot of weight to thrust by hand; I’d asked RealDoll to consider creating a ball-less version with more compact base, but they weren’t interested in the idea, which is disappointing. I’m currently working with a new indie maker who is spot-on with triple-density silicone dildo firmness, but trying to create a toy with a more lifelike finish at the moment — so, something that is great-feeling but also easier to thrust into oneself *or* to strap-on.

I would not not recommend strapping on the RealCocks, especially if you have a penis, because the base is SO large I can’t see there being room.

      • Hey Felicity, thanks so much for the very honest feedback. I think we are going to still go for it as there are a few things about it that are still very intriguing for her (lifelike look and feel for fantasy play, size and length of course, and the ball play). So perhaps it will be good for use riding it (she enjoys cowgirl very much), or mounting it against the wall… and maybe I can participate helping her with the heavy thrusting by hand also. Again, thanks for your great reviews.

  7. I have a non functioning micropenis and wanted to compete with wife’s life partner so I got this and a Doc Johnson vacu-lock harness. What you said in your reviews is spot on. My wife said it feels incredibly realistic inside her. When he cums I can satisfy her for many more orgasms. Awesome!!
