When a dual-density toy works, it works. Basically, the Uberrime Splendid has knocked my socks off. By Uberrime Dildos (sometimes mistyped Uber-rome,1 Splendid is a two-layer toy that’s handmade of platinum silicone in Florida.
As much as I love silicone dildos, finding the right dual-density (two-layer) one for me hasn’t always been a smooth road. It takes a lot of balance to create the perfect two-layer toy! The intent of the soft+hard balance is so that a dildo feels soft and comfy outside, but isn’t floppy / too flexible to feel erect or create impact. The review describes how the Uberrime Splendid almost feels like it understands my vagina’s needs! There are two big reasons why I think the Uberrime Dildos’ Splendid is a success:
- Its bold shape (G-spot!), and
- Its realistic balance of silicone densities (something that’s very important to me!).
Splendid’s G-Spotting Shape
This review covers the original medium size Splendid Dual Density Dildo, which has a simply classic shape. It’s obvious to me that the toy was sculpted with G-spot stimulation in mind (though of course it can be used for prostate stim too). The Splendid’s max. diameter—a little over 1.6″—isn’t too much larger than average size for a penis or dildo. But the Splendid’s mushroom head makes it feel imposing. The crown both juts out and leans forward, to provide just the right amount of pressure for me. And the toy’s curve wraps around my pubic bone and then the prominent head aims right for the most sensitive part of my vagina.
The Splendid also has a slight secondary ridge under the head. I like it and can feel it when I’m really focusing, but overall it’s overshadowed by the larger coronal ridge above it.
The Firmness
The outer layer of the Splendid tests at 5A-shore durometer, while the core is 20-shore. (Not that the core makes a big difference in the feel, but you can bend the dildo just a little bit. It’s not rock solid.) This means that the outside feels a little squishier than most Tantus O2 dildos (whose outer layer is Tantus Super Soft silicone). But it’s not super-duper soft—that would require 2- or 3-shore silicone. If you’re expecting VixSkin-level squashy-ness from Uberrime’s dual-density, you’ll be disappointed.

The Splendid’s squish level is great for me, though, because the big ridge makes an impact even with fast thrusting. (Whereas the VixSkin Maverick’s head, for example, doesn’t do as much for me.) And in this soft-but-cored firmness, I can feel the Splendid’s veiny vertical ridges better than in a truly squishy-squashy silicone. The large center “vein” especially stimulates the mouth of my vag, or the underside of my clit if I pull back a bit farther. I think the texture is a nice touch, but people who like slick toys or minimal stimulation at the mouth of their vag/their anal canal might think this ridgyness is a bit much.
More about Uberrime Splendid’s Silicone
The Splendid has a smooth matte finish in its body, with a glossy base that allows it to stick to really flat surfaces…a little bit. (Don’t expect amazing, lasting suction if you like to ride your toys.) It can be a bit draggy, but no more so than any softer silicone. With a nice water-based lube, the Splendid truly glides.
The metallic pigmentation in the three Splendid colors available at Peepshow Toys is pretty damn attractive! It sparkles in the light. As with Uberrime’s silicone, these pigments are lab-tested and certified skin-safe. I opted for the Pink Pearl color, but the Sapphire Blue and Amethyst were calling to me too… I almost had to flip a coin!
And then medium Splendid was released in four single-color choices too, for $9 less than the two-color scheme.
The bottom of the Uberrime Splendid’s base is glossier than the rest of the toy—which means it sticks better to very smooth surfaces. You may be able to use it as a suction cup if you’re not a serious rider. (That is, you don’t move fast or angle your body sharply.)
More Sizes
Since I came out with this review, the Splendid was released in two other size options: see my full review of the small & large ones here. Basically, the big one is a like a large silicone version of the Njoy Pure Wand for my G-spot: lots of impact.
Here’s the trio all lined up together!
Splendid’s finish is slick but definitely absorbs lube, so pick up some good lube to go with. Also, Splendid is definitely a “G-spot-pressure-all-the-way” toy for me: I sometimes prefer Uberrime’s Supero, when I want more realistic feeling.
Overall Thoughts
I knew after using the Uberrime Splendid Dual-Density Dildo for two whole minutes that it was going to be a winner. I even had to write a comparison between it and the legendary VixSkin Mustang, often named the most realistic G-spot dildo. So I would 100% recommend the Splendid if you’re looking for an attractive G-/P-spot dildo. Its soft-yet-firm texture, pronounced head, and veiny ridges combine to create a toy that’s stimulating but also comfortable while I’m moving it fast.
You can find the medium Splendid here in its original two-color scheme
Or save $10 with the pearlescent single-color options here.
I hadn’t heard of this maker but now I am intrigued!
I didn’t know of this maker either. Interesting. Loving the color combos on the Night King one there especially.
The color combos available for this are lovely
Thanks for going in-depth on the comparison of silicone firmness to Vixskin & O2. None of the other reviews I could find did so & this wqs very helpful to me.
You’re welcome, glad it helped!
Just got this a few days ago, LOVE IT!
Woohoo!
I have just been lusting after one of these forever!!
