Solina Prima Dildo Review – 5.5″ Lifelike Dual-Density Silicone

110% the best-feeling mid-sized dildo I have ever handled, the Solina Prima dildo.

I gotta pick an impossible number to emphasize, because: They make realistic dongs that feel this good?! This is like sooooo much closer to “the real thing” versus other synthetic toys — and critically, the Prima’s platinum-cured silicone is super-safe. It’ll neither degrade, nor harbor bacteria over time. Plus, unlike other soft silicone blends, the surface is neither sticky nor gooey.

The Solina Prima dildo is simply **the one** if you’re looking for a first realistic phallus toy, and/or you want it to have balls too for a complete package.

But I do still think the 1 other average-girth Solina dildo is very good––that’s the Solina Mega, size “large”—so I’ll stack those two superb options up to compare them for you. Or see my all Solina dildos tested, complete guide.

Solina Prima Summary

Best beginner real. dildo with balls. Average size = comfortable for most vaginas, not too long, not too thick. Balls are present, can touch the clit; still easy to grip and thrust.

How I Review & How I’m Funded

Body-safe only, test-driven for performance. I only recommend toys I’d feel good suggesting to a close friend, and I don’t accept paid reviews, ads, or editorial control. Affiliate links help fund independent testing of 1,300+ vibrators, 600+ dildos, 150+ butt plugs, and plenty of other gear. I tested the Solina Prima 7 times before this review, with emphasis on ergonomics, ease of use, and—most importantly—sensation compared with similar toys, so you can decide if it’ll work for you.

Pros & Cons, Solina Prima

Pros

  • So realistic. Great skin-feel, tight ballsack, lifelike look.
  • Amazing balance of dual-density silicone (soft skin + harder core).
  • Amazing balance of silicones.
  • Skin texture is next-level.
  • Bigger ridge vs. Naked Addiction Dual Density.
  • Flared for anal too.
  • Suction cup base.
  • Body-safe platinum silicone.
  • Ideal medium size will suit most users.

Cons

  • Not strong G-spot stimulation.

The Solina Prima dildo is made of nonporous silicone. It has a 1.5″ diameter × 1.4″ long head, 5.4–5.5″ insertable length, 1.47″ average shaft width, and 7.7″ total height (including the soft silicone ballsack and firm silicone suction cup). The Prima is simple to wash – you only need soap and water. Platinum-cured silicone doesn’t mold, and unlike cheap-o dildos, it will not crack or get grody later!!! No bacteria hangin’ around.

My Experience with the Prima Dildo

Oh hell yeah that feels realistic, I thought after my 1st time trying out the Prima dildo.

Solina Prima ultra realistic silicone dildo in 3 colors
Solina Prima seen in caramel, cocoa, and vanilla skintones.

This dildo exactly lines up with measured median penis size – but it’s now the smallest Solina realistic silicone dildo. That’s a statement about folks buying toys that tend on the bigger side vs. live human erections.

(It me, honestly, since I do love the thick silicone shafts.) In contrast, 6/8 of my IRL female friends (who are shame-free enough to accept informal surveying!) do not have a preference for big dicks.1

Solina Prima is 2nd from left (after Mega L). Mega 2-XL is right-most.

Most importantly, what this means: the Solina Prima is comfortable. The dual-layer silicone, the medium-average size – it’s progress in how darn good a dildo can feel. Close. Cozy. Comfy.

Best, among average-size-ish toys, the Prima’s coronal ridge (crown) feels like more than my original fave (ca. 2019), the Naked Addiction Dual Density:

Prima is easy to use no matter if I’m hyper-sensitive from the second day of a period, or I’m drier, or I’m stressed and in a rare mood where I don’t want expansive vaginal fullness. The Solina Prima is a breeze to take inside me, because:

Solina Silicone Difference – Skin Feel

The shaft’s skin texture is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced in silicone toys: like look at all this, and this Solina Prima is spot-on realistic more than the others (besides the Solina Megas):

Dual-density means two layers of silicone, joined. That’s soft outside (the skin) and firm inside (the core).

Lots of dual-d dildos exist, but not all have a good surface texture, or a realistic balance between the layers (how thick the outside layer is), or the right-height core. Some have floppy heads, uncored. Others are sticky and you have to apply more lubricant so they don’t create drag (=friction) as they penetrate.

The soft (outside “skin”) silicone is hyper-realistic here.

Solina Prima dildo size vs. hand
The Solina Prima’s size in my hand shows that it’s a median-sized toy.

Soft, supple, slightly squishy – but not flaccid-soft. The only non-perfection is that the core is slightly thin so it bends a bit easier than a fully hard erection does – but all dual-density toys under 1.75″ diameter are like that. (Solina Mega XL is the thinnest toy I’ve found with the best core balance.)

It is a polymer, not a living creature, but it is darn close once the Solina Prima dildo is inside and being moved for penetration. One huge tip for maximizing the “real feel” of the Prima dildo’s body-safe silicone:

How to Use the Solina Prima Dildo

Many vaginas perceive warmth more immediately than surface texture or hardness. It’s the first thing you’ll probably notice upon inserting a silicone dildo. Their surface will be at room temp., so, around 20-something degrees (F) cooler than your body heat.

So, if you’re going for the truest-to-life feel at inserting the Solina Prima:

#1.🌡️Warm the Prima’s silicone up first. You can do this by running it under warm water for a minute.

#2.💦As flawlessly awesome as the Prima’s silicone finish is – so-not rough or draggy – it needs some lubrication added for maximum comfort.

Use a good body-safe lubricant for comfort with the Solina Prima — hybrid lubricant shown here.

If you’re wet naturally, you might be OK without lube for this one. If you go through wet vs. dry periods vaginally (I do, with hormonal cycles), then have your lube ready. And if using the Solina Prima for anal penetration, you will 100% definitely need lubricant.

I strongly recommend Sliquid Silk because it does last better, it has a milky look that can be seen as cum-like, and it has a decent osmotic balance – it doesn’t despoil the vaginal / rectal epithelium (protective skin lining).

#3.🦪And last, don’t forget that clitoral stimulation & warmup are super-helpful in achieving orgasm, if you’re a clit & vag-owner.

How to Position – Forward vs. Backward

Top or bottom?? The most important positioning decision for the Solina Prima is whether the dildo with balls is gonna face the front or the back of your body.

  • Balls facing backward: You’ll get the Prima’s noticeable ridge on the “spot” side of your hole – capable of stimulating the G-spot, or the prostate. It’s a light touch for pretty-good spot stimulation, but not as impactful here as the Spotta, Maxima, or the 2 larger Mega dildos by Solina.
  • Balls facing forward (toward the clit & belly side of the body): This is my favorite way because I like how the tight scrotum (=ballsack) slams into my clit, right underneath, as I thrust the Prima dildo manually. The scrotum texture is… amaze-balls. 🧀😄

Option #2 is for the smacking balls, rubbin’ down on my clit as I jerk in the Solina Prima!

Care & Cleaning Solina Silicone

To clean Solina silicone toys, you only need your normal handsoap + running water.

Special soaps & cleaners are not needed. They’re gimmicks and/or cross-sells, since normal soap already creates micelles that first trap bacteria and other microbes, surrounding them and separating from the silicone they rest on; and then the micelles are washed down the drain with running water. Literally every soap is antibacterial if you scrub it over a surface under running water.

Of course it’s waterproof too! Solina Prima dildo suction cupped, left in hand, vs. Maxima, right.

Wash for about 30 seconds, like a good thorough hand-washing. Focus a lil bit on the Prima’s balls’ texture. Shake the water off, and let the dildo dry: it’ll be clean as new, and safe for decades + of play.

Prima vs. Solina Mega

Two jumbo differences between these two Solina dildos that match median penis girth:

Solina Prima dildo vs. solina mega dildo showing size and balls
  • Balls. Silicone scrotum’s obvious in the Prima. Do you want balls on your dildo? Consider:
    1. ✅Balls pro: Can offer external stimulation, like clitoral. I get clit sensation easily by flipping Prima, so its balls are rubbing under my clit.
    2. ❌Balls con: Slightly harder to grip – truest if you have smaller hands. The Prima’s balls are tight enough that they’re not much trouble for me to hold, but r marginally more bulky if my partner wants to thrust it into me – just 15% harder to hand onto and angle.
    3. 🟡Balls con or draw: For strap-on harness play, balls sometimes can get in the way. It depends on the particular harness set-up, how the dildo attaches to the harness; and whether the balls stick out a lot. I personally prefer to have more dildo length for pegging strap-on play, though the balls work well enough with some harnesses (hence this isn’t a definite pro or con, it just depends). Look how it looks with the Body Dock suction strap-on, for example:
Solina Prima dildo on strap-on dock harness
Solina Prima’s medium size shows up nicely in a strap-on harness with the balls outside.
  • Shaft length. Extra length can be for penetration itself, or the extra inches on the Solina Mega Large can be a handle – you wrap your fingers around it + the suction cup! Solina Mega L. has over an inch more insertable length vs. Solina Prima: that’s 6.75 inches for Solina Mega Large versus 5.5 inches for Solina Prima.
  • Foreskin fold: Not a big differentiating factor, but the lil dip of rolled-down skin here in the Mega Large represents retracted foreskin. It’s a gentle texture; only slightly present to my senses when I thrust slowly. In contrast, the Solina Prima is clearly a circumcised penis.

Overall, it’s like trying to pick one favorite ice cream flavor. Like…how can I possibly choose? But, to boil it down: If you really want rubbing outside stimulation from the balls, the Solina Prima is your winner. But if you want more length, then the Solina Mega Large’s extra 1.25 inches will be your best selection.

Recap & Rating the Solina Prima Dildo

The Solina Prima is my beginner dildo pick #1 for full phallus form fans. (It’s got balls + the ultra-real shaft!) As realistic as they come – truly, lifelike like I didn’t know under-$50 dildos could possibly be 5 years ago.

For anyone wanting that average lifelike size, in a penis-representing dildo with balls, I’ve never found anything better – actually, never even anything as good. It’s insane how Solina silicone feels as good, sometimes better, than the $600 RealCock I got years back – while the Solina Prima costs $550 less and is not a pain in my ass to jerk in due to a bulky base. In contrast, the Solina Prima is easier to move manually: jiggling, thrusting, and grinding on its softness.

Fun per dollar value:
The 1st dildo to get. Good for simulating sex if single, good for safer 3-some play if you’re in a couple (no bacteria, no yeast, no viruses – no condom needed!). Just solid all-around penetration. Only downside: not if you crave bigger or thicker, since it’s median-sized.

Incredibly easy to handle and use. Great compact average size, grippable balls r just enough for my clit stimulation, and the silicone feels so damn good. Lifelike shaft look – very accurate circumcised penis.

NOTE

Solina Prima

The Solina Prima dildo is my #1 pick if you're looking for a first realistic phallus toy, and/or you want it to have balls too. Complete testing & comparison vs. other lifelike dildos.

Product Brand: Solina Toys

Editor's Rating:
4.95

Pros

  • Highly realistic.
  • Amazing balance of dual-density silicone.
  • Skin texture level is ideal.
  • Flared for anal too.
  • Suction cup base.
  • Body-safe platinum silicone.
  • Medium size is ideal for most users.

Cons

  • Not strong G-spot stimulation.
  1. One good friend does prefer smaller than average peens; that’s legit, too! No one disagreed that technique (“how you use it”) and concern for giving pleasure are the essential features in a penis-having partner, the true must-haves. (Which is basically, “not being an @sshole.” Also, being able to openly communicate!) The stat that between 77% and 84% of cis-women surveyed don’t care about penis size seems fairly accurate, though I would note that leaves roughly 20% who do have a size preference.

  1. I have been considering the prima or the solina large. Do you think there is enough difference to get both or are they too similar to the point i should get one?

    Reply
    • Yeah, I think the head shapes and the amount of skin folds differ – and just having balls (Prima) versus having more length (Mega Large) is a real contrast.

You might be happy with just one of them, but there are also noticeable differences between the two.

  2. Another great review. I have the Mega L and XL (though haven’t tried the XL yet), but then they came out with these (the ones with balls) and now I’m considering the Prima or Spotta. I just wish they’d make these in Toffee color like that do the Megas. Seems weird that they don’t.

  3. Thanks for the review, it’s definitely very helpful. The solina prima is what I’m looking for; realistic, suction cup, dual density silicone, body safe, skin-like, average sized dildo.

But unfortunately I’m from Europe and although the dildo + lubricant only costs about 55$, the shipping to my country elevates that to 104$, and after fees, taxes and other stuff, I estimate it could reach ~140$. It’s way too much just to receive it.

I was wondering, do you have any recommendations like the solina brand, but from companys that have a distributor located in Europe? I found the Strap on me sliding skin dildo but couldn’t find a review as comprehensive as yours, so I’m not sure. I know about vixskin, but those are usually +100$. I would really appreciate it if you could give us some advice, we’re new to sex toys :”)
