Best Thrusting Dildo Guide – I Tested 48 Thrusting Toys

5 years ago, I started exploring thrusting dildos — the best thrusters made only of body-safe silicone.

After personally testing 48 thrusting dildos, and handling boxes more of thrusting rabbit vibrators that left me unimpressed, I’ve reached firm conclusions about how hard these automated dildos play.😉 Which ones should you consider, and which ones to skip?

First, What is a thrusting dildo?

Billed as “portable sex machines,” each thrusting sex toy includes a dildo attached onto a small machine body. For automatic motion, of course: jerking backing and forth, in-and-out. Lazier penetration for the win?!

But these mini thrusters are so different, too. Their thrust-length ranges from 0.25 inches to 3 inches, and their pounding force varies! Here I recap the best thrusting dildos I’ve tested between 2018 and 2023:

• Fleshy-feeling shaft: Naked Addiction Freak (realistic) or Demon (fantasy). Body-safe silicone that’s soft and forgiving; fleshy, but with extra ripples for G-spot stimulation. 1″ thrust length, 7 vibrating functions. $81 with code FELICITY.

Handheld thrusters are smaller, lighter, and cheaper (in nearly all cases) vs. a premium sex machine. Between $80 and $150 USD, you’ll find many safe options—that’s versus the $400 that a premium, heavy-duty sex machine starts at.

Naked Addiction Thrusting Vibrating Dildos

Fleshiest, comfiest silicone. Formerly called Naked Addiction Freak, this “7.5 inch” thrusting dildo’s silicone still makes this “Freak” stand out from the crowd—in a good way.

It’s the softest, silkiest feel I’ve found in a self-thrusting dildo or vibrator. It’s padded, forgiving. The extra lines under the Freak’s head aren’t ultra-realistic, but add more *tug* if you like G-spot stimulation like me. At one inch thrust length, it’s good but not dramatically forceful—and it’s easy to hold and position still.

But…I’ve now found an even-freakier friend in the Naked Addiction Noir “Demon” dildo, which I love because bigger head. This 8.6″ thrusting, vibrating dildo’s head is wider & longer, with “fantasy dildo” textures down the shaft. It also pulses faster than the Freak, up to 150 thrusts per minute, which is bangin’. Advice: The current Naked Addiction 7.5″ Thrusting Vibrator only pulses up and down straight in 2023, it doesn’t curve forward. If you do want some swirly 🌀 motion, look to our next selection…

Revolution Gyrating Thrusters

Unique gyrating-pulsing thrusting, so fast! The motion here is crazy-fun, I’ve never seen such intense pulsing in a handheld dildo. Auto G-spot massage, as Revolution Tsunami’s head bumps & quakes inside. It’s firmer silicone for pressure, and it vibrates while stroking the spot. See the quaking motion here. Now tied (with the Demon, above) as my favorite thrusting toy to orgasm on! This one’s for days I want harder-pressure G-spot massage.

4 shaft shapes are options in the Revolution line: (1) My favorite, Tsunami, is a double-dildo with 1 bulbous head & 1 streamlined head; (2) a gentler G-spot curve in Earthquake; and (3) pulsing anal beads in the Revolution Hurricane. With Tsunami, I get off hardest when rubbing my clitoris against the rounded “gyro-bulb” in the middle, as the shaft thumps inside my vagina. It gives the widest range of motion of any gyro-pulsating dildo.

Each Revolution gyrating vibrating thruster includes a remote. The silicone is smooth, a firm & thin coat over the hard motor cores. Only downside: These have 35 minutes run-time after a 2-hour charge (not very long: the fast movement drains energy!).

Hismith “basic” sex machine

Best entry-level thrusting sex machine. The Auxfun basic machine on Hismith puts out up to 300 real strokes a minute (2.3″ thrust length): a decent & realistic thrusting length. That’s like the best Velvet Thruster thrust length, except $120 cheaper.

This lighter sex machine is essentially a dildo-gun that’s permanently mounted atop a flat base. Then, you adjust the angle it’s penetrating at, with a range of almost 83 degrees. It’s best for missionary-esque style penetration, with a pillow or two behind your back.

It’s easier to keep using than a thrusting dildo, since you don’t have to wedge the Hismith/Auxfun machine’s base against pillows / hold it firmly in your palm to keep it moving forward. With a 24-watt motor, it’s a good beginner thrust machine, but does not match the 100-watt (mute-turbine) motor of the Premium models for pounding power.

🛑Safety note here: The dildos included with these cheaper sex machines are thermoplastic elastomer—which hangs onto bacteria more (and cannot be fully sanitized.) I recommend searching out the “passey” model on Hismith and getting the one with suction cup attachment – so you just anchor your separately-purchased silicone dildo on that. (Solina Mega dildos are the best ultra-realistic buy, $39.99 to $59.99 depending on which size dual-density silicone dong you choose.)

Body Dock Thruster machine

Lightweight mini machine with adjustable angle. The Body Dock Thruster machine’s equipped with two suction cups: 1.) one sticks the machine to the floor, and 2.) the other is a docking plate to hold your preferred suction cup dildo. It fits all standard sized dildos, so, anything that’s not a monster fantasy dildo.

My very best realistic thrusting experience that’s not a full-on fuck machine here: kneeling slightly over the Body Dock thruster, as a Solina Mega angles upward into my p*ssy.

Also, even lazier, is angling its thrusting downward as far as possible. This thrusting machine’s suction cup allows slightly over 60-degrees range of motion – so, angling it downward is better for re-creating missionary.

The thrust-length and speed are both pretty good. (It’s not a Hismith Premium.) It’ll get the job done, but it’s not a bang-fest of maximum intensity power. You must give your dildo room to move: if you have its tip wedged into the back of your hole, it will not continue going. You gotta pull the toy back an inch-and-a-half, so it gets its full stroke length on.

Velvet Thruster Prime, XL, and Mini

Early innovation. Velvet Thruster started off the thrusting dildo craze in 2018 with their Velvet Thruster Jackie model, then released the Mini Teddy thruster soon after.

Their patented screw-mechanism twirls inside a silicone shaft, propelling it about 2 inches back-and-forth, back-and-forth. At a time when the Stronic pulsators (less than half an inch range of motion) were their only competition for small, portable thrusters, the Velvet Thruster’s longer stroking movement was a big damn deal.

Excited by this dick-like apparatus that would thrust into me automatically, I had a blast receiving Velvet Thruster Mini—once I put a soft-silicone penis extender on top, so it’d feel more realistic than the included firmer silicone. If you do not opt for the Prime with $30 suction cup add-on, then: Positioning a Velvet thrusting dildo to ride on top / to thrust missionary style requires either towels or pillows to wedge it in place.

Lovense Gravity Long-Distance Thruster

App-controlled thrusting dildo. Lovense Gravity is the only smaller thrusting toy with long-distance app control: the feature Lovense dominates the Bluetooth vibrator market with. Lovense co-opted Velvet Thruster’s screw mechanism for their similar product; then sourced a very rumbly vibrating motor to include in Gravity.

The Gravity is available in one nonphallic shaft option and in one color, bright red. The shaft feel is unremarkable. I would recommend it only if you’re really into the Lovense app already, maybe because you have a long-distance lover; the app is very easy to control. RC Fucking Machine with Vibration

My boyfriend calls it “the terminator dick.” RC Fucking Machine’s got longest thrusts (almost 2.5 inches thrust length) of any thrusting vibrator — and its spade head ♠️ feels like so much pressure going in and out. Very firm G-spot massage.

Best part: I can ride directly on top of the dildo. RC Fuck-Machine’s suction cup is the most adjustable, enabling 95° range of motion. Meaning, I can re-create everything from cowgirl style, to doggy-style & prone-bone positions. (Tip: have a couple pillows ready, to place in front of your body during doggy-esque thrusting dildo positions!)

While on top, I use the remote to change between the 3 thrust speeds & 10 vibration functions. Overall, its auto-thrusting is long, not super-fast; and the vibration is fairly strong (7/10) and high-pitched. It’s the bulky, hard G-spot massage that makes RC Fucking Machine effective. Note: Not for folks who need discreet toys, as the RC dildo-machine is not quiet.

Wild Rose Vibrator with Thrusting Bullet-Dildo

Dual-stimulation with tongue licking! This is my favorite Rose vibrator, personally; I prefer the wide, licking tongue for a more natural feel than a pointy clit-stimulator. Throw in the quick-pulsing vaginal vibrator for dual stimulation (of my clitoris and Gspot) and it’s some sweet lazy masturbation.

The Rose dildo’s thrusting is like pulsation: it’s a short length. This lets it stay inside the vagina, not thrust itself out. My tip: Use while wearing headphones or earplugs, because this Thrusting Rose squeaks & creaks.

Dual Rider Thrusting Ride-On Vibrator

Grinding vibrator with vaginal-thrusting peg. Grinder toys are for clitoral stimulation, usually: but why not make ’em penetrate, too? I like that you can easily sit atop othe Thrust & Grind Dual Rider, cowgirl style; it’s simple, and I have control.

The vibration is fairly strong; it works for me clitorally. I only wish the thrusting mini-shaft wasn’t so small. (It also needs to be well-lubricated to avoid the silicone folds pinching at my vaginal opening.) To avoid this, I make it realistic, with a silicone extender. But…the thrusting is prone to stalling when you sit on it. I hope this tech improves in coming years (so I’ll be coming harder!).

Thrusting Dildo Pros & Cons vs. Sex Machines

Thrusting dildos are lighter, smaller, and (almost always) cheaper than fucking machines. But fuck machines do pound much harder, better ones do not stall out, and they’re wall-powered so you don’t have to recharge them. When deciding between the two levels of thrusting sex machine, consider how much force you crave from your penetration.

Pros

• Easier to carry & hide than a full sex machine.
• Easy to hide in a drawer, lockbox, or backpack with travel lock.
• No assembly required.
• Typically body-safe silicone.
• Remote control included with most models.

Cons

• Can be very noisy. (Except for the Stronic thrusters.)
• Will run out of battery power (needs to be recharged).
• May need to be braced to keep moving forward.
• More defect-prone than machine with steel thrusting rod.
• More likely to stall when too much force is applied, or if used anally.

How to Use a Thrusting Dildo

Thrusting dildos offer more thrusting pressure if you either (1) hold onto their base as they propel themselves forward into your body; or (2) prop the base against pillows/towel/blanket. This prevents the vibrator / thruster from moving itself backwards out of your vagina or rectum.

For smaller toys, like the Fun Factory Stronics: only a T-shirt or small towel may be required, to slightly lift the short handle up—improving G-spot pressure, as the shaft angles into the dildo receiver’s front vaginal wall.

A couple thrusting toys do not require special positioning: Wild Rose (because the thrusting vibrator works fully inserted inside the vagina); and with Revolution Tsunami, I can close the gyrating thruster ball between my thighs and it’ll pulse away with no hands, no pillows, etc.

Other Thrusting Dildos (That Didn’t Make the Cut)

• Maia Max & Monroe smooth thrusting dildos with suction cup & vibration. These are easy-anal sized: Slim shafts, 1.2″ diameter. The pretty-good suction cup can be attached & positioned at various angles, or removed. Better vibration than most thrusters.
• Naked Addiction 8″ Thrusting Dildo (6.75″ insertable length). 0.25″ thrust length and soft silicone, and only the top couple inches self-propel. Girthier than Naked Addiction Freak; does not vibrate.
• Thrust in Me soft-silicone thruster by Evolved. Very, very similar to the Naked Addiction 8″, except 6.5″ insertable length.
• FemmeFunn Cadenza. Super-quick pulsing tip; 0.1 to 0.25″ thrust length, moves almost as fast a Stronic, almost vibrates like a jackhammer on high speed. Fun. Could be cheaper.
• Evolved “Love thrust” and “Too Hot to Handle” thrusting dildos with suction cup mounts. Dildo-guns with suction cup attachments; “Too Hot” includes a warming function and lots of shaft ripples. OK, not-great 0.7″ thrust length and middle-of-the-road vibration strength.
• Infinite Thrusting Sex Machine. This is like a sword’s length, with actually a quite-long stroke, too: 3 inches! But, the flip-side is that it thrusts more slowly—from 60 to 78 thrusts per minute, vs. comparable thrusters reaching twice the speed. Mediocre vibration.
• Pipedream “Fantasty for Her” Thrust-Her. Mediocrity at its finest, I say with snark.
• Zalo King & Zalo Desire. IMO the most overpriced thrusting dildos. Fancy look. The King’s promises of 40 motions per second and 5mm (1.97″) thrust distance sound amazing, but are not accurate in my experience; while the Zalo Desire is like a weak Fun Factory Stronic pulsating dildo (magnetic-propelled).
• Blush Temptasia Trixie & Lazarus. Nothing remarkable; under an inch thrust length and not-great vibration. (Dr. Skin Silicone Dr. Grey is similarly “eh” except it has soft & sticky silicone.)
• Pillow Talk Feisty. BMS Factory’s most half-assed attempt at a thrusting dildo. It is super-soft silicone like the Naked Addiction thrusters, but thrust distance is shorter and the vibration does not live up to the “PowerBullet” vibrator name (best-carried by my favorite vibrator ever, P.T. Sassy).
• Fort Troff thrusting dildos × Doc Johnson. I have not felt this dildo, but right off I read, “State-of-the-art lithium battery” immediately followed by “run time is 45 minutes,” and a bullshit alarm began screeeeeching in my head. Like what kinda innovative battery has less than an hour lifespan?! That’s just a normal fuckin’ battery, yo (everybody uses li-ion batteries for vibrators). Hence, I’d ignore likely-nonsense claims about this product’s “Turbo Torque Engine” too.

Self-thrusting butt plugs are also a sex toy category; they tend to have a shorter thrust length (with a jiggly effect!), approximately one-quarter inch, to stay inside the anal canal while you’re sitting on top of them. Full anal thrusting plug comparison here!
