Gyro-quake, they say. It’s true: Impressions New York has hell-yeah speed, over 5 pulses per second. It’s hummingbird-wings “my eyes+brain can’t process this” fast. And its vibration is peppy. But, surprise, “New York” isn’t perfect. My experience testing this new thrusting vibrator:

Impressions New York belongs to a new sex toy category: automatic dildos that pulse-thrust via a rotating ball. My Experience
I was prepared to like the Impressions New York because this pulsating-thrusting vibrator has (1) a more phallic (penis-like) shape; and (2) separate vibration control. (No other pulsating dildos do!) Since Blush (Impressions’ manufacturer) can source strong vibrating motors, I was hopeful…
And, both Impressions New York’s functions (gyrating-pulsing and vibration) are good. They perform well, they’re not underpowered.
Function #3, this Impressions dildo’s strongest speed, is the most impactful. It has way more moving power vs. the Stronic Real by Fun Factory ($169 typical price), whose pulsation now feels last-generation.
I’ve enjoyed testing the New York pulsator-vibe this week. It’ll be well-suited to folks who prefer precise G-spot targeting + real-speedy motion. This pulsating dildo won’t join my favorite toys, since my personal preferences don’t match Impressions New York’s:
- Firm silicone. I like realistic dildos made of soft silicone because they’re gentler & more natural-feeling. More “fleshy.” Impressions New York is a standard-for-vibrators silicone density, about a 20A Shore, with very little give. (See the Neo Elite 7.5″ers for an example of more-lifelike dual-density silicone.)
- Targeted coronal ridge. New York’s ridge drops and comes to a strong point, focusing pressure over ≈ 0.3 inches diameter. I like my ridges wider.
- Reinforced, rigid shaft. The Impressions’ shaft is well-supported, meaning it’s not flexible. (This may make the product more durable over time.) But, I like the gentler, rounded flex of the Revolution gyro-thrust toys—their mid-shafts aren’t girded by a hard support structure. This is all because I usually avoid very focused🎯 G-spot stimulation, since my G-spot is very sensitive. Many people feel differently & prefer the *zing-bang* of, say, Njoy Pure Wand’s targeted weighty bulb (which overwhelms me easily). Impressions New York is not as hard as stainless steel, but it does aim a significant amount of pressure via its notched ridge.
New York’s suction cup base is functional, so you can use it hands-free. You must stick it to a flat, smooth, horizontal surface like smooth flooring, a large bathtub corner, or a toilet seat. (It’s likely to fall off a wall or door; a problem shared by the NS Revolution gyrators.)
I’m able to stick mine in the corner of my bathtub/shower, where it pummels me for about 5 minutes until my quads start feeling the burn. Lying back in bed is an easier position physically. There, I must grip either the rotating-ball or the accordion-folds “handle”+suction cup to keep the Impressions pulse-pulse-pulsing forward; or else wedge the base against a pillow.
For ease of use, Impressions New York earns a solid C. Two functional improvements could be made in future pulsating-thrusters by Blush:
- The control button placement is not user-friendly. Control buttons should appear farther down the rotating bulb, not on the insertable shaft.
- Fully independent function control. It’d be a nice add-on if one could power on just the vibration (if desired), rather than needing to power on the pulsating motor first to activate vibration.
Vs. Revolution pulsating dildos
Impressions NY and Revolution Earthquake/Tsunami/Hurricane all move hella fast, over 300 pulses per minute. Both sway back and forth some, but Impressions NY’s shaft is more reinforced. So, it’s less flexible and arcs forward less-dramatically than Revolution pulsing sex toys: compared below.

Gyration & Vibration Functions and Power
The “New York” gyrating dildo has 9 vibration functions (3 steady speeds + 6 patterns) and 3 pulsing functions.
Its vibration is stronger-than-average in the world of vibrating dildos. (It is not strong compared to large wand vibrators, so what toys you’ve already experienced will change your own perspective here!) Its power beats the Colours Pleasures vibrating dildos, for example. Yet, Impressions New York is not as potent as the vibration-only Impressions sex toys: “Las Vegas” is particuarly powerful. Impressions New York’s vibration reminds me most of Lovense Lush 3’s.

Button Control & Ease of Function Changes
Impressions New York’s “dual motors” can mostly be controlled apart from each other. You do have to power on at least level #1 of the pulsing “gyro-quake” motion, and then you can flip through the 9 vibration options separately after that. So:
- Press on the power button for 3 seconds. Impressions New York will start pulsing-quaking.
- Press the power button again to move to pulsation speed #2, or:
- Press on the other button for a couple seconds to make it vibrate.
- Keep tapping the power button to cycle through the gyrating functions; or keep tapping the vibrating motor’s button to cycle through all 9 vibration functions.
Both control buttons are located on the toy’s insertable shaft. You’ll get approximately 4.85 inches usable length between the toy’s tip and the vibration control button. Or, insert the buttons and get ≈5.5 inches usable length.
Care and Cleaning
To clean, wash Impressions New York’s silicone shaft in the sink under running water, scrubbing down with your normal handsoap.
Don’t submerge the entire toy, and avoid splashing water into the crinkly spring area to be extra safe. Why? That accordion-folds-like silicone has two air-vents, meaning that you could damage New York’s motor if you get a bunch of water inside. I prefer to wash this Impressions with its tip angled lower vs. its suction cup, so gravity keeps water away from the toy’s airhole “ventilation system.”
How to Recharge
Whenever you don’t see two raised metallic nodes on a vibrator (for magnetic charging), then look for a circle marked in the silicone, beside the letters DC.
You’re going to stick the charging prong right into that circle. Impressions New York required me to push hard to get the prong in. That accomplished, the pulsator’s control buttons will light up. Charge for 2.5 hours for a 40 minute run-time.
Recap and Rating
Impressions New York’s more-realistic shape is a fascinating contrast with how its head pummels faster than any human penis could possibly move.
Part of a new wave of speedier pulsating dildos, New York moves so fast you can’t even see all the pulses on high speed. I started thinking of hummingbird wings, it’s so much faster than the Stronic pulsating dildos.
