Naked Addiction Freak Dildo Review: Thrusting, Screwing Vibrator

EASY. Naked Addiction Freak is the most satisfying handheld thrusting dildo I own. Finally, a platinum silicone dildo with a soft skin feel and self-propelled movement. And, the Freak’s base isn’t bulky or tough to position; you just, literally, grab it by the balls — or hang onto / use the suction cup base.

The moment we’ve all been waiting for? I have, at least: waited for a thrusting dildo that not only looks realistic, but feels more realistic too. It’s smaller, and simpler, than other thrusting dildos. Plus the PowerBullet vibes running inside the Naked Addiction Freak add to the party.

I’ll review the Naked Addiction Freak’s advantages and disadvantages vs. other thrusting dildos. In short: it’s a good deal for under $90 (and see my discount code in the recap) if you love auto-penetration.

Freak Thrusting Dildo Advantages

First, what does this thrusting dildo do?

7 thrusting, pulsing intensities come inside the Freak’s soft silicone shaft. Three steady speeds of up-and-down, in-and-out motion; with vibration running alongside.

It screw-thrusts up to 1.5 inches up and down.

You can cycle through the 7 functions via the included remote control, or using a button underneath the balls.

It Vibrates!

The “PowerBullet” vibes are built into the 7 thrust functions if you’re using the control button under the balls. BUT, use the remote control to change the vibration intensity apart from the thrusting. The remote’s top button lets you cycle through the 7 thrusting functions (3 more “steady”, 4 more rhythmic), then the bottom button lets you choose between 7 vibration functions (3 steady, 4 patterns). The vibration is like that of a stronger bullet vibrator, reminiscent of the BMS Essential Bullet.

Soft Platinum Silicone

And the highlight here, the extra-soft silicone. The Naked Addiction Freak is essentially that most realistic dildo type — dual-density silicone — with a very firm core (the motor body is hard). The Freak’s outside silicone is platinum cured, in the same squishy density I first loved in the Naked Addiction Dual-Density (nonvibrating) Dildo. Like, this stuff really close to 00-30 “fantasy soft.” Most users will think that super-soft outside seems most lifelike. For example, Vixen’s VixSkin is über-squishy and has a huge fan following for its realism.

Remember, silicone is the only body-safe sex toy material that can be soft. And it’s best to support reliable toymakers too, since sellers on Amazon can claim a (porous) TPE vibrating dildo is higher-quality silicone, so they can sell it cheaper amidst cut-throat price wars. There’ve been a lot of these “telescopic” type realistic dongs on Amazon for several years, but I’ve never wanted to promote those, given the uncertainty about the materials and quality. And I’ve never seen any one that swirls so dramatically as the Freak!

The Freak’s silicone is pretty smooth overall. The bunched up foreskin-esque ridges under the head are the part you’re most likely to feel. (Except for the textured balls, whose bumpy effect I like feeling under my fingers!)

Naked Addiciton FREAK thrusting dildo skin texture (2)

When I saw the Freak product photo, before it came in the mail, I was sad that the coronal ridge wasn’t more pronounced, for better G-spot stimulation. (Good G-spot & P-spot toys always angle forward / have a head that sticks out forward.) But the series of 3 skin-ripples under the Freak’s corona add some G-spot pleasure. It’s not a true G-spot dildo still, ah well. It does feel great screwing deeper, farther back vaginally, like around the A-spot and in front of my cervix.

Because this is a fairly long toy, at 6.5 inches insertable length, fully extended. It gets up to 1.5 inches diameter in the lower shaft when the silicone puffs out on the Freak’s downstroke. Normally, the shaft width is in the 1.25 inches / 1.3 inches diameter range. So, compared to median penis size, it’s long (93rd percentile) when extended all the way out, and slightly thin; but expands to average girth when the shaft’s at its shortest thrusting point.

My previous adventure in soft silicone thrusting dildos was engineering a large, squishy dildo dildo bundle that I’ve called VixThrust: a VixSkin extender over a Velvet Thruster Mini. Here’s why I’m turning away from it as my top thrusting dildo recommendation now, since I’ve gotten my hands on the Naked Addiction Freak.

The Naked Addiction Freak is small and easy to hold.

The Freak’s made me remember why I liked thrusting dildos in the first place. They were: solo penetration that I didn’t have to use my wrist strength to accomplish! 😄

When I was first using the high-power Velvet Thruster dildos, it was a joy. Till I realized that:

  1. those “mini sex machines” were easy to kill (they do carry a 1-year warranty, but are defect-prone); and
  2. getting the positioning right was tough, since the Velvet Thruster’s bottom stretched out so far back at full thrust, and will leap out of my vag if it’s not braced against something.

Almost miraculously, the Naked Addiction Freak is a full 2 inches shorter than the Velvet Thruster Mini (when both are fully extended) — and yet the Freak delivers 2.5 inches more of comfortable insertable length. (With the Mini Thruster, the folds could pinch my labia if angled the wrong way.) And vs. the stronger, longer Velvet Prime series, the Freak is 5 inches shorter total length. I have to use mounds of pillows behind my back to attempt to hold onto that much extension (which is why the Prime’s suction cup base is the favorite position).

But nah, with the Naked Addiction Freak I can be the comfort-loving creature I really am: getting both easy thrusting missionary-style that doesn’t make me contort my arms, and the squishy-soft silicone.

That said, the Freak’s suction cup base works too. I’ve sat on a bathtub corner and used it. Was fun for a few minutes. The only issue there is that Freak’s head will stop twerking so hard if I sit on the full length. The dildo is 6.5 inches fully extended, while my vag is less than 6 inches long, straight in. If it’s got nowhere to go, it’s not going anywhere, right?! I haven’t yet managed to stall out the Naked Addiction Freak by clenching around it, so that’s good. I have a tendency to halt thrusting dildos when I start orgasming hard on them, with my natural contractions.

Yes, it is compatible with some harnesses. The balls will just hang down. I’m wearing it in a SpareParts Joque in this demo (a great harness).

It’s also NOT TOO LOUD.

The Naked Addiction Freak’s volume ranges between 42 and 47 decibels (not inserted, measured from a foot away). When inserted, it’s a bit quieter; playing music or TV would drown out the noise from the next room. This is a normal mid-range-powerful vibrator operating volume; quieter than a wand vibrator for sure.

Honestly, that’s like a blessing granted to me by the Freak. Because a big Velvet Thruster and Maia Max issue is their noisy operation. I did a thrusting dildo demo once, and top comments mentioned the noise level. I gave up on thrusting dildos in 2020, when I was quarantined all the time with my parents and my kids. It’s really tough to use those earlier thrusting dildos discreetly. My Hismith fucking machine is even much quieter!

The Downsides

Since it was updated in 2023, the Freak now has a longer run-time. More battery life per charge, which is awesome because the old model only carried 35 minutes of thrust-power within! Now, it’s an hour / 60 minutes battery life per charge.

It’s USB rechargeable, so just have your cord handy. The cable inserts into a marked-out circle on the underside of the balls, next to the letters DC. The directions have a diagram for this. (The Freak’s remote takes a CR2032 battery, which is a long-lasting type that should remain working in the remote for months at a time.)

It’s not waterproof, but you can wash it in the sink, preferably head downward. The one vulnerable point that makes it not waterproof is the air vent, on the top backside of the suction cup. The product instruction sheet clearly points out its location too, since you don’t want to get a bunch of liquid in there.

Contrary to the product “Cleaning” instructions, silicone is 100% safe without toy cleaners. Plain soap and water is great for normal washing. 70% isopropyl alcohol is also safe for effectively sanitizing platinum-cure silicone — again, the only caveat with the Freak being that you shouldn’t get liquid into the air vent, or you’ll risk damage.

Naked Addiction Freak vs. Other Naked Addiction Dildos

In short, the Freak is hands-down better than the Naked Addiction Rotating Dildo (released 2018). Also an improvement to the Naked Addiction Thrusting (released 2020).

Naked Addiction dildo lineup by BMS Factory_ Dual Density, Freak thrusting dildo, Dual Density Peepshow Toys blue, Rotating, & Thrusting dildos
From left to right: (1) plain Naked Addiction Dual Density; (2) Freak!; (3) NA Dual Density but blue; (4) NA Rotating; (5) NA Thrusting.

Both those toys were eh, so-so for me, nowhere near as good as the non-powered Naked Addiction Dual Density. My issue: the movement in those two older Naked Addiction dildos is just not powerful enough. The Rotating’s action doesn’t match the Freak’s screwing caliber, and the Thrusting’s jiggly-pulsing is short. Really short. Like a third of an inch.

Not to mention, the vibrations in the NA Rotating and NA Thrusting felt like an afterthought. I’m getting more rumbly vibrating strength from the Freak. I’m not going to tell you that the vibration alone is as mind-blowing as the Pillow Talk Sassy. But the vibes have some good power, on steady speeds #2 and #3 especially (accessible through the bottom button of the remote control). Top speed is a bit buzzy, like in the Essential Bullet. Overall, the Freak’s vibes are a good compliment to the thrusting rotation.

Freak Recap & Rating

My insertable sex toy needs run simple: I like it if it (1) feels very penis-like, or (2) is the Pillow Talk Sassy, also by BMS Factory. The FREAK here combines those two fave traits: its soft, skin-like shaft thrusts, while BMS “PowerBullet” vibrations run through it.

I’d admit: the Freak’s thrust speed can’t compete against a serious sex machine. (It’s more like a nice, leisurely, real-world screwing—with spinning head.) But the Freak also doesn’t weight 20 pounds, cost $400, and require special attachments. Again, it’s easy and simple. The worst part? You’ll probably have to recharge it after every use, since you’ve got 35 to 40 minutes run time for each Freak Cock-Screw session.

For all these reasons — great soft feel, easy to use, but short run-time — I’m rating the Naked Addiction Freak: 8.5 out of 10 stars.

  1. Hi,
Great to see a quiet-ish thruster.
I don’t know much about how thrusting dildoes work so pls bear with me a little lol but is the shaft fully solid?
I bought one from Calexotics and it looked solid but part of the shaft was hollow (to allow for the movement I guess).
Are they all like that? I couldn’t get past that.

    Thanks!

    • Hollow, hmmm! No, the Freak has a solid motor core from the bottom of the shaft all the way up, until it’s topped off by half an inch of pure squishy silicone. It does not have any empty spaces.

Was it one of the CalEx Shameless thrusters, or like a thrusting rabbit?

  2. Hi,

It was the Shameless Seducer which is part rabbit.
It was solid at the top but around the middle it was hollow except for the mechanism that thrusts it. I usually like Calexotics but it was weird. Glad they’re not all like that.
    The Freak sounds perfect.

    Thanks.

  3. Where did you find the Naked Addiction Dual Density in blue? I’ve checked a number of online shops but haven’t been able to find it. I would love if the Freak were released in that blue as well, but your review might have convinced me to get a “flesh” colored dildo for the first time ever!

  4. Hi Felicity,
Thank you for your fantastic reviews. They are super informative with all of the details no one else tells a person about!

I am in South Africa and the range of sex toys available here is NOT exhaustive. I had started off looking for a realistic dildo as the toys I have (Lush 3, Svakom Cici, Womanizer Premium 2 and Nova 2) just seem to be missing “something”. I don’t bother with the long-distance part of the Lovense and We-Vibe apps and find that lube seems to be the most difficult thing to keep off my hands when I’d like to use them!! Mostly I use the apps to check on battery life 😂

I had hoped this would be my easiest decision yet after reading your article on The Most Realistic Dildo: Expert Ranking. Sadly I could only find 1 of the makes in your recommendations. It seems BMS is marketed as Swan here and the only Naked Addiction variety I have found so far is this one, the Freak.

Your review makes it sound fantastic so now I’m wondering if it would be worth getting the Freak purely because it is part of the Naked Addiction line and would it work if I wanted to occasionally use it simply as a dildo? Or would it be better to get a plain dildo?

The other makes I’ve found with dual density silicone were Wooomy (can’t find any reviews on this, don’t know if it is branded differently elseware), Adrien Lastic and a rabbit vibrator by Lovehoney. I have found other “Addiction” dildo models by Swan / BMS but only with single density silicone.

I would love to know your thoughts.

Thanks again for an amazing site!

  5. Update:
After umming and ahhing for ages, I decided to go with your amazing review and get this… Oh wow!! I’ve only had chance to try it out once properly so far. The silicone feels amazing and it is the most realistic feeling toy I own. I was also very impressed that it seemed relatively quiet especially for all it’s functions.

As a side note, curiousity got the better of me and I got the Woomy dual density dido ahead of this but was sorely disappointed, feels world’s away from the feeling of the Freak.

The Freak was on a black Friday special (the final push that helped me decide) and I decided to get an Addiction single density dildo with the savings. I am very impressed with the significantly more realistic and lifelike feel of this dildo compared to the Woomy.

  7. Thanks for the review, The Freak sounds like a great product! What are your thoughts on using it anally, or is there a different thrusting dildo you recommend for anal play?

    Reply
    • Hismith machine! Handheld thrusting dildos have much less torque, and are more prone to stalling and breaking if used anally, especially if ridden on anally. A good metal support structure from a full-on fuck machine will save you a lot of headache in the long run, def worth it. (Just not the Lovense machines, which are under-powered for anal & the connection system is a pain.)
