Maia Destiny Clit Suction Vibrator Review

It actually suctions. The Maia Destiny isn’t an air pulsation toy, no โ€” not like a Satisfyer Pro 2 or Womanizer. This Destiny creates a real seal that sucks in, instead of blowing air out. Plus the Destiny has a vibrating tongue and vibrating handle, so you can rotate it and use it like a wand vibrator too.

This is honestly my favorite “oral sex toy” so far: I’ll review Destiny by Maia Toys vs. the similar functions of the Nu Sensuelle Trinitii and the Pipedream Fantasy for Her Ultimate Pleasure. All of ’em are clitoral toys that try to imitate oral sex, with tongues that flap or vibrate, as well as a sucking function.

Destiny Suction Vibe Functions

So what’s the Maia Destiny do? A lot, it seems, with 3 motors: each one geared to perform a different function.

  • 15 tongue vibe functions,
  • 15 suction functions, and
  • 15 body vibration functions (which travel, lightly, through the toy’s mouth too).

All 15-function motors have 3 steady speeds and a whopping 12 patterns.

IMO, this threesome makes Destiny superior as a toy that imitates cunnilingus. Why? Because oral sex doesn’t have to be 100% clit-focused. Good oral, IMO, involves some movement around the vulva too; and a combo of licking, tongue pressure, and sucking. A variety of sensations.

A lot of buyers go into Womanizer-style air pulsators thinking they are like oral sex. Those toys do produce some fabulous orgasms, so I would recommend checking one out. (Especially the We-Vibe Melt!) But there’s something about true suction that’s really amazing too, and the Maia Destiny is very good at that.

It’s one reason why Pipedream’s Fantasy for Her Her Ultimate Pleasure, that 3-in-1 toy with the superlative and unwieldy name, became super-popular a couple years back. It’s basically a moving tongue inside a pussy pump. (Check out Betty Butch’s review if you want to read about the gendered name and the possibly-too-intense suction [YMMV] with no quick-release button.) Like the Destiny, the Her Ultimate Pleasure’s handle vibrates, but in a buzzier timbre. Not a great thing for many clits.

And vs. the fairly popular Nu Sensuelle Trinitii, the Maia Destiny has the advantages of:

  1. a slightly softer mouth (yay comfort),
  2. better suction since the mouth bends to seal better and is fully rounded (vs. a wavy side cut-out with Trinitii),
  3. a tongue that vibrates but does not flap back and forth,
  4. deeper, rumblier vibrations.

I saw the Trinitii at a sex toy convention 2 years ago and was honestly put off by the high-pitched vibes and the firmness of the mouth and tongue. The Trinitii’s been compared to a “three-ring circus…” and I’m sure it can be a fun diversion. I’m just partial to the Destiny’s more flexible mouth… Wow, does it suck, as I’ll describe next.

My Destiny Experience

So I was surprised how well the Destiny sealed in place the first time I used it, even though I’d seen the manufacturer’s product pic with it stuck to a hand. It does indeed stick to my palm, hanging in there for a minute if I’m not moving the hand much:

Maia Destiny Suction Vibrator strong suction
True suction has arrived.

It’s not going to leave hickeys on your vulva or anything, but it’s definitely strong enough to stimulate well.

So how do you use the Maia Destiny? Be prepared before you turn it on, I say! Please do run lube around the Destiny’s mouth before placing it on your vulva. Lube up your labia too, if you’re going to be using it for a while. I like Aqua Jelle with it!

Then position it in the center of your labia, around the clit but so the lip isn’t overshooting your mons; and let it stick. But you’ll figure it out if you get a Destiny: just let it seal and start sucking, then adjust as needed.

My favorite part of the suction is detaching the seal, because it makes this little sucky sound (which sounds sexy, even over the suction motor’s noise) and I love the POP and TUG as the seal breaks. It can even sound like little kisses; smooches above the clit.

The suction motor, like the two vibrating motors, has 15 functions. I like about 4 of those suction options. One big downside of this toy: the single-button control for each motor. It is a little annoying to have to cycle through and find the one escalating pattern I’m a big fan of (function #13). In the end, the effort is worth it, though…

Because my favorite way to orgasm on the Maia Destiny is to start with a steady suction speed (there are 2 of them), then move up to the escalating suction pattern and turn the tongue’s vibration on high (function #3, the highest steady vibe speed). I let it sit that way between my legs for a couple minutes, letting the orgasm build. While Destiny’s sucking on, and on, and on. While the vibrating tongue is right over my clit PLUS I can feel the vibes from the handle traveling up into the shaft of my clit, underneath the head. (Because the steady vibes coming from lower down Destiny’s body make a difference too.)

Even writing about it makes my clit start to tingle, tbh… To finish hard with the Maia Destiny, I’ll grip the handle and move Destiny’s mouth up and down. Because more coverage reminds me more of real oral, so that Destiny’s sucky mouth is even hitting my sensitive inner labia where they puff out just in front of my vagina. Good nerve endings there too; skin that likes to be rubbed on.

The Maia Destiny’s handle motor is pretty good, acceptable for me; simply not my favorite. I’d rate it maybe a 6.75 out of 10 for vibrator power, where 10 equals Magic Wand. But after I’ve come from suction / air pulsation toys and their more indirect stimulation, I often want a vibrator for the best orgasmic finale. And Destiny’s vibrating handle is accessible, strong enough, and right there.

Like the Satisfyer Dual Pleasure โ€” which I’ve also been playing with for the past couple weeks and will be raving over soon, because these are the best Satisfyer vibes ever โ€” I’ll turn the Maia Destiny around 180 degrees and use only the bottom vibrating motor to complete my orgasm session. Speed #2 is strong enough, and just a little buzzy, and its circular shape reminds me of the PalmPower Recharge’s head (a smaller wand vibrator). Sure, I don’t think Destiny’s handle is the best vibrator ever, but that doesn’t mean I don’t moan when I come all over it.

Do note: This toy is not quiet. The suction is the loudest part, creating a whirring sound. By itself, the vibrations are in a pretty-quiet range, even with both motors going at once; 45 decibels, tops. But turn on the suction, and the Destiny can shoot up to over 60 decibels; the strongest speed is the loudest, and some of the patterns have intermittent bursts of that top intensity, so they’ll range from 42 to 62 decibels. It’s a whirring eeee-ur-eergh noise that I wouldn’t recommend if you can’t tune out noise or you’re sensitive about roommates or family nearby. It’s definitely not the worst sex toy volume offender I’ve heard, but expect some loudness.

The Maia Destiny’s tongue is not a squishy-soft silicone, but it’s very flexible and not abrasive. The tongue tip sticks out just enough that it’s touching underneath my (buried) clit, where my hood sticks up; if I have the suction seal tight. That tip is like the cherry on top of the Destiny sundae, as I angle the toy’s handle and let it massage up and down under my clit, the most sensitive part; the part that makes me want to really let go.

It can very much be a squirting sex toy for me, someone who can come from external rubbing only (not from G-spot stimulation). This oral stimulator lets me fantasize about coming in someone’s mouth โ€” which I would be hesitant to do with a real-life partner who hadn’t expressed a very strong desire for this slightly kinky act. Also great for period sex, because I wouldn’t ask a partner to give me head while I was bleeding all over. Taking the Maia Destiny into my empty bathtub is a great solution, as I can get everything super-wet with very easy cleanup (then just rinse the bottom of the bathtub). Speaking of cleaning Destiny…

CLEANING & Charging

Due to its suction vent, I’m no longer comfortable recommending you run water through the body of this toy, it’s more likely to fail quickly. Instead, wash only while the Destiny is turned off, and do not submerge it in the bathtub. Run your finger around the suction mouth, over the grooves, over the tongue, as water runs next to your hand in the sink.

This toy is a smooth, matte silicone with a golden ABS plastic ring between mouth and body. The 3 buttons are pretty simple, but the suction function in particular requires a little pressure to turn on (hold for 5 full seconds), and sometimes to change speeds / patterns. Just push hard.

Charger plug-in. Also includes a black storage pouch.

The charging prong inserts into the bulls-eye double circle imprinted under the 3 control buttons and the letters “DC.” The battery life isn’t short; I’m sure I get at least an hour per charge with this toy.

Maia Destiny Recap & Ranking

The Maia Destiny’s got awesome suction action and pretty-good vibration going on, for under $50.1 That’s exceptional, since (1) I like the vibration better than the Nu Sensuelle Trinitii’s ($79.99); (2) the suction is stronger than the Dreamy by Shots ($69.99), my first copy of which I’ve killed by taking in the shower; (3) the vibes are definitely stronger and more versatile than in the Twitch by Shots ($79.99), which I killed by using lube in its mouth; and (4) there’s no BS in the product name like in Pipe’s Fantasy for Her pump with tongue toy ($99.99). (They want to be sure you know you’re a woman while using it.)

Really, you’re getting a nice package for cheaper with this Destiny. It’s all safe silicone (with nonporous plastic trim), and is resisting water ingress well for me. My only slight gripe is that you need to cycle through all 15 functions for each of the 3 motors; it’s all single-button control. Also, remember to use lube for comfort, because the suction is intense enough to be ๐Ÿ˜ฒ (somewhat shocking) going in dry!!! If you want a quieter toy, I do still recommend these air-pulsing clit blowers first. I’d rate the Maia Destiny 4.2 / 5 stars overall!
