Lovehoney Desire Luxury Weighted Curved Dildo Review

When you’re a sex toy reviewerā€”especially a picky one like I amā€”you sometimes have to make compromises. Before I got my Lovehoney Desire Luxury Weighted Curved Dildo, I assumed it would be one of those compromises. The concept attracted me because it was so uniqueā€”there are no other weighted dildos with a silicone finish out there!1Ā But I figured the toyā€™s shape wouldnā€™t fit my very particular anatomy (even if it might work well for other, less-judgy folks).

Just how picky are my bits? Well, I’ve turned down all kinds of sex toys. I almost rejected the Fun Factory Stronic G Pulsator ($200 price tag!) when I was asked to review it. I expressed my uncertainty about the new Womanizer toy to a retailer last week. I even shrugged and said, ā€œEhā€ when the inventor of the Njoy Pure Wand himself told me face-to-face that I should take his toy, just to see if I liked it. (I then thought better of that decisionā€”it took me a month to change my mind!)Lovehoney Desire Luxury Weighted Curved Dildo featured

But with the Lovehoney Desire Luxury Weighted Curved Dildo, I figured, “What the hell, might as well see how good the G-spot stim is, because itā€™s different.” And Iā€™m drawn to new and interesting ideas.2

Fast-forward a week: I took the Desire Weighted Curved Dildo out of its box, and I was still skeptical. The thin cardboard case was a little crushed, but inside it, there was a nice leathery storage pouchā€”and of course the dildo. I’d committed to this toy, so I had work to do. I had to fuck it, then write about the experience.

Side 1: The Flat One

Everything changed when I put the Desire Weighted Curved Dildo into my vagina. I might be judgmental, but I always admit when I’m wrong. And I was wrong in my assumptions about this dildo. The shapeā€”which I guessed would be bland, cuz I’m used to toys with dotted ridges, and suckers, and spiralsā€”turned out to be spot-on.

I never lose interest when I’m using this toy. The curve and the flat head are stellar. As much asĀ the Desire Luxury Weighted Curved Dildo’s dull name makes me yawn, I canā€™t argue with how the toy slides right up in and finds my G-spot. It caresses that super-sensitive section of my vag, right above the pubic bone, without poking or being overwhelming.

The flat end is thin, just barely over an inch acrossā€”a good G-spotting width for many people. But I generally have larger tastes, so I was surprised at how satisfying the Desire Weighted Curved Dildo feels when I gently, steadily thrust it. I’m sure there’s one major reason for this besides the shape: the added weight.

I really love how flat the head is here: that, combined with the forward curve, are one style of classic G-spotting design.Ā

The Weight: How Much of an Impact?

The Desire Weighted Curved Dildo’s shape isn’t totally unheard-of: the flat side, the one I like so much, reminds meĀ a lotĀ ofĀ the Lelo Ella. But the Ella is a plain dildo, while the Weighted Curved Dildo is…weighted. (Also curved, believe it or not!) At 11.4 ounces on my scale, the toy is around 50% heavier than a pure silicone dildo of the same size. In fact, the Desire Weighted Curved Dildo is almost exactly the same weight (just 3 grams/0.1 oz. more) heavier than a Fun Factory Stronic G PulsatorĀ (my review here), which has magnets inside to propel its thrusting motion.

But compared to the Njoy Pure Wandā€”that stainless steel legend that I spent literally years refusing to tryā€”the Desire Weighted Curved Dildo is a lightweight. The Pure Wand is a single gram off from being double theĀ Desire Weighted Curved Dildo’s bulk: 650g (1 lb., 6.9 oz.) for the Pure Wand vs. 324g (11.4 oz.) for the Desire dildo. (See my tips on dealing with the Pure Wand’s weight here, tho!)Lovehoney Desire Luxury Weighted Curved Dildo vs. Njoy Pure Wand

In practical terms, this means that theĀ Desire Weighted Curved Dildo is much easier on the wrist if you like quick thrusts, serious rocking motion, or any kind of movement that lasts more than a few minutes! Of course, the lesser weight means that folks who want reallyĀ serious pressure will probably find the Pure Wand more up their alley. I personally think the trade-offā€”less pressure for less wrist strainā€”is worth it most days. The Desire Weighted Curved Dildo still provides firm G-spot stimulation, and a noticeable amount of weight, without overwhelming my forearm.

The weight does feel heavier on the broad sideā€”the one I use less often.

Side 2: The Thicker One

At about 1.3″ across, vs. the flat side’s 1″, this end of theĀ Desire Weighted Curved Dildo has more volume, so it can hold more weight inside. When I first started testing this toy, I tried side 2 first because I thought I’d enjoy the larger size. And I do enjoy the heft of it, how it’s wider and heavier than side 1. But…and there is a definite “but” for me….I quickly switched back to side 1 because there’s a vertical side running down the middle of side 2. It’s hard to see in photos, but that ridge is the focal point for all the pressure from the Desire Weighted Curved Dildo’s thick end.Lovehoney Desire Luxury Weighted Curved Dildo side 2

Many G-spot owners love this kind of focused pressureā€”but it irritates me. My own G-spot is all about the flat head on the other side. I had to force myself to return to side 2 several times during the testing process, just to give it another chance, andĀ over and over again my body told me it wasn’t for me. Basically, my vagina cried out for the flat head of side 1.

I really believe that G-spot stimulation preference is like clitoral in that some peeps like it focused, some like it broad, and some can roll either way. TheĀ Desire Weighted Curved Dildo’s two-ended shape is handy because it gives the user both options in one toy.

I like the flat end, but you might like the other one as muchā€”or more!

Overall Thoughts

I’m still surprised by how enthusiastic I am about the Lovehoney Desire Weighted Curved Dildo. The flat head seems perfectly engineered to wrap around my pubic bone and rub against my G-spot. I find myself wishing I had an eager partner who could just gently thrust this thing in and out of me for half an hour at a time, till it was so much that I had to stop. (I may be an expert onĀ lazy, self-thrusting and hands-free dildo options! ā˜ŗ)

Usually I’m all about the softer silicone and the dual density dildos, so sometimes I have to remind myself to slow down and enjoy the gentle massage rather than thrusting like crazy. At whatever speed you want to use the Desire Weighted Curved Dildo, the silicone has a silky matte finish that lets it glide smoothly (with lube, always use lube).

And as an additional perk, the included storage pouchā€”which I thought I’d never useā€”has turned out to be really useful. You know, like for all those times when I’m sitting at my computer desk with a weighted dildo and I get too engrossed in writing about the toy to put it away before my family comes walking in. Then the zippered, leathery case is super discreet, almost like a pencil case or small makeup bag!

So I will admit it: I was wrong about you, Desire Luxury Weighted Curved Dildo. I may have a hard time remembering your full name, but you’re great for me, and I apologize.

You can pick one of these dildos up here at Lovehoney US, or see the same toy at: Lovehoney Canada, Lovehoney UK, or Lovehoney EU.

  1. Though there areĀ the b-Vibe Snug Plugs,Ā a similar concept in butt plug form.
  2. Even if they often don’t work out for me: I took a chance with the Fun Factory Volta and it turns out I fucking hate the flappy, pinpoint stimulation its “beak” produces; it bears no resemblance to any human tongue, ever. That said, this toy works great for others, especially folks who aren’t terrified of the Zumio like I am!

  1. I’ve always wondered if those flat heads would work well for me as my G-spot responds pretty well to straight-ish toys. It’s fun when something surprises us, though.
