Tantus Fist Trainer Review

The Tantus Fist Trainer Dildo is the widest and most forcefully orgasmic sex toy that I’ve ever had inside my vagina. I considered this “fisting dildo,” part of Tantus’ new lineup of XL silicone dildos, for a couple months before I decided to take the plunge and review one. Could I work my way up to the Fist Trainer’s streamlined fist shape? And what would the silicone be like???

Tantus Fist Trainer’s Shape

Luckily for all of us who are pushing our size limits, the Fist Trainer is very smoothly tapered. It’s something like a hand in “duck bill shape”—the easiest way to move into taking a fist—except, you know, Fist Trainer is uniformly round instead of having a thumb on one side.

This fisting dildo’s widest part—the smoothed “knuckles”—is a ring that bulges outward. Versus the 1.5-inch diameter of an average dildo, Fist Trainer is 2.6 inches diameter/ 8.625 inches circumference. On paper, that may not seem like such a huge increase. But in person, it is. Look at Fist Trainer to the 1.7-inch-diameter (not small!!!) Vamp Super Soft (purple), for example:

After its “knuckles,” the Fist Trainer Dildo tapers back down, into a “wrist”—one lined with a series of ringed ribs. I assume these are intended for popping against the sphincters of anyone who’s taking more of Fist Trainer’s length anally, so the rings would create a gentle rubbing sensation.1

Fist Trainer’s base is flared, but minimally. The silicone there will fold over easily, so this large dildo is not harness compatible (even with an XL O-ring).

Fist Trainer is called Fist *Trainer* because most human fists will be wider (and not so uniformly shaped). My hands happen to be kinda small, so there’s not much size difference between Fist Trainer’s girth and my fist with the fingers folded inward. Your mileage may vary, depending on your intended fisting partner’s hand size. Warmup, lube, and patience are key for comfort!

My Experience

The Tantus Fist Trainer’s 2.6-inch diameter is right at my previous stretching limits. I can get a 2-inch-thick dildo in immediately, no problem; 2.2 inches makes me stretch a little; and anything more feels like a new frontier for my vagina, every time.

The first time I got Fist Trainer in, I’d been playing with my much-loved Velvet Thruster + VixSkin combo. The sheath on that maxes out at 2.125 inches across…so I thought, Eh, close enough. Time to move into the big leagues with Fist Trainer!2

So I twirled Fist Trainer’s tapered tip around a bit, slid it up and down…then decided to stuff it all in.

This was probably not the best decision, because that big ring was an overwhelming FORCE as it passed my pelvic bone. It hurt a little. I came immediately anyway.

The pressure from the Fist Trainer’s wide ring is imposing, always—even in smooth, rounded, softer silicone. It’s not as hard as knuckles, nor as wide as many fists. So it’s not a bad warmup to a fist that’s not *too* broad. BUT, Tantus’ silicone for this toy [sent to me in 2019] was a 2 to 3A Shore durometer, not squishy-soft like the 00 Shores most popular in fantasy sex toys.

And I definitely needed further warmup to make the Tantus Fist Trainer more usable. I opted for Nick Capra’s sausage-like thickness. After screwing its squishy silicone for a few minutes, I felt more prepared.

It’s between 2 and 3 inches down Fist Trainer’s shaft that the stretching gets intense. Gently, I slotted the big bulge in. It was still a lot, but I was prepared for the pressure this time.

The Tantus Fist Trainer feels like two fingers, pressing in hard on my G-spot. So hard. This pushing feeling makes me point my toes, clench my calves. I don’t even move the toy. I can lie back and do nothing, while the waves of small orgasms start coming on. I’m acutely aware of the exact position of my G-spot, which doesn’t happen easily with other toys. I imagine sparks flying from that pressure point, because it’s such a sensitive area for me.

I actually find the Fist Trainer’s pressure level stronger than the Njoy Pure Wand, the quintessential G-spot dildo. Here’s why: With the Pure Wand, I can choose to not apply so much force. That stainless steel dildo’s larger end is only 1.5 inches wide, so there’s space inside my vag to move it around. I often opt for light tugging motions and minimize the Pure Wand’s forward angle, to avoid overstimulation.

In contrast, this Tantus XL fisting dildo is *locked in*. I can’t move it back away from my G-spot; it’s on top of it, no matter what. Even turning the Fist Trainer slightly produces a shooting sensation, making me think of two hard, curved fingers. I’d describe the feeling as string of expletives, except my brain can’t process words so well when Fist Trainer is inside my vagina—so no curses are coming out.

A full half hour after my last Fist Trainer session, I was sitting at a traffic light—and I realized that I could still feel a lingering pressure. Right in that spot, the most sensitive spot. A *pressing-in* that I knew would add to penetration with a normal dick-sized object. I dearly wished that I was on top of my friend with benefits in that moment. Instead, the light turned green, and I tried to push aside the arousal. More testing is clearly needed…

Final Thoughts

The Tantus Fist Trainer is for the more extreme among us: anyone who likes to push the limits, feel more. Like the whole Tantus XL dildo series, you gotta be ready for this!

For me, the Fist Trainer requires prep work to get in. And once it’s locked in place…the sensation is intense, even in Tantus’ softer Super Soft silicone. It’s like the large dildo equivalent of the higher intensities of a Womanizer-style clit pulsation toy: you will feel a lot. If you’re sensitive, you may not even want to move this dildo for the first few minutes; you’ll just lie there and absorb all the crazy pressure happening inside your hole. Then you will start moving it, very slowly…and your toes will literally curl, and your legs will shake.

That said, in retrospect I really would’ve picked the Longneck Smooth as a first fisting trainer dildo, due to its lovely Super-Soft silicone. It’s more padded than the Tantus Fist’s moderately soft silicone. Gentler. But, I can understand wanting a touch more firmness for the “fisting feel.”

Notes

  1. Hats off to anyone who can take over 6 inches—the length after which Fist Trainer’s ribs start—vaginally; that’s beyond my limits.
  2. I went against my own sizing-up advice: it’s most comfortable to go in increments of 1″ circumference/0.3″ diameter or less between insertable objects.

    • No way, I’ve been looking at Ziq at the Strange Bedfellas toy I want most (since I got a Batou) for a few months! I was torn between small and medium. The small is quite short, but I think it would be good for me as a vaginal plug that’s easy to insert without stretching. I haven’t gotten one yet because (1) I’m bad at showing up on time for drops and (2) I keep waiting for the perfect color scheme, lol.
