Creature Cocks Unicorn Dildo Review – Bad Feels, Pretty Colors

Creature Cocks dildos are a big-brand’s1 leap into the fantasy sex toy market. Silicone fantasy toys often cost more (vs. realistic or plain dildos), and they’re rarely found at in-person sex toy shops. So, the widely-distributed Creature Cocks Unicorn + could be seen as resolving an access issue.

But, of course there’s a big trade-off, if you’re considering buying a Creature Cocks dildo like the “Monstropus Tentacled Monster” or the “Mystique Unicorn” or the “Ravager Rippled,” etc.

  1. Their silicone is soft, but NOT super-soft & plush as 98% of high-quality fantasy dildos.2
  2. Creature Cocks employ several dildo molds that (allegedly) copy the unique works of indie dildo-makers.
  3. No different size (or color) choices available.

More details on Creature Cocks controversy—and silicone feel—follow: I love my critical readers, and trust you’ll look and judge what’s ethical for yourself! I’ll spotlight the Mystique Unicorn, where design theft is not alleged, though its name bears more than a passing resemblance to Bad Dragon’s much-earlier “Mystic Unicorn” toy:

The Run-Down:

Derivative fantasy dildos in less-plush silicone. Lots of textures & shapes. Strong suction cup bases. Not a great value for the just-OK quality.

Unicorn Price, USD: From $50.99; to $63.95 at Extreme Restraints (another XR site linked to by creaturecocks.com); to a ridiculous $89.99 at Adam&Eve

Creature Cocks Mold Controversy

“White label” (available for sale to any manufacturer) molds are very common in the toy industry, and not necessarily unethical. 3

Here, the issue arises because a handful of Creature Cocks molds are very similar to earlier dildos by independent (“indie”) creators who have not sold their designs for mass production in China.

Fantasy toy expert @katevulpes (on “X”/twitter) created a thread with side-by-side images of Creature Cocks vs. indie-silicone toys, for comparison. You can view the full thread at https://x.com/KateVulpes/status/1683712199364055041. I’m screen-shotting several blocks from the thread, below4:

Creature Cocks Beastly vs. SquarePegToys Tusk and Elephant
Creature Cocks ovipositor vs. Fantasticocks original sex toy

At this point (January 2024), Hankey’s Toys appears to have gotten the two toys that imitated their Dragon (called by Creature Cocks “Fire Demon” and “Sea Serpent”) removed from the Creature Cocks line: Fire Demon was remolded so it’s differently textured now; amBad Dragon’s Demon Dick that was called “Lava Demon” by Creature Cocks has now morphed into the Creature Cocks “Horny Devil” (with the same shaft shape, but lines instead of bumps, and fangs added). Odyssey-toys.com (a UK-based fantasy maker) has also reported that their Tenox was “copied” by Creature Cocks, so it’s very possible there are more “similar” designs not included above.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Widely available fantasy dildos.
  • Lots of shapes and textures.
  • Good suction cups.

Cons

  • Design theft plausibly alleged.
  • Only 1 size option per toy.
  • Firmer silicone (3A Shore) than most handmade fantasy dildos.
  • Less supple feel vs. indie silicones.
  • Colors are less pretty: less-intricate marbling, no microfine glitter, etc.

Creature Cocks’ silicone feels like other mass-produced silicone. It’s generic. It’s unlikely to harbor bacteria. It can be boiled without change.

In particular, I bought the Mystique Unicorn, a white-label mold where design infringement can’t be found. This “unicorn” has 5 wavy ripples that expand after a smaller head. It’s got a heated-to-cure highlight, so it’s 3 colors. The Creature Cocks Unicorn dildo is 8.4″ total length, 7.2″ usable length, moves from 1.35″ diameter at the head to 2.3″ diameter at the widest ripple (that’s 1.5″ above the end of its usable length).

My Review Criteria

All body-safe, zero BS. I only recommend body-safe toys, no bullshit and no paid promos. If I wouldn’t give a toy to a close friend, then I won’t recommend it to you, either. I’ve tested over 1,080 vibrators, 530 dildos, and 165 butt plugs (and a plethora of cock rings, kink gear, and lubes!). Everyone’s preferences vary, so I rate vibrating toys by 1. power level and 2. rumbliness; and always describe how my personal tastes color my experience.

My Experience with Creature Cocks Unicorn

Unihorn dildos typically resemble a flattened horn shape, so this toy’s clear head + ultra-wavy-ness gotta be Creature Cocks/XR naming the “Mystique Unicorn” to check the “unicorn dildo” box. ✅

In any case, whatever it is, the wavy ripples really *pop*. A lot. Too much for me. Because its silicone is a kinda-soft density. That means it misses two marks for me:

  • It’s too hard to put on my sex machine and let it really *do* me. The Mystique Unicorn dildo’s dramatic ripples + the thicker girth + the not-squishy-soft density = this is painful / awkward instead of enjoyable, when it’s moving at a reasonable pace. (=Any speed except the slowest.)
  • It’s too soft to provide dramatic G-spot stimulation when working it by hand, as the head bends backward. It’s mainly stimulation at the opening, as the ripples get wider.

I don’t hate the silicone, but I do find the toy a simple waste of money. I managed to test it two times and was starting on a third, when I was like, “NOPE not today, f@ck this, life is short”. In general, I do recommend that you use a toy three to five times when getting used to something new, because: (1) some products have a learning curve/require an adjustment period, plus (2) your sensitivity might change day-to-day. Whatever, I decided to break that guideline here, because I know I like my super-soft toys — and my dual-density dildos — infinitely more, always.

I also have the Ika-esque tentacle made as Creature Cocks “Monstropus”, and can vouch that its silicone is the same Shore durometer (density) as the Unicorn. That makes its suckers feel more aggressive, and the shaft gets too thick too quickly instead of squishing fleshily like the BD product does.

Creature Cocks Tentacle Dildo and Unicorn dildo review
B&W for contrast, but: It’s hard to see any flexibility in the Monstropus tentacle. I was pushing firmly here, but the silicone is dense.

In short, Creature Cocks’ silicone is middle-of-the-road. It exists. It’s not awful. It’s like IHOP quality.5

If you’re looking for a great, respect-worthy fantasy dildo, you will not find it in this Creature Cocks fantasy toy lineup. The C.C.’s silicone is slightly cheaper, but you might as well pay 30% more6 and get a better selection & higher-quality from any of the following makers (NOT an all-inclusive list of trustworthy platinum silicone makers, but has favorites I trust & makers who’ve been around for many years).

How to Use the Unicorn

When using a larger fantasy toy, it’s important to know your size limits.

How much girth can you take, comfortably?

“Average” diameter for dildos matches median penis diameter, at close to 1.5″ across—whereas most fantasy toys run a lot larger. So, be careful to examine a fantasy dildo’s dimensions before buying.

If you’re going bigger, don’t rush play, insert slowly. And use a good lubricant.

Suction Cup Base

The Mystique Unicorn’s suction cup is wide (3.8″ diameter). To apply: Hold onto the dildo’s lower shaft, then press down firmly to get the air out, making it stick better.

Smooth surfaces are most secure, like a tile floor, bathtub ledge, or toilet seat; though the Unicorn dildo’s suction cup will stick quite strongly to my painted wood door. More on positioning other suction cup dildos here.

I haven’t actually used the Unicorn dildo this way, though.

Care & Cleaning

All the grooves in this toy cling to lubricant and my fluids more, vs. most dildos. You’ll want to run your fingers (trimmed fingernails preferable) around any similar fantasy toy textures with deeper recesses:

Rubbing any soap over them, under running water.

Still, I found flaky white fluid leftovers dried in some of the Mystique Unicorn’s grooves the next day, and needed to rewash.

Creature Cocks Mystique Unicorn dildo color highlight gaps

The silicone coloring does behave like highlights on better-quality silicone toys. The lilac/purple and light blue are layered over the pale orangy-yellow color. There are some gaps at the back-of-shaft recesses. The color doesn’t fade or dissipate when the toy is washed, boiled, or rubbed with isopropyl alcohol.

Recap & Rating

Creature Cocks are an attempt to “mass-marketize” fantasy silicone dildos.

Bringing cool-textured enjoyment to a wider audience is a great aim,

But individual dildo-shoppers gotta decide whether Creature Cocks infringe on handmade-dildo brands’ unique dildo designs = whether they’re unethical.

I found the Creature Cocks’ silicone unremarkable: just not plush enough to support pleasure from the wide diameter + super-ripply ridges all over the Unihorn.

Creature Cocks Unicorn

Design theft? Creature Cocks Unicorn dildo is part of a fantasy toy line allegedly ripping off indie dildo-makers. Is it true, and how does the dildo's silicone feel? Pros & cons.

Product Brand: Creature Cocks

1.9

NOTES

  1. XR’s
  2. The remaining 2% (random % estimate, but I do see them much less often) are Firm fantasy toys from a few makers who use 10A Shore Dragon Skin silicone sometimes.
  3. A “mold” refers to the outer form—with an open cavity inside—into which material [silicone, thermoplastics, harder plastics, etc.] is poured or injected. A mold is what gives every sex toy its shape. Not to be confused with mold = fungus, a microorganism that can spread in TPE strokers and other more-porous sex toys.
  4. Because Twitter/X embeds are not functioning on WordPress sites right now.
  5. I swear IHOP used to be better when I was a kid 25 years ago, fwiw, but maybe my taste has gotten pickier as well.
  6. For one example, SquarePeg’s Baby Tusk is approximately the same size and very similar shape to Creature Cocks’ Beastly. Beastly on XR’s Extreme Restraints is $63.95, vs. $89.00 as SquarePegToys.com’s retail price: that’s 28.14% more for a handmade, tested-by-actual-dildo-fans, U.S.-sourced product.

    • Right!! Though, some retailers on Ali may label some TPE toys (especially strokers or those automated stroking cups that are getting more popular) with “silicone,”

but for the actually silicone toys there, yeah, I totally agree.

XR has done work on the packaging — it’s bright, attractive, and professional — so that changes the outside look, but same quality inside.

  1. I bought this dildo last year, and had the same experience that it’s just a little too firm for its size. My wife doesn’t like super soft toys, but this one needed just a bit more give.

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of choices in this size range that are silicone but non-realistic/non-super textured. My wife likes some ripples and pop like this one has, and the size is good. However, she doesn’t want a crazy shaped/textured fantasy toy, nor an ultra realistic one. Those seem to be pretty much the only options though.

    • Right, yes, both the name seemingly and definitely that dildo’s design — there is a nice side-by-side of those two toys in Kate Vulpes’ thread, and I’ve got the URL now corrected as on x rather than twitter (arg).

The Monster Cocks toy was no doubt way f^ckin’ overpriced,
and I don’t recommend anyone buy from Abyss Creations,
but that doesn’t mean that taking one of their unique designs is OK!
