Blush Novelties Luxe Purity 2 Silicone Dildo Review

The Luxe Purity 2 dildo by Blush Novelties stands out for two (closely related) reasons: the price is super low, but the silicone feels great. Sure, there are lots of porous (and maybe even toxic) sex toys out there that you can buy off Amazon for eight or ten bucks, but quality platinum-cure silicone used to come at a price. Happily for genitals and butts everywhere, companies like Blush Novelties have recently started producing toys that are both body-safe and very affordable.Blush Novelties Luxe Purity 2 dildo floral

Even better, not only is the Luxe Purity 2 inexpensive, but I would recommend this dildo to anyone looking for a smallish to average-sized abstract dildo. My enthusiasm comes down to one thing: I love touching the silicone.

Silky Soft

The Luxe Purity 2’s product description says the dildo is “satin coated for a smooth, sensual feel.” When I read this, I assumed it was just marketing BS. Then I got my Purity 21 and I was like, “Whoa, that really is satiny!”

But I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised, because I like the feel of the Blush Novelties Magic Stick (part of the Ruse series of realistic suction cup dildos) over all my other lower-priced realistic dildos.2 Even with all its ridges and veins, the Magic Stick has a silkier matte finish than other big-brand suction cup dildos (for example, the popular Colours Pleasures line).

But back to the star of this review: Basically, the Luxe Purity 2 has the smooth feel that the outside of a luxury vibrator does, but at less than a fifth of the price. But…I’m someone who actually likes a bit of drag in their dildos, so I was concerned that—as much as I like caressing the Luxe Purity 2—it would disappoint my vagina. Would it be too smooth to satisfy?

Point Taken

Nope—the Luxe Purity 2 was anything but boring. The silicone is smooth, for sure, but the shape is clearly designed to create pressure. The top point (which I’ll call “the head”) juts out prominently, and below that is a gentler, broader curve (which I’ll call “the swell”).Blush Novelties Luxe Purity 2 dildo curves

The head’s point is intense for me because, from what I’ve gathered from reading lots of reviews, my vag is more sensitive than most. I dislike the very hard and very focused stimulation that’s characteristic of many G-spotting toys, and sharply pointed coronal ridges hurt me. Some days I’m fine with thrusting the Luxe Purity 2 with wild abandon, but usually the head makes me slow down.

And that’s OK, because moving the Purity 2 slowly is really the way to go.

A Personal Masseur for My Vag

With slow strokes, I get a taste of the head’s more focused pressure without being overwhelmed. Most importantly, I can feel the swell a lot better. The swell and I have become good friends this way; I really enjoy how broad and gentle this curve is.Blush Novelties Luxe Purity 2 dildo pink fabric

For me personally to get maximum G-spot pressure from the swell, I have to insert almost the full length. At 5.35″ insertable, the Luxe Purity 2 is shorter than a lot of toys. Unfortunately, this means I crave more length, especially because of the Luxe Purity 2’s unique base:

A Beating(-off) Heart

I didn’t realize the Luxe Purity 2 had a heart-shaped base until I pulled the dildo out of the packaging—and my first thought was that the shape was kinda cheesy. You see, I’m not the kind of vulva owner who actively seeks out unicorns and cutesy things. But that’s just me—absolutely no judgment here if you find the heart to be adorable.

Once I got used to the heart shape, I was fine with it aesthetically. But in use, I do think the shape makes the Luxe Purity 2 slightly harder to grasp to than a rounded base. It’s not a huge deal, though, because I have a lot of other dildos whose bases are huge and much harder to hold and thrust. In contrast, the Luxe Purity 2’s base is quite small. Blush Novelties Luxe Purity 2 dildo hearts

And though the heart shape isn’t a deal-breaker for me, I do find that the heart’s point can get in the way of a vibrator.3 Remember, I’m often inserting almost the Luxe Purity 2’s full length, so that the base is hitting my when fully inserted; it’s difficult for me to thrust the dildo when I have a vibe underneath my clit. So, overall, I find the heart-shaped base more distracting than cute.

My dislike for the base is very dependent on my particular anatomy, though. If you’re happy with more focused stimulation (the kind the head was designed for) and/or average-length dildos, then I doubt you’ll have this problem. I just like my dildos longer!

Conclusion: A Luxe-urious Bargain

The Blush Novelties Luxe Purity 2 is an awesome value, and I love the satin finish; it’s really comfortable to use and feels luxurious.

The dildo’s shape is unique; it’s clearly designed to provide focused stimulation. As a more sensitive user, I find the protruding “head” intense if I’m thrusting the dildo fast (my normal masturbation style). And when I move the Luxe Purity 2 slowly, the broad swell halfway down the dildo’s shaft creates a fuller feeling than I would expect from the Purity 2’s average size, 1.43″ maximum diameter. Personally, though I think the Purity 2’s broad swell and forward curve are great, I’d like more length from the dildo—but I’m a bit of a size queen (a size duchess?);4 your preferences may be completely different.

  1. In case you’re like me and you’ve wondered what the Luxe Purity 1 is, lemme tell you: It’s this vibrator. You’d think they could’ve come up with a distinct name for the 100% different dildo—oh well!
  2. Though I like the shape and the finish on the Magic Stick a lot, I’d pick the ColourSoft dildos (review here) as my absolute fav suction cup option for under $50 because I personally prefer squishier toys. See the Single-Density section of my Silicone Squish Lists for many, many silicone options.
  3. This is especially true if your clit is close to your vag and/or if you prefer to use your vibe on the underside of your clit.
  4. Also, I’m pretty sure that my interest in fantasy toys has skewed my views on “large” and “small.” ☺️
