Sometimes it’s the head that makes or breaks a sexual relationship. ???? And the head of the Toyfriend Smooth Operator Choosy has a beautifully silky, flat surface that feels like the pressure from two fingertips—but with strong vibes.
The Toyfriend Smooth Operator Choosy1 is a luxury vibe with a G-spot-friendly shape. But, as much as I love a good G-spot vibe, Choosy’s dramatic curve does so much more for me clitorally. The head is parallel with the shaft, so it’s incredibly easy to hold flat against my vulva and clit, and to rub up and down, applying pressure just where I want it. Plus rumbly power!
The Vibes
The Smooth Operator Choosy’s motor is very good, as a vibe at this price point should be.2 Compared to other G-spot vibes, it’s up among the top contenders. Importantly, Choosy’s level of rumbliness—vibration depth—stays consistent as you turn up Choosy’s power level. It doesn’t buzzzz on the most powerful settings.
Choosy gives you 2 steady vibe speeds plus 4 patterns, with different pulsing and rolling motions up and down the shaft. The really great thing is that each of these 6 total functions has 7 intensity levels—because you deserve choices.
What’s the point two steady speeds if each has different power levels, though? Well, the first steady function is only the motor in the head of the toy. That means that your fingers are shielded from the vibes when you use function #1. But to make the lower shaft and head vibrate at the same time, go to vibe function #2. I highly recommend this one because it feels like a lot more power—especially when I have the flat head on my G-spot and I want the shaft to direct some vibes my clit’s way.
That Head
I said that the Smooth Operator Choosy was very much a clit vibe for me—and here’s why, even though I love G-spot play.
Choosy’s flat head feels good on my G-spot, don’t get me wrong. And the distance between the toy’s flat tip and the shaft is loooong—almost an inch. This big gap makes it easier to use a clit vibe too while you’re using Choosy as a G-spotter.
But I like G-spot toys that pull downward, creating force as they press into the front wall of my vagina. Choosy’s head is so smooth, and the flatness so focused in the circle’s center, that I don’t get so much G-spot impact. Basically, it’s a vibe that’s great to hold steady, but doesn’t provide much force when I thrust it.
At first glance the Smooth Operator Choosy’s shape looks similar to the Fun Factory Stronic G Pulsator’s. Besides the fact that the Stronic pulsates, instead of vibrating, I’d argue that the Stronic G’s ridge is better designed for moving G-spot stimulation. You see, the Stronic G comes to a point at the bottom, so it does create that downward, tugging feeling my G-spot yearns for.
But Choosy and my (very choosy!) clit have a much better relationship, because the head’s smooth roundness is just the right width to fit between my labia. And the 90-degree angle allows for a lot of firm pressure: I can press Choosy right where I want it without having to angle the shaft upward. Whether it’s on my clit, underneath it, or pressing into the mouth of my vagina, Choosy is always easy to hold onto.
The Extras
The Toyfriend Smooth Operator Choosy comes with an attractive storage tube and a velvety gray storage bag.
This vibe has an excellent battery life. I let mine run against my vulva for a couple hours one morning while I was doing some blog work, and it ran strong for another half hour after that during the next testing session.
The charging mechanism is a bit unusual: you have to unscrew the bottom of the toy to access the port and plug it in. I don’t love the seam this creates, but Choosy is still splashproof when you have it fully assembled. That means it’s fine to wash well with soap and water like you would any vibe, and even to rub down with alcohol or bleach solution, but you shouldn’t take it into the bathtub.
And last, the Smooth Operator Choosy is advertised as having “some flexibility”—and that’s true, but you have to press really hard to make the shaft bend. In actual use, Choosy’s body feels quite firm. It’s not quite as hard as the Dorr Silker, one of my favorite G-spot vibes (and the one I recommend anyone who wants hard pressure); but it’s also not truly flexible like my all-time favorite G-spot (plus clit sometimes!) vibe, the Pillow Talk Sassy by BMS.
Overall Thoughts
The Toyfriend Smooth Operator Choosy is a commendable vibe because:
- The motor is good—strong with a good amount of rumbliness throughout.
- It has a good number of intensity levels: 7, to be exact.
- The shape is great for steady G-spot pressure or, even better, for holding against/running along the vulva.
- The silicone is smooth and satiny.
If you’re looking for steady G-spot stimulation, or plan to use Choosy with a small clit vibe, the Smooth Operator Choosy’s flat head is really made for that.
I’m most into pressing it underneath my clit, and then occasionally pushing it backward to pop the head in and out of my vag. Choosy’s silicone glides great with lube, and I’m impressed by its long battery life.

- For the record, Choosy is the toy’s particular name, Smooth Operator is the specific vibrator line, Toyfriend is the name that the manufacturer sticks onto all its vibes (???), and Tickler is the name of the Swedish manufacturer. Put it all together and you get the unnecessarily long name “Tickler Toyfriend Smooth Operator Choosy G-Spot Vibrator.”
- If you’re not 100% sold on the flat head, though, I’d argue that the Pillow Talk Sassy has an amazing orgasms-per-dollar ratio. (Credit goes to sex educator Ducky Doolittle for coming up with this term, which I’ll henceforth call the “OPD ratio.” ☺)
This is definitely a toy I’d want to see a cross section of, or maybe a dismantling video. I’m curious as to how the motor and vibration weights are set up and the the force seems so centered for such a broad headed toy. There needs to be an ArduinovsEvil of sex toys. The one time he took apart an off brand wand doesn’t count, the poor canuck was just too squeamish to really dig at it like he’d do for other electronics.
