Batou by Strange Bedfellas is horn-y…literally. This demon dildo is fantasy art, handmade and beautifully devilish. Spikes, horns, and two head ridges… plus twisting veins, and BIG balls. So fun in general, and (as an ex-clergy wife), I have to admit I love anything with a devil theme. (Did I mention it has foreskin too? This an all-natural imp.)
I’ve been admiring Batou for quite a while, but my first Strange Bedfellas acquisition was Tyv, because I was interested in its knot. Tyv is a chill dude—but my first instinct was right, Batou is 100% more my speed.
This Batou demon dildo review will dive into Batou’s textures and how they feel, tell you about Strange Bedfella’s sexy silicone artwork, and go through other “evil” sex toy options!

Batou the Frisky Demon
Strange Bedfellas’ character descriptions are clever and simply delightful to read. Batou’s includes silly tidbits and generally describes Batou as a “Frisky devil looking for a good friend to spend time with.”
*raises hand* I could use a frisky demon companion who enjoys strange and delicious foods!
Seriously, though, Batou’s a stand-out for me for these reasons:
- The triple-ridge design (so good to rub on),
- The swell mid-shaft, and
- The foreskin with those cute horns poking out. (Don’t be afraid of Batou’s horns, though: especially in medium and soft silicones, they’re gentle.)
About the vision behind Batou, Strange Bedfellas’ founder Meesh wrote:
We wanted to create a dildo that had a fairly humanoid shape with some beastly flair to it. It has a foreskin and a couple of little nubby horns on the head, as well as 4 little horns around the base.
Looking for Other Demon Dildos?: A List
All the following dildos are body-safe platinum silicone, the only safe soft sex toy material.
- SquarePegToys Little Demon: Vaguely demon-themed, with a pointed tip—but noteworthy because SquarePegToys was the originator of SuperSoft silicone sex toys! Little Demon’s P-spot/G-spotty ridge is drawing me in. (My SquarePeg so far has tended toward the realistic side and of course to the brand’s trademark Egg Plugs!) Little Demon in both SuperSoft and Firmer Black1 include a suction cup, unlike the other toys in this list.
- Mr. Hankey’s Toys Oni has a practically Satanic face. Oni’s described as an “ogre-like demon”: they’re figures with horns in Japanese folklore. Choose Hankey’s 75% Soft for gentleness with all the texture, or go for Medium Firm if you want to feel all those ridges down Oni’s back.
- Oxballs Demonic: Oh *hellfire,* this one looks threatening, with that pointy tip! (You can get it in Smoke Smoosh, though, like Oxballs’ squishy-soft Ergo plugs.) Like Batou, Demonic’s got multiple head ridges, awesome in my book. And it’s looooong, a (fitting) 13 inches insertable.
- Bad Dragon makes Demon Dick, with (again) a point that my cervix is instinctively afraid of being impaled with, but which may be better for your ass! Bumps, bumps, bumps down the shaft, and big balls.
- Exotic Erotics has Singe & Scorch the Hellhounds.
- Kraken Monster Lab (Australian) has all manner of devilish, winged critters.
My Batou Experience
Oh, Batou… I’m having to pull up a thesaurus to look for “fun” synonyms,2 because that’s what Batou is for me. Mine is a size Large, which is indeed Large but not gigantic (at least when you’ve been following fantasy sex toys for a while). Its specs in detail:
- a 2-inch-wide head (my perfect cock head width);
- 2.25 inches farther down the shaft, at that swell;
- 5.75 inches insertable length (could be 6 if you push it);
- and 7.75 inches total length / height, with how big Batou’s balls are.
My demon dildo friend is what Strange Bedfellas and many fantasy shops call “medium” firmness (00-50 shore durometer). That means it’s squishy, but not super-duper flexible because of how Batou is thick for its length.3
The three-ridge design is what I’m all over. I love multiple ridges like this because my G-spot is sensitive, and repeated rubbing feels amazing. Batou is recommend as a toy to insert and let lock in place…and I get that, with how big the balls are. But, what can I say, I’m in it for the motion.4
Batou’s foreskin top is the first ridge, followed by a coronal ridge, then a third ridge just for the more. It’s not intense forward pressure, not designed as a pure P-/G-spot dildo, but the series of ridges is the loveliest on “gentle stimulation” days when I’m more sensitive.
And the Batou dildo’s demon horns, up top? Protruding out of that foreskin, sexy as hell. 😉 (Full uncut silicone dildo list here.) The spiky nubs are small, so they’re a really light touch. (They’re even smaller in the original Batou model, now size small; sizes M through XXL Batou have the bigger horns seen in this review.) You may be able to feel them, but they’re unlikely to irritate unless you order the firm firmness (rarely made by Strange Bedfellas) and you’re also really extra-sensitive.5
I’ve focused so much on the head, but the swell mid-shaft is perhaps even more important in terms of feel. It bulges outward, stretching you! The spreading is really nice.
And last, Batou narrows down right above the base, so it’ll lock into place more, especially if you’re someone who’s able to sit on your chosen-size Batou’s whole length anally. If you can take BIG toys and go with the Noble or Royal Size, then the balls will very much be useful if you’re easing yourself down onto Batou’s bigness, then riding it. I had this experience with the Hankey’s Toys Goliath in its new smaller LG/XL size recently (roughly equal to Noble Batou). And those balls were a huge help for bracing my hands against while I and Goliath were alllll greased up. But I wanted something usable every day for me, with Batou, and Large is just right!
Batou’s ring of 4 decorative horns at the bottom doesn’t affect use, it’s too far down.
With Batou’s giant testicles, holding down the toy’s weight, thrusting isn’t the easiest. Again, the demon balls are ideal for steady, stable use—not so much the in-and-out motion I favor. But I’m a pro at jerking larger toys, so I grip Batou by the balls and back of its lower shaft, and go for the gold.
If you are taking Batou vaginally, then you’ll definitely want to explore clit stimulation while letting Batou sit still. Its balls should rest against your perineum, back toward the butt crack, while the swell keeps your lower vag open. A bullet vibe is always easy, you can make a small wand work (PalmPower Recharge!), or I cannot recommend the We-Vibe Melt enough as the best clit pulsation / “suction” toy to use during vaginal penetration. Melt gets strong, and its shape fits in really nicely, better than Womanizer pulsators.
Whatever you do, Batou remains soft, comfortable, and devilishly stretching.
Strange Bedfellas & Their Art
Strange Bedfellas (SB) makes all toys out of 100% platinum silicone (with safe pigments and micro-glitter) in their workshop in Austin, Texas. The shop is 3 years old now, and I identify with that because my review site is just barely older! SB has a “monster” theme, with amazing character descriptions and general fun. (Oh lord I need to pull out the thesaurus again. Joie de vivre??) We all need more fun in life, tbh; I say, these are demons and dragons and fangs and tentacles to welcome with open arms.
But the colors. More silicone sex toy shops pop up on Etsy all the time, but Strange Bedfellas does (along with my other personal fave, Pleasure Forge) superb colorations, and the toys are just generally polished. Like, there are ragged mold marks, etc., and you can tell a lot of care has gone into the design for each toy.
For my Batou, for example, Meesh the shop owner let me know about this miniscule pigment freckle on one side of the base. It’s so tiny and totally doesn’t change the toy’s look, but she wanted to know I was OK with it. This speaks to me about good customer service: I can see Strange Bedfellas chatting with enthusiastic fans all the time on Twitter. They’ve developed a following because they do good work, plus are just pleasant to interact with.
I called SB “masters of pastels & rainbow marbles” the other day, because so many of their toys have a “saltwater taffy” look. I asked for a little more vibrant green in my Batou, and a bold pink, with blue balls!, and I really like how it turned out. During Pride in June, Strange Bedfellas’ rainbow marbles are so, so good.
And the color choices are literally always changing. Stock drops happen on Fridays (usually every Friday, barring rare circumstances; check SB’s Twitter just in case) at 4 pm Central time. Info for new fantasy toy buyers: Many indie shops do work by releasing uniquely colored, new toys via stock drops. You gotta swoop in and find the model, size, firmness, and marbled colors that appeal to you! The options are too many to count.6
Since Strange Bedfellas is popular, and quantity is limited, new toys go fast. So be there on time, and good luck snatching up that “monster of your dreams”!
Overall Thoughts
Batou the demon dildo is fantasy art, with more texture added to a realistic base—in too many color options to count. Happily, Batou’s available in sizes from “average” (Small) to Royal (= holy hell, you gotta be an anal adventurer for that one).
Batou is really centered around the stretch your hole should get from the thickness mid-shaft. That swell, bulging outward; before Batou tapers down into its base-balls. The foreskin effect is striking, with two tiny horns poking out. But those little spikes are more for show. Up top, you’re more likely to get sensation from the gentle 3-bump design.
Batou is, happily for me, wide without being too long. It’s for sitting on, it’s for riding in the BIG sizes, it’s for letting Batou expand you while you play with your bits externally.
Strange Bedfellas, now in their fourth year of platinum silicone toy-making, continues to create beautiful colors and flawless products. (You’ll know before you buy if there’s any blemish.)

NOTES
- A soft but not squishy 5A-shore
- Amusement! Pleasure! Play! Gaiety! Laughter!
- As always: A longer thinner toy will be more flexible than a short, stocky one. AND: the larger a dildo, the firmer it will feel in the same silicone density. So 00-50 is awesome for me and toys 2 inches to maybe 2.3 inches wide; get more toward 2.5 inches diameter and I see folks really preferring the soft 00-30 shore density. I was thinking the same when I first managed Hankey’s Toys Goliath dildo: “whoa this could definitely be good in a softer silicone.” On the other hand, the 00-50 let the toy’s bulk stand up to the pressure I was placing on it by riding up and and down it, without bending too much—so it’s a trade-off.
- OMG, since I got this Power Banger sex machine I’m dying for Batou to have a Vac-U-Lock hole. It’s so, so easy to have your toy move itself for you.
- I love how fantasy toy fans are usually able to really explain what features they do and don’t like about a toy, exactly how it feels for them, and to know their own preferences. Fantasy sex toys are really about investigating different styles, weird n groovy textures that you won’t find in a mainstream toy shop (especially not a physical / brick and mortar one). Sensitivity level is a huge factor, and people have hugely different stimulation needs in all kinds of ways!
- Seriously, the amount of different pigments they come up with, up to 4 or 5 colors per toy and all combined in different ways, plus 14 current models, in 3 firmness possibilities, and the fact that silicone marbles different every time you pour it—each Strange Bedfellas piece really is unique.
