A risqué secret, wearing the Hush plug outside? Lovense Hush 2 is a vibrating anal plug with Lovense app control (including long-distance control)—and it comes in 4 possible sizes.
But, but: the four different Hush 2s are not built equally for your butt. They have different vibrating motors, plus extra-small Hush 2’s design is less wearable. What we found testing the Hush butt plug:
The Run-Down:
Most-powerful vibrating butt plug, with excellent app control. Body-safe silicone. 4 possible sizes.
From $89 to $119 USD at Lovense. $73 for average-size “small” @Peepshow.

- Lovense app control’s smooth. Great connectivity.
- Long-distance play possible.
- Safe flared bases.

- Vs. Hush 1, Hush 2’s improved by no gritty spiral texture in neck.
- Size small has best power vs. rumble balance.
Cons
- Size XS is awkward to wear: poor neck design.
- Size Medium has more buzzy vibration than Small.
- Less comfy for all-day wear vs. Pure Plug (which doesn’t vibrate).
Every Lovense Hush 2 (scroll down Lovense store) is made of nonporous silicone (plug body) + ABS plastic (under the base). It has Lovense’s Bluetooth app control (with long-distance capability!), is IPX7 waterproof, and is magnetic USB rechargeable.
The Hush butt plug’s 4 sizes are: XS is 1″ diameter × 3.75″ insertable length; Small is 1.5″ diameter × 4″ insertable length; Medium is 1.75″ diameter × 4.4″ insertable length; and Large is 2.25″ diameter × 5″ insertable length. We tested the first 3 Hush-plug sizes out!

My Review Criteria
All body-safe, zero BS. I only recommend body-safe toys, no bullshit and no paid promos. If I wouldn’t give a toy to a close friend, then I won’t recommend it to you, either. I’ve tested over 1,080 vibrators, 530 dildos, and 165 butt plugs (and a plethora of cock rings,, kink gear, and lubes!). Everyone’s preferences vary, so I rate vibrating toys by 1. power level and 2. rumbliness; and always describe how my personal tastes color my experience.
Our Lovense Hush 2 Tests & Findings
Makes u feel naughty and sexy, as the Lovense Hush vrrrrooooms with vibration inside your ass.
Overall, we think the Hush Plug 2 in 1.5 inch diameter is the best vibrating butt plug (called “small” size, but it’s a standard medium-sized anal plug). Spicy to wear out: and have your derriere be controlled, the Hush’s vibration leaping and rising.
Hush 2 plug, 1.5 Inch diameter
The best vibrating anal because: Lovense Hush 2 “small”‘s vibration is strong but not too buzzy, and it’s no problem to wear.
Its tapered egg shape let me push the Hush 2 in slowly, gently expanding my anus and the sphincter muscles that encircle and tighten, immediately after the asshole. After I’d warmed up with a 1.25″ diameter plug (get a good trainer plug kit for this), I was able to insert the Hush 2, slowly, steadily, within 5 minutes. It was in… and I turned it on. It shook, moderately strong on low…
Then it was even better to turn up the vibration, creating a stronger loooong-wave pattern via Remote in the Lovense app (hit the “Float” option on the right side so the vibes never stop). Tingly. Bumpin’. I walked around a bit, then sat down, turned on.
I just enjoyed it for a while. The Hush 2 1.5-Inch has a good balance between power and frequency; it’s quite strong but not too buzzy. Since I can’t come from anal plugging, eventually I pulled out a hella-rumbly magic wand, and got off hard while applying it to my clit.
Outside the house, the Hush 2 is quiet enough in any public place where music is playing (and probably OK even if there’s less ambient noise). It’s for the times when he says I need to wear a vibrating butt plug today, instead of a pussy vibrator, as we go out. The Hush feels scandalous in a tit-raising way, here.
My all-time favorite plug for secret wear remains the Njoy Pure Plug medium size, which is 100% worth the 316-grade stainless steel’s price, because the Pure Plug is an incredible design. It feels less bulky inside my butt, but super-slick and I can wear longer than any other butt plug comfortably.
Hush 2 1.75 Inch diameter
The Lovense medium app-controlled butt plug has even stronger vibration: Hush 2 1.75-Inch-Diameter is just over 1 inch more circumference (5.8″ circ.) vs. the Hush 1.5-Inch-Diameter (4.75″ circ.).
It’s girthier than I need my butt plugs to be, so my boyfriend tested it solo.
“Strong” really encapsulates his feels about the Hush’s vibration. He finds it wearable for a couple hours (which is how long the Hush 2’s battery life is), without discomfort. “It’s a fun thing to wear while bored @ working from home,” he says. He notes that he likes the Lovense Edge 2 the most because the prostate stimulation is much better vs. the Lovense Hush—but one can’t focus on other things while Edge-ing, it seems. So, Hush it is for vibration that’s stimulating but can be worked around!
Vs. the Edge 2 prostate vibrator, Hush 2 (medium or large) has the advantage of easier wear. Edge’s canoe base contains a perineum vibrator, but it’s heavy and makes it try to pull the toy out if you’re walking. Hush 2, in contrast, doesn’t slide out. He does wish the Lovense Hush 2 large size’s neck was just a bit longer—more like the Snug Plugs.
Hush 2 “medium”‘s vibration starts rumblier (=deep vibration pitch) than Hush 1.5-Inch, but that’s only on the first 10% of the speed range (accessible via Remote inside the Lovense app). After that, the 1.75-Inch Hush plug has the kind of vibration I won’t let touch my clit directly because too buzzy.
But, not everyone’s as sensitive to buzzy vibration as I am. And the higher pitch translates into a more powerful feel. The Hush 2 1.75″ is much better than Lovense nipple clamps, for example: Gemini is the worst of both worlds, pitch & strength, even buzzier + weaker than the larger Hush butt plugs.
Hush 2 XS size
Neither of us has any time for the Hush 2 extra-small size plug: it’s not shaped for easy wear. It has a serious design flaw, so it’s a fuck no for comfort in my ass.
That’s sad because the smallest Hush 2 has the deepest & rumbliest vibration. I had expected it to be my favorite Lovense Hush, before testing.
The problem: XS Hush’s got a very short neck (only 0.5″), plus a boxy bulb. A hard edge that doesn’t taper smoothly, like all 3 other sizes of the Hush 2 vibrating plug do. XS’s not rounded enough.
This ill-conceived ergonomic choice means the XS Hush 2 both pokes my butt canal and is likely to slide out if I try walking around while wearing it. Yikes.
Vibration Functions and Strength
The Lovense Hush 2 gets stronger, the bigger size you buy, we’ve found. Every Hush has 7 vibration functions built-in (3 steady speeds + 4 patterns of vibration), then you can gradually adjust the intensity via the Lovense app.
I like the “Quite strong, not buzzy” feel of Hush 2 “small,” but Hush “medium” is even stronger.
Rumblyness (=low vibration frequency) ratings for each Lovense Hush follow—from lowest to strongest in each vibrating butt plug motor (where 10=max. rumble, and 0=max. buzzy):
- XS Hush 2: From 10.0 to 6.5.
- Small Hush 2: From 7.8 to 6.3.
- Medium Hush 2: From 9.0 to 2.0. Rumbly only on the lowest intensities, under 10% power. All the higher intensity levels (over 70% power) begin to bzzzz, less than 4/10 for rumble.
How to Use a Lovense Hush
How to Turn on the Hush butt plug
To turn on the Lovense Hush 2, find its power button in the center of its anchor base. Press on it for 3 seconds. The plug will begin vibrating.
Then, tap the power-dot again to cycle through the 7 functions. Or sync to the Lovense app:
Connect to Lovense app
Download the free Lovense Remote app on your phone. You can control any Lovense vibrator without creating a profile in the app: use the Remote option that’s the first block in the homescreen.
See the option to sync the vibrator to your phone via Bluetooth, a link icon in the upper right corner; or just tap the top of the screen to connect to your Lovense toy (that’s already been put into standby, hold down its power button for 2–3 seconds).
For long-distance play, you do need to create a Lovense app account. No personal info is required, and you can choose whatever username you want (if it’s still available! Options r becoming more limited; you may end up adding lots of numbers to the end of your name). You do need to verify the account via an email.
Full how-to on Lovense long-distance app control here. Over the years, I’ve tried the Lovense app with tons of different devices, and its connectivity is always miles better vs. the We-Vibe app and almost all other vibrator control apps.
How to Wear Lovense Hush
First, inserting the Hush 2 plug. With anything anal, remember to go slow and stop if you’re uncomfortable. Let your butt draw the anal plug or dildo inside, as you apply gentle pressure under the toy’s base. More how to insert a butt plug tips here.
A good lubricant is so important. We like melted extra-virgin coconut oil: it’s a natural, healthy plant oil that doesn’t damage silicone. I also use a squirt of Sliquid Silk sometimes, mixing inside my coco-oil-lubed canal, to get the Hush 2 1.5-Inch’s final widest point inserted. Sucked up inside! Then, it sits so comfortably.
The long part of the Hush 2’s anchor base rests in the butt crack. It’s pretty slim, though not as much as the Snug Plug’s ergonomic T-base. I haven’t experienced any chafing during testing the Hush 2, but I wouldn’t run or take a long hike while wearing this Lovense vibrating butt plug.
Care & Cleaning
IPX7 Waterproof! The Hush butt plug’s silicone + ABS plastic body can be submerged in the bath.
To clean, just use your normal handsoap. Scrub the Hush plug under running water from your sink.
It’s USB rechargeable. The magnetic charging nodes are underneath the base. The charger will easily click into place when next to the Hush 2’s base.
Recap & Rating
The Lovense Hush 2 is indisputably the best vibrating butt plug for sale in 2024.
Anal plug options in body-safe silicone abound now, you have a million choices: But I’ve never felt a wearable butt plug that rocks as hard as the larger Hush2’s (all except XS size, which disappoints me).
The Hush 2’s small size (an average 1.5″ diameter) is the best bet if you’re not into XL anal play. Its vibration power is balanced vs. its depth, so it reverbs without feeling buzzy. Being app-controlled via this Hush inside, while my partner and I are having a night out, is a sexy treat.

Fun per dollar value: Good-times anal vibration & teasing, for all but XS Hush 2. The vroom-vroom power is a dirty secret to wear out; or while bored at home. Fantastic app control & stable connection. Easy enough to wear, not as sublime as Pure Plug. For the thrill, vs. the orgasms. | 4.0 |
User experience/ Ease of use: Based on small Hush 2: Smooth-tapered egg shape’s easy to get in, working gently with plenty of lube. Comfortable to sit on for a couple hours, or walk in at a moderate pace. Stays in place! Zingy, strong vibration. Doesn’t turn off accidentally. Would u recommend going xs if youre a beginner and never used a plug before?
No, definitely not, because the XS’s bulb and neck are not comfortable to wear. I would:
Vibration in a first plug is also distracting. You want to take some time to feel what’s normal and what’s uncomfortable anally, as this learning process helps you understand what pain signals to avoid as you size up, so you don’t accidentally create tears and fissures in the anus or epithelial tissue of the rectum. (Obviously, lubricant is hugely important to avoiding tearing too, as is going slow and not trying to force too-big toys inside.)
In your Best Toys (of 2024) article, you list 3 other vibrating plugs but not the Hush 2. Here, you do recommend the Hush 2 as the best vibrating. Which would you say you most recommend?
Also, in general, which anal toy(s) do you most recommend for couples to use to stimulate each other or during intercourse [whether that’s in me (male) or my partner (female)]? We have less interest in wearing around or outside. Would it be a vibrating plug like above or something else entirely? Like we were looking at the njoy products too (pure plug or pure wand). Wasn’t sure if pure plug was more for wear than our purposes. Open to whatever recommendations you suggest, doesn’t have to be something I mentioned!
For reference, we have no problem with anal sex (me in my partner) despite not having the experience with toys prior. We have less experience with anal for me, though I have tried one of those Doc Johnson crystal jellies many many years ago – now I’m not so sure those are body safe.
Thank you for this guide!! This website is such a great resource.
Right, right, that 2023 list wasn’t an overall best plugs recs, it was a couple plugs that either were released in 2023 or I discovered in 2023 in the case of the T-bar Rosebuds.
Personally I don’t like anal toys during vaginal penetration, I cannot deal with DP because it’s the most overstimulation – so any experiences would be for male wear to also stimulate the prostate / or anally during PIV.
I don’t think you can go wrong with owning a Pure Plug. Even if you don’t think you’d like wearing around, you might be surprised; the loop is rather for anal wear next to a vagina that’s being penetrated, but my bf likes the large size for stimulation a lot. He also likes the Aneros Psy as a bit of add-on, though using Aneros during sex apparently doesn’t let him have the more relaxed buildup and intensity of an extended solo session (I am distracting, lol).
Thank you so much for reading!
