Best Magic Wand Vibrators – 60+ Wands Tested, 7 Years’ Revised Guide!

Can you get any better than a Magic Wand?? This powerful vibrator’s been a superstar since the 1960s for stronger, faster clitoral orgasms. The best magic wands are massagers that shake ur stuff – they give you clit stimulation strength + all-over pelvic quaking.

Over the last 7 years, I’ve tested 65+ different wand vibrators!!! Now updated for 2026. I adore girthy vibration stimulation – the kind that O.G. Magic Wands are fan-favorited for.

But I’ve discovered the Hitachi Magic Wand isn’t the only wand vibrator you should consider today: Several modern wand toys deliver lighter-weight handling, more colors, and easier grip to handle during sex, too.

Lineup of top wand vibrators compared side by side, including Magic Wand and PalmPower models

Best Wand Vibrators Recap: Magic Wands vs. the World

As I’ve spent years growing my mondo wand collection, I’ve realized which qualities are actually important, versus which “features” are marketing bullsh*t: Like: “Flexible neck” is listed as a sales point. My reaction: You think that’s a *good* thing? Do these marketing people even use wand vibrators???

After ruling out 85% of all the wand vibrators that’ve entered my home, I’ve selected the following as my top 2026 best magic wand vibrators (plus one hands-free accessory!). Only wand toys with a non-staining, body-safe silicone head are allowed to grace my presence 😜! Nonporous silicone is just the most basic upgrade from the Original Magic Wand.1

  1. Strongest wand I’ve ever felt: Pretty Love Rattler ($73.99) is un-frickin‘-believable: Stronger than a Doxy Die Cast, yet one-third the cost. No low speeds. (I gotta use it through clothing, acting as a barrier!) Cordless. Splashproof.
  2. Best balanced wand: Xara Speed Wand ($54.99) is my personal favorite after extensive testing, for easiest to hold power & 5-speed adjustable range.
  3. The OG, classic wands that last: Magic Wand Rechargeable (cordless) & Magic Wand Plus (the most power, corded). The gold standard of wand vibrators, née “the Hitachi.” Padded heads for comfort + good pressure. Not waterproof except the new MW Waterproof ($189.95).
  4. Best mini wand: Swan Era ($59.99). Full silicone coating & custom-intensity: compared vs. PalmPower Recharge, here. Very lightweight & easiest to fit into sex with a partner (interferes the least!)
  5. Best rumbly speeds + smaller size: PalmPower Recharge ($74.99). Exceptional speed range from “low-&-rumbly” to “damn strong for its size.” Custom intensity control, deepest vibration. Waterproof. Cordless.
  6. Hands-free wand harness: The Pivot harness (pic below) is so you do not have to manage a big magic wand’s 13-inch length: you strap it to your thigh, adjust it, and the wand head remains wedged against your clit. Will fit all vibrators 5-inches or longer.
  7. Best app controlled / long-distance play: Lovense Domi 2. Stable Bluetooth connection. Lacks low speeds. Rattles after a few years. Water-resistant.

Hands-free wand play: how the harness keeps the head planted where you want it.

Pro tip: Adding a pussy plug into wand play is superb if you like vaginal stimulation at all. A wand vibrator clitorally + the soft plug inside are a beyond-good combo.

This table compares power and vibration range versus price: It’ll be most helpful if you’re a maximum power fan, you love your clitoral vibration strong! *The Bang-for-your-Buck rating averages the wand vibrator’s top power + speed range / max. possible values, then scales for higher vs. lower prices. (So if a wand toy is high-priced, it’s gotta be really strong to get a high score.) It does not comprise convenience features like: waterproofness, weight or length, ease-of-grip, or plug-in vs. cordless.
† “Speed range” means how different the vibrator’s lowest intensity feels versus its highest intensity. Often I state this as “from 7.0 to 9.25 / 10 intensity (high to low),” but here I’ll subtract the low number from the high number—to get a single figure for how much intensity range a particular vibrator motor can offer you.

The above table includes details specifically about the most powerful wand vibrators, including features, size, and warranty coverage. If you want to compare all vibrators (across multiple styles), our strongest vibrators guide has all the data!

More details about each rockin’ strong or rumbly vibrating massage wand, and my experience with how each wand vibrator holds up over time:

The Classic Wand: Vibratex / Hitachi Magic Wands

Magic Wand Pros: The original orgasmic phenomen: Hitachi legacy. Power-driven (=Rechargeable & Plus); Mini and Micro are less-strong. Very unlikely to break, even if you grind on their heads. Padded.
Cons: Only in white&blue; strongest is not waterproof or splashproof.
💸 Price: $139.95 for MW Rechargeable (cordless); or $84.95 for MW Plus (must be plugged in); or $189.95 for MW Waterproof.

The original. A “body massager” that smart women perverted, the Hitachi wand became a feminist icon for damn good reason: “the mother of all vibrators.” This thing is strong, and very likely to help 90% of testers reach clitoral climax quickly. The Rechargeable and the Plus wands will quake ‘n’ shake your pelvic floor — from pubic mound to butt cheeks — sending waves of vibration through the clitoris & labia.

Magic Wand Rechargeable - how does Magic Wand feel
As Magic Wand vibrates away, you feel its classic padded head as smoother to grind on vs. most silicone-only wands.

The Magic Wand Rechargeable stands out for its 4-speed range and rumbly depth. However, the permanently corded Plus is stronger. Quick recap table of Magic Wand stats by model, here. All 3 non-Micro Magic Wands possess a rumbly rotating feel: you can really sense the RPM (rotations per minute) as the vibration rolls inside the massage-head.

Magic Wand size comparison: Plus vs Rechargeable vs Mini vs Micro
Magic Wand sizing, side-by-side — because “mini” actually means a medium size here.

The padded head is 100% exclusive to these best Vibratex Magic Wands2— safe silicone, encompassing foam— making Magic Wand heads gentler to grind on.

Literally millions of Magic Wand fans are satisfied by that smooth-yet-compressable feel—yet earlier Magic Wand vibrators have several drawbacks:

  • are not waterproof or water-resistant (until Magic Wand Waterproof, next);
  • continue to have only the 1 color;
  • are not soft as in squishy, like super-soft silicone can be;
  • are pretty damn big (except for the less-powerful Mini).

…So frequently, I’ve turned elsewhere for my best wand sessions — to smaller, easier-to-handle wands like PalmPower Recharge, Swan Era, or the Xara Speed Wand — depending on whether I want maximum rumble, lighter handling, or a more balanced middle ground.

Magic Wand Waterproof

The new made-in-Japan Waterproof Magic Wand was released summer 2025. I’m very pleased to be able to use an actual Magic Wand in the shower!!! And the bath!

MAGIC WAND Waterproof review

Unfortunately, its vibration has a bit less resonant depth vs. the Magic Wand Rechargeable, which IMO is the gold standard wand vibrator still. See how the Waterproof MW lacks the resonating frequency bands of the Rechargeable. Still, the Waterproof is marginally stronger: Crank it up to speed #4, and I can climax fast while we’re both getting wet. I’ve even submerged mine in the bathtub, and it’s running just like new. Still, it’s not as strong as the next tested wand series:

The Strongest Wand Vibrator: Pretty Love Super Wand

Pretty Love wand Pros: The most intense wand I’ve ever felt, even stronger than wall-powered corded wands. Curved handle lets you apply clitoral pressure, easier. Just fantastic power. Lower price than Doxy wands.
Cons: Most intense also means no gentle speeds. Higher-pitched vs. Magic Wands. Not quiet – this is the power tool of clit-massagers.
💸 Price: $73.99 Here (original medium) or $94.99 Here (Magic Wand head size)

Oh. my. GAWWWWD. Full stop, I would *not* have believed this wand vibrator existed if I wasn’t physically holding one. The words “So Strong” don’t even communicate how unusual it is that this Pretty Love (smaller!) wand massager, is 10/10 more powerful than Magic Wand Plus.

Pretty Love Super Power "rattler" wand compared side by side with Magic Wand Plus and a Doxy corded wand
Left to right: Pretty Love Super Power vs. Magic Wand+ vs. Doxy: Wildly different feels, weight, and intensity.

Pretty Love starts on intensity #3 out of 5, and whoooa I gotta turn that thing down (full Pretty Love Super Wand review). Even on speed #1 (accessed via the Pretty Love’s (–) button), I first have to use it through 3 layers: shorts, underwear, then more underwear folded inside my underwear. It’s too much for my “medium-strong power loving” clitoris otherwise. But with the fabric barrier….and then fully warmed up…. phewwww. I can’t remember my labia ever throbbing so hard after an orgasm. Added bonus: it’s one hell of a neck massager, too.

Two Pretty Love Super Power Wand sizes compared: medium and full-size head vs. hand
Same brand, two head sizes: The full-size version (bottom) spreads the same intensity over more surface area.

But wait, there’s more ⬆️: For broad stimulation, the new BIGGER Pretty Love has the 2.3-inch thick head like an OG Magic Wand. It’s still exceedingly strong, and it averages 4 Hz lower-frequency (so it’s slightly rumblier vibration). OMG, I put clean socks over this thing’s silicone head, it is too strong to use direct on my clit.

If, instead, you also prefer a strong smaller wand that is not a jackhammer, my best overall results come from the following:

Best Balanced Wand: Xara Speed Wand

Speed Wand Pros: Strong vibration in a lighter, mid-size wand. 69% lighter than Magic Wand Rechargeable = easier to hold and position; slim handle is comfortable to grip. Good “middle ground” power — strong without being overwhelming.
Cons: Less deep, rumbly vibration compared to PalmPower Recharge. Starts moderately strong, so not ideal if you need very gentle low speeds.
💸 Price: $54.99 Here

Strong, lightweight, and easy to use IRL. The Speed Wand by Xara Toys has 5 adjustable speeds — and I love it because it’s so much easier to hold during any kind of sex. It’s strong vibration but 69% lighter than Magic Wand Rechargeable. See their size compared:

Xara Speed Wand shown next to Magic Wand Rechargeable to compare length and handle size
This is why it’s easier during sex: strong wand vibes without the full-size wand bulk.

The Speed Wand became my most-used clitoral vibrator out of all the toys I own, over the course of the last 2 months. (It’s even started replacing my favorite clit suction toy.) Why this wand? Well, the vibration is just zingy. Energetic. It’s not super-rumbly, but not too buzzy — and the range feels very balanced vs. other powerful wand toys. The 1.85″ head diameter is another happy medium: It’s wide enough for full clitoral and vulva coverage, without feeling clunky.

Xara Speed Wand head shown next to a hand to demonstrate 1.85" diameter head size and coverage
The sweet spot head size: broad coverage without feeling like a club.

If you’ve wanted Magic Wand–level satisfaction without size & wrist fatigue, this Xara Toys wand checks both boxes. (It’s definitely stronger than Magic Wand Mini, plus has more adjustable vibration with 40 total levels.) The Speed Wand has ended up replacing not all other wand toys among my “nightstand vibrators” because its power is so much easier to hold (and then climax from).

Rumbliest Wand: PalmPower Recharge Wand

PalmPower Recharge Pros: Absolutely the best speed range, rumbly, and it rocks even though it’s smaller. Easy to travel with. Simpler to hold & fit into sex with a partner.
Cons: Removable cap requires 30 seconds more cleaning. Not for grinding on, nor extra broad clitoral stimulation. 6-mo. warranty.
💸 Price: $74.99 right now (Check Price)

PalmPower Recharge compact wand vibrator shown in two colors
Travel-friendly size, surprisingly deep rumble.

PalmPower Recharge is the easiest wand vibrator to travel with, and a serious favorite for when I want more oooomph partway through sex – but don’t want a long handle interfering between me and my guy.

It’s definitely the best “bang for your buck” value if you need lower speeds, not just strong power – if you value sheer power most, see Pretty Love wand recap, above. The PalmPower R’s got fantastic adjustable range between the low & high speeds, and you get to fine-tune the vibration via Incremental Control! (The same system found in my all-time fave G-spot vibrator!!!)

The PalmPower Recharge wand is fully waterproof too, unlike the Lovense Domi bluetooth magic wand. See how much smaller the PalmPower is:

Three wand vibrators compared by size: PalmPower Recharge, Fun Factory Vim, and Lovense Domi
Can you believe the middle one (=PalmPower Recharge) is stronger than the top one (=Vim wand)?!? Domi at bottom.

Only downside: the PalmPower R’s silicone head cap creates a small seam. The problem is then: rubbing the PalmPower head against my vulva is less smooth. My two PalmPower Recharges have held up great (I got a new one when the blue color came out!!), but I don’t recommend them for folks who apply all the pressure onto their wand massager heads – the necks will bend too much, causing stress and potential damage to the vibrator wiring over time.

Accessible Grip Wand Vibrator: Swan Era

Swan Era Pros: Rumbly pitch, quaking vibration. Good speed range with adjustable control. 100% smooth silicone. EZ compact size & grip.
Cons: Moderately powerful, not aggressively strong.
💸 Price: $54.00 Here. (Discount applies in cart.)

Swan Era is pretty strong, but mega rumbly. That’s deep vibration quaking its compact head – yet, it’s Swan Era wand handle that makes it the easiest, most convenient toy.

Swan Era wand vibrator shown to highlight ergonomic grip and compact wand head
Easy-grip wand design = less wrist work, more consistent positioning.

The contoured grip is the kind of “ergonomic” that’s so streamlined, you wouldn’t notice it unless you’ve had previous annoying experiences finagling bulky wands.

This is a boon for anyone with wrist or joint issues, but also for folks who share my style: preferring to stroke off by rubbing a vibrator over their clitoris + labia. The Era wand is a treat to maneuver, and doesn’t obstruct too much space either – so with it, I can always avoid clit stimulation clashing with penetration or sex-machine play! (This small magic wand also works well alongside a G-spot dildo.)

Best Soft, Grindable Head: Shroomie

Shroomie Pros: For clitoral rubbing massage, via the squishy softer silicone head. Still wide like a big wand, but short stalk-handle is easier to hold and move. Affordable.
Cons: Less powerful versus the best wand vibrators. Limited speed range. Not rumbly.
💸 Price: $38.99 – $49.99 Here.

The Shroomie mushroom vibrator’s changed everything about how I enjoy broad clitoral stimulation. It’s a revelation, since I’ve always like stroking softer things over my clit (rubbing it) – and that’s possible with Magic Wand Rechargeable, but not easy.

Maia Shroomie mushroom vibrator showing soft wide silicone cap for broad clitoral stimulation
Soft, squishy cap = better for rubbing/grinding than pressing a hard wand head in place.

This is simpler stroking. Grip the lil white stalk, and I can massage the Maia Shroomie broad cap fast over my clit and labia. Hell yeah!!! The slight friction, the motion, makes me need less vibration power than if I was holding a normal wand stationary over my clitoris.

The Shroomie’s second speed is often enough to fully satisfy me. It’s convenience, when I want something big & fleshy but vibrating (not a dildo!) to mash into my stuff. My clit🦪’s in 🍄❤️. I ordered a second Shroomie so I’d have a backup, just in case!!!

Best Bluetooth Wand: Lovense Domi 2 (vs. Magic Wand)

Domi wand Pros: Lovense app. Srsly, this is *the* distinctive feature: the app stays connected and runs smoothly. It’s strong for its size.
Cons: Gets rattly over time. Only in black, wtf. Shows spots.
💸 Price: $119.00 @ Lovense.

A Bluetooth magic wand? Maybe. The Lovense Domi has more the feel of the OG 2-speed Hitachi, except 30% less-strong. That’s still forceful.

Lovense Domi 2 wand vibrator shown close up
The reason to buy Domi is the app. Its power is pretty good, but its connectivity is its stand-out feature.

The Lovense app continues to have the best Bluetooth connection. Lovense vibrators maintain their connection with your phone in a way that makes me wonder why it is that other vibrator manufacturers can’t access the same Bluetooth APIs. (We-Vibe’s app is stinky by comparison, for one.)

I liked the original Lovense Domi wand. Then, all Lovense’s vibrator “updates” after 2019 made the toys weaker: like Lovense Lush 2 had a stronger motor than Lush 3 or even Lush 4. Unfortunately, Domi 2 was slightly more rattly to start, and now after a couple years (Domi 2, updated review) it’s super-loud. Worst, Domi 2 lost the deep & low setting I really liked in Domi 1 – which you can’t even access via the app now.

Oh well. It’s quite strong, mid-sized, and if you’re in an LDR and want bangin’ clit control, you might love it.

Best Adjustable-Power Wand (If You Don’t Grind Hard): PalmPower Extreme

PalmPower Extreme Pros: Excellent motor: close to MW Rechargeable, but with adjustable intensity. Easy-to-hold handle. Angle facilitates grip when sitting down, or for clit stimulation in flat doggy style.
Cons: Don’t push into the head too hard too often, you’ll break it.
💸 Price: $108.99 Here

The PalmPower Extreme is a class-act great vibrator.* I like it most for letting it sit, running inside my shorts: where the unique angled head lets its handle stick up comfortably in front of my belly. It’s actually ergonomic.

*As long as you don’t press too hard on it. If you bend the neck hard by rocking into it, you will break it. This hasn’t happened to me, but I hear about it from readers.

PalmPower Extreme wand vibrator held in hand showing the angled head design
The angled head is what makes PalmPower Extreme easier to position with less pressure on your wrist & palm — especially when lying back.

PalmPower Extreme is close to Magic Wand Rechargeable power-wise. Except the PalmPower gives you more vibration choices, via Incremental Speed Control.

PalmPower Extreme’s head is slightly smaller vs. Magic Wand: 2 inches for the Extreme, vs. 2.4 inches for Magic Wands R. and +. It’s an exceptional wand vibrator, as long as you treat it gently.

Other Wand Vibrators, Power Summary

Other magic wands that offer good, body-safe power from reputable makers—but that have gotten consigned to my “unloved vibrators” piles b/c their motors and features aren’t right for me:

Tested wand vibrators that didn’t make my top picks
Some of the wand vibrators I’ve tested that didn’t make my current top picks: the castaway wand-vibrators pile!
  • Magic Wand Mini (8.0/10 for power; $75.95). Good if you adore the Magic Wand Rechargeable on speed #2 or 3, but you want it in a smaller size—truly easier to fit into missionary, for example. The Mini Magic Wand weighs 54% less! Padded head. 3 speeds only. Cordless; not water-resistant.
  • Doxy Die Cast and Doxy Original corded power wands. Some people swear by their Doxy wands. I’m not one of them myself, finding the Doxy Die Cast unwieldy instead of enjoyable. It is a fair chunka change for the weighted Die Cast now ($230 USD; for 9.8/10 power). The Original Doxy wand now has a silicone head and is $100 less than the Die Cast full-size, but is more in line with the top speed of the Magic Wand Plus – which you could pay $60 less for. Doxy wands break 12× more often vs. Magic Wand vibrators.
  • We-Vibe Wand 2, review: (7.75/10 power; $169): Pretty good rumble. Decently adjustable, big smooth head. Waterproof. Feels a lil less emphatic than most wands. 2-year warranty is the biggest advantage.
  • Femme Funn Ultra Wand (9.0/10 power; $73.99). Zesty half-sized wand that kicks when you turn on the “boost” button. 3 steady speeds, none of them low & rumbly. Pros: Fully silicone, waterproof, and cordless. Con: Might die before 1 year in due to semi-flexible neck; has a 1-year warranty with replacement.
  • Mini Halo by Shibari/Voodoo Toys (8.25/10 power, $49.99): The Shibari Mini is known for having lots of power in a small size, for a cheaper price. Widely available. Not bad, will get the job done; but neither powerful-powerful nor rumbly.
  • Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large, review. (9.2/10 power, $199.99). Waterproof, rechargeable luxury vibes. Rumbly on the lower end of the speed range. Not the strongest, but not bad vibration. The biggest downside? Lelo’s significant brand name markup. Cha-ching! The performance doesn’t match the pricetag. Avoid Smart Wand medium, which gets the most negative reviews.
  • Magic Wand Micro (6.5/10 power, $64.95): Itty-bitty Hitachi, I call it: the Micro Magic Wand is like a bullet vibrator, except with a compressable head. Much less powerful. Biggest con: Very flexible neck = less pressure. Vs. other Magic Wands, the Magic Wand Micro is much harder to reach orgasm with.
  • Doxy Number 3 (9.25/10 power; $179.99). Neither as heavy (👍) nor as strong (👎) as the full-sized Doxy wands. Permanently corded. Smaller, but not light-weight like PalmPower Recharge. Con: Doxy No. 3 heads have a high fail rate (they come unscrewed, and can’t be screwed back on) and are a *chore* to clean. Avoid the “Doxy Die Cast 3R massager” (aka Doxy 3R), which is a big 👎 given its more-limited speed range yet high price.
  • Lovehoney Wands: The full-sized ones have some strength (but why get a knock-off when u can get a real Vibratex/Hitachi Magic Wand for the same price???). The Deluxe Rechargeable Mini Massage Wands come in cuter colors now, at least. When they go on sale for around $40, then it isn’t a bad deal – nor a fantastic one, either.
  • Dame Com (7.5/10 power, $119). Rumbly. Stronger than other Dame vibrators, but avoid if you like the power of Magic Wand Rechargeable. Full silicone coat is nice. Waterproof. Ergonomic angle is easy for solo use. Mine died after about 10 months, so possibly not the most durable. 1-year warranty, though.
  • O-Wand (9.25/10, $199): Bulky; and again, its pricetag is too high for its medium-high vibration power. O-Wand is long, top-heavy, and seriously unwieldy. The manufacturer claims it’s “the world’s most powerful rechargeable wand…” No way.
  • Fun Factory Vim (8.5/10 power; discontinued). Deep, low-pitched rumble and adjustable intensity that used to compete with PalmPower-style motors. Unfortunately the flexible neck and textured head make pressure harder to apply comfortably, and durability complaints increased before it was discontinued.
  • Maia Nala Wand (9.5/10 plugged-in power; $86.99). Strong, aggressive vibration with a firmer neck that allows good pressure application; also, lighter weight vs. Magic Wand Rechargeable. Downsides are short battery life and a louder, more surface-level vibration feel compared to rumblier wands.
  • Viben Sultry & Obsession (8.5/10 and 9.6/10 power, respectively; $89.99). Both deliver strong motors and comfortable full-size handles, with Obsession being especially intense at first. However, reliability has been inconsistent— many units lose strength or fail within a year, and some difficulty with warranty replacements.
  • Petite Wand by Orion (7.5/10 power; $47.99). Compact and easy to maneuver during sex, similar in concept to Swan Era. Good entry-level strength. Less rumbly than newer compact wand designs, and only 3 speeds (plus 7 patterns).

How-To Use a Wand Vibrator – Positions

This is a brief recap of how to use a strong wand vibrator. My full how-to wand guide covers positioning options in more detail.

Magic Wand handles are meant to be held: Vibratex handles flow from thicker to thinner at the end – so if you’ve got small fingers like me, you can grip closer to the end, as the Magic wand sticks straight up in the air.

Magic Wand Mini vs Magic Wand Rechargeable size versus legs showing length difference
Mini vs full-size Magic Wand: Smaller handles are often easier to position during sex or longer sessions.

You can also hold a wand vibrator’s handle farther up, and use it extended in front of your belly as you kneel / lean forward. This is the position for magic wand usage during doggy-style sex.

Of all sex positions: “spooning” is the very easiest for magic wand fit.

And smaller, lighter wands are the easiest magic wand massager to grip during sex. This is why I rec’ the Swan Era & PalmPower Recharge highly: less interference.

Compact wand vibrators lined up including PalmPower Recharge, Magic Wand Mini, Maia Shroomie, and Petite Wand
Compact wands leave more room to move — one reason I reach for smaller models during partnered sex.

But the laziest position of all goes to:

Best Magic Wand Positioning Tools

Lying your butt back in bed, pillow behind your head, as any magic wand is strapped to your leg.

I’m finding the Pivot Forced-O strap so good here. The most tension builds when I’m crossing one leg over the other, clenching my thighs around it:

Wand vibrator secured in thigh harness showing hands-free positioning setup
A thigh harness keeps the wand head in place so you don’t have to hold a full-size wand the entire time.

Adding in some ankle cuffs (even when I’m by myself) feels super hot. But you can add more restraints and a partner for full-on BDSM play with a Magic Wand vibrator too! And, here are other wand accessories for clit grinding, listed.

How-To Climax on a Magic Wand

Top tips for orgasming on a wand vibrator:

  1. Start on the lowest vibration setting.
  2. Apply the silicone massage head over the clitoris. (Start by using a small mirror, or flipped cell phone camera, to see your body first if you’re not certain where the clitoris is!)
  3. Clench your pelvic muscles & hold as you feel turned on (kegels, of short 5- to 10-second duration.
  4. Gently rub the wand head up-and-down your vulva – or grind against it, for extra stimulation.
  5. Rest and allow yourself to just feel the arousal as the vibration travels through your nerve endings.
  6. Continue to clench your muscles and/or rub on the wand toy’s head as you keep going.
  7. Let yourself make noise too, as you increase the vibration intensity and do what feels best for you!
  8. For a final orgasmic pass, I suggest counting down from 20 while either rubbing on or stroking the magic wand head over your clitoris – you’re not allowed to orgasm during that time. Then stop… and do it as a countdown from 10, and then from 5 until you cannot possibly hold off from orgasming any longer.

💡⚡Tip: If you have a very powerful magic wand (like Pretty Love Super Power, or Magic Wand Plus), try it through clothes first: Put any cloth barrier (underwear, PJs, a soft washcloth, etc.) between the wand & your clitoris + vulva. This trick from the “Betty Dodson method” playbook (93% orgasm success rate!) allows you to warm up to the strong vibration, and not feel immediately desensitized. You can remove the clothing/cloth whenever that feels right, to amp up the clit stimulation.

Care & Cleaning the Best Wand Vibrators: Magic Wand vs. Waterproof Wands

Have you noticed yet: The meh answer to “Is the Hitachi Magic Wand waterproof?”, was a hard NO – until Vibratex finally released the Waterproof version (it’s $50 more than the Rechargeable Magic Wand) this year.

All earlier Magic Wands are not waterproof, not splashproof / water-resistant. No IPX rating at all, in fact. The official recommendation for cleaning a Vibratex Magic Wand head is to wipe it down with a damp cloth.

I’ve run a light stream of water (interspersing with soap) over the Magic Wands’ silicone heads over the years, and mine are still kickin’ it as strong as the day I got ’em: Yet, I need to pay more attention to carefully washing them (to avoid dousing with water), and they’re definitely not shower-friendly.

Viben Sultry review - underwater waterproof submersible testing PR
Pretty much every modern wand vibrator except the Magic Wand Rechargeable (and plug-in Doxys) is IPX-rated for water resistance.

A wateproof submersible or water-resistant rating means easier cleaning without fear:

You just scrub soap over a wand vibrator’s head, mixing in some water to create a good lather. All soaps (and detergents) are antibacterial because they surround and trap bacteria and other microorganisms, lifting them off the silicone’s surface, to be washed away in water.

You can store all body-safe wand vibrators together in a single drawer. Avoid mixing silicone vibrators with super-soft silicone dildos, including dual-density silicone; or super-soft vaginal plugs. The two forms of silicone won’t degrade each other, but the softer density can delaminate the silicone coat over a vibrator’s underlying structure (creating a bubble).

If you’re feeling dry and want to apply lubricant to your wand: that’s great, no problem. Choose a body-safe water-based lube or hybrid lubricant: my go-to lube is now the safe balanced lubricant Solina Vera – since its formula is less destructive to sensitive tissue vs. most lubricants.

  1. Which has a PVC/vinyl head that will stain and yellow. Avoid that stuff. ↩︎
  2. Vibratex purchased authentic Magic Wand distribution rights when Hitachi shied away from continuing to sell their wands as sex toys, *gasp*, as if pleasure and sexual well-being are somehow shameful – their loss. ↩︎

  1. Speaking of wands, I wonder if you’ve tried one of the Le Wand’s Die Cast wands (rechargeable or plug-in)? I like the look of Doxy Die Cast, but I’ve heard how often Doxy wands break, so, even with replacements, I don’t think they’d be worth the price. And for Fun Factory Vim, another weighted head wand, on reddit I’ve seen a few people here and there mention issues with it breaking and only getting 2 or 3 replacements before Fun Factory refused to send them any more. Le Wand Die Cast wands, despite (to me) clearly being a copy they made due to the popularity Doxy’s Die Cast and Fun Factory Vim’s weighted head, would seem like a great option if they turned out to work really well (as in, they don’t break, have decently rumbly vibes, and good range of power from lowest to high), but a complete waste of money if it’s just a copycat with poor performance (still breaks just as easily as Doxy and Vim, is buzzy throughout the speeds, supposedly has many speeds but barely any change or few speeds but has huge jumps between them). I’ve especially been eyeing the plug-in all black version because of how sleek it looks, though other color options also look nice. And I also wonder which wand attachments would it be compatible with, if any.

    • Right, yes, the plug-in black Le Wand does look nice. All the previous Le Wand vibes I’ve tried so far ran from “not bad” to “really doesn’t match up,” in terms of motor-power or vibration depth. None of them are stand-out all-time favorites, so it really depends on 1.) individual needs for power & rumbliness and 2.) individual experience with / critical judgments formed on other “luxury” level vibrators. If someone’s got more toys, they’re less likely to be impressed with any Le Wand as a rule.

However, I have not felt the plug-in Le Wand yet. It could be an exception. I am not betting on that, but it is possible.

Yes, with the Vim, you want to make sure you’re not bending the neck too much for sure. Warranty might be worse now since Satisfyer’s parent group took control of Fun Factory financially last month. Definitely buy from Fun Factory’s site direct if you expect even one warranty replacement.

  2. Really great update to your magic wand guide!
Could you please include some info about what size thigh the forced O wand harness fits?
I’m interested in it but have thick thighs that I’m not sure it’ll fit

    • Hi, thank you so much. You’re right, that’s an important clarification. I’m measuring it as fitting up to 28 inches circumference without being super-tight. It’ll stretch to fit around the narrowest part of my abdomen, ’bout 30.5 inches around, if I stretch it hard, but I wouldn’t say that’s comfortable for very long.

  3. So would you recommend the HMS Palm Power Recharge as a waterproof alternative to the rechargeable Magic Wand?

It’s my wife’s favorite wand but we’d like something waterproof for bathtub/jacuzzi play.

As always thank you so much for your expertise! You’ve never steered us wrong!

    • Yes!! I am working on it – I also have a blue one, and I honestly like the color better, though black has classic appeal and looks hot with BDSM gear – Peepshow Toys told me that they’re waiting on the blue color to arrive still. I’m going to start working on a fuller review after I do the Magic Wand Waterproof next.

Edit: I decided that yeah, it’s been 57 years with no waterproof Magic Wand, plus MW Wwaterproof is not that unexpected versus the other large Magic Wands, so I did go for writing on Pretty Love “Rattler” Super Power first!
