Tantus’ Super Soft C-Ring is a functional, but no-frills toy, so in this review I’ll be discussing both it (the nonvibrating version) and Tantus’ Vibrating Super Soft C-Ring, which my husband and I find more interesting.
Both Super Soft C-Rings have an inner diameter of 1.5″, so right at/barely larger than the average penis girth. But the silicone is soft enough that you can really expand the rings: the stretched maximum diameter is 4.75″.1 This stretchiness has a good side and a bad side:
- According to the product description, a Super Soft ring’s flexibility “mak[es] it easy to put on and adjust as needed.” My husband (I’ll call him “Willie”) and I have found this to be true: putting both Super Soft C-Rings on is no struggle at all. More importantly for Willie, who loves to progress to stretching cock rings around his balls too, the softer silicone makes this tricky procedure a piece of cake.
- But…once you’ve really stretched the ring, it doesn’t quite go back to its original girth. It’s not exactly loose around Willie’s average-sized member, but it also isn’t tight. However, it may provide a snugger (but not super-tight) fit for a larger cock. This is why wearing these C-rings around both cock and balls is best if you’re looking for extra tightness, whatever size you may be.
Honestly, though, Willie wasn’t especially enthusiastic about the nonvibrating ring because he thinks vibrations on his balls are where it’s at. The nonvibrating ring may provide extra tightness on the underside of his scrotum, but apparently life’s too short to not want vibrations too.2
So, at some point during our sex sessions, we usually switch over to the Vibrating Super Soft C-Ring. When I first discovered this ring, I was curious about the strangely shaped bullet that fits into its vibe slot. As Willie and I were soon to find out, the unusual shape is essential in making the Vibrating Super Soft C-Ring function properly. But first we had to figure out how to turn on the vibe, which doesn’t have an obvious on/off button. Instead, you press really hard on one end of the vibe, for about five seconds.
Then, the vibe (sadly) only has one setting. It’s reasonably powerful, if a little buzzy.3 The vibe works fine, but if you’re a power-lover, you’ll probably find yourself disappointed. And as it turns out, Willie is indeed a power queen (king? monarch?) when it comes to how intense he likes vibrations on his balls. By our second session with the Vibrating Super Soft C-Ring, he had decided to switch out the included vibe for a Charged Vooom Bullet.
Getting any vibe in or out of the bullet slot is a little difficult because of the thinness of the silicone in that loop. It’s much thinner than the cock ring itself, and so the material tends to fold over on itself. With some wiggling, though, we managed to get the second bullet in and positioned it how Willie likes it, on the underside of his balls.
It took about fifteen seconds for him to start complaining loudly. I couldn’t tell because I was facing him, cowgirl, but the cock ring had begun to wiggle around. With a larger, heavier vibe in the Vibrating Super Soft C-Ring’s loop, as he describes it, “The vibe wants to dig into one side of my scrotum.” The ring moves “catty-corner” and refuses to stay centered underneath his balls—which is apparently “like having a thumb pressing into one of the pressure points in [his] scrotum” with the deepest part of every thrust. When my weight presses down on Willie, the pressure of the off-center vibe is worst.
So using a stronger vibrator in the Vibrating Super Soft C-Ring’s loop was clearly out of the question. This is why we like this cock ring, but it’s still not Willie’s favorite.
Final Thoughts
I love Tantus as a company—they’ve been committed to making body-safe silicone sex toys for twenty years, including my all-time favorite dildo—and I would definitely recommend Tantus’ Super Soft C-Ring as a good first cock ring for wearing around both cock and balls. The stretchy silicone does make this cock ring simple to put on, and comfortable to wear, if you want to make your erections last longer. (Plus the price is really low, especially for high-quality, long-lasting silicone.)
But if (1) you’re like my partner and you’re looking for more powerful vibrations on your balls and perineum, or (2) you want a cock ring that will provide intense clit stimulation, then Tantus’ Vibrating Super Soft C-Ring may not be the absolute best option out there. The included vibrator isn’t weak, but it’s not really strong either; it just depends on what level of power you want. And sadly, because of the thinness of the Vibrating Super Soft C-Ring’s vibe loop, other, more powerful bullet vibes don’t work very well with this cock ring.

* * *
- Makes a fine bracelet if you like the veins in your hand to pop out freakishly! (Seriously, though, you obviously don’t want to do this for very long because it will cut off the blood flow to your hand, just like it will on a cock.)
- I feel the same way about texture on my dildos, as you can see in my Tantus Echo Super Soft review.
- High-pitched, not especially penetrating.
