Shaft Bullet Vibrator Review

Truly a novelty. The Shaft bullet is a small, dick-shaped vibrator; made of smooth silicone over a firm vibrating motor core.

Like tiny vibrating dildos… Honestly made for sitting on my desk, because ornamentation is the only way I’ve gotten any pleasure from a Shaft bullet.

If you’re looking for a bachelorette party gift (for shits n giggles during a night of drinking), I expect these phallic vibes will be perfect. Or, if you’re into micro-penises! This could be for you!

Does it seem like I’m stretching here? Yeah… it’s because the Shaft Bullet Vibrator has some serious cons, especially in re its vibration quality. Let’s see:

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Body-safe silicone is silky.
  • Motor is not weak.
  • Rechargeable.
  • Good for a laugh.
  • 3 color options.

Cons

  • Vibration is high-pitched / buzzy all the way.
  • Has an annoying ⚡maximum-intensity button, instead of + and – intensity buttons so you can move down a vibration level easily.
  • Silicone detaches from motor core where the charging port is, meaning it may not be fully waterproof / won’t dry fully.
  • It screams “gag gift.” For $70.

Shaft Bullet Vibration Functions & Intensity

Buh-zuh-zuh-zzzzzzz. The Shaft Bullet has 8 vibration functions, including 3 steady speeds and 5 patterns to flip through.

All three speeds are high-pitched, and they are strong compared to most bullets!

The maker of Shaft toys, FemmeFunn / Vvole, is known for its Ultra Bullet vibe. The Ultra Bullet packs some nice power into a flexible silicone body, with a bulb grip at bottom. And the FemmeFunn Booster Bullet is similar, but even more powered-up:

So, based on my experience of those 2 mini-vibes, I immediately thought of the Booster Bullet when I tried out the Shaft bullet vibrator. The Shaft penis-bullet is like the Booster Bullet’s power…

Shaft bullet vibrator vs. FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet vs FemmeFunn Booster bullet

Just, even more high-pitched. Urgh. The Shaft Bullet starts out at a 7/10 for rumbly vibrations on my frequency scale (where 10 is most rumbly!); and ends at 4/10, solidly on the buzzy side of the scale.

Overall, I’m surprised that the Shaft Bullet feels more grating even through the thicker silicone layer. A thicker silicone coat usually dampens vibration, but the Shaft Bullet doesn’t feel more muted than the Booster Bullet!

My Shaft Bullet Trials

My experience with the Shaft Bullet vibe progressed:

  1. Upon see the product photo, I just found it funny. I think dick jokes are comical as well, so it was like
a more concrete version. Could be entertaining to have around.
  2. I received the mini vibrator in the mail, and removed it from its packaging.
  3. Hmm, the silicone wasn’t bad. Smooth, semi-soft. What about the vibration?
  4. I turned on the vibration. Oh, damn, that’s
 kinda strong, but high-pitched.
  5. Oh, wow, the vibration just gets buzzier.
  6. Shaft bullet vibe sits on my dresser for a month.
  7. I should probably test this. OK, I find the time at night

  8. Wow, these vibrations are not working for me. I put the Shaft bullet aside for 2 minutes and move onto another vibrator that agrees with my clit.
  9. I need to give it a fair chance. Pull out the Shaft bullet to use again

  10. Awww, man, the first intensity isn’t strong enough; but the (more powerful) second and third just feel grating-level buzzy vibrations.
  11. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do with this product.
  12. I wash it off, and sit it on my desk.
  13. It sits there for a week. One more try, because it’s good to space out testing; just in case my hormones or sleep-level or other physical factor have shifted, to make a difference in my orgasmic response.
  14. Still nope. Can’t do it.

It not me, Shaft Bullet Vibrator, it’s you. Give me a normal vibrating dildo to hold against my clit, any day; preferably one with easier-to-use button control.

Like all FemmeFunn products, the Shaft Bullet suffers from the “1-button control” problem, so you gotta flip thru all 8 (or 20) functions, including the patterns, to move down one level. Years of reviewer criticism about the 1-button control… and this company still isn’t listening.

How to Use the Shaft Bullet Vibrator

As a bullet vibrator, the Shaft bullet’s obvious use is for clitoral stimulation.

Shaft bullet vibrator review

You might use it vaginally if you’re wanting a short length: ≈3 inches insertable length from the tip to the “balls” bump at bottom, if you’re holding those mini-balls. It is not an easy G-spot stimulation toy, since the Shaft Bullet Vibe doesn’t have a pronounced coronal ridge or bulb to deliver the forward pressure needed to push forward into the “G-zone.” For safety reasons, the Shaft bullet is definitely not an anal vibrator; it lacks the flared base needed to prevent “overinsertion” (where a toy gets sucked up by the vacuum of the rectum, and may need to be forcibly extracted).

If used for clit stimulation, you may or may not need lubricant: The Shaft Bullet’s silicone has a silky finish, so it’s not grabby or highly textured. For some bullet vibrators, I do use lubricant: When I’m rubbing them up and down—rubbing my clit off, essentially. You can use a bullet that way, or just apply consistent pressure direct on your clit, especially if you’re someone who enjoys more pinpoint (focused)🎯 clitoral pressure. (If that is your thing, then a more-precise tip like the We-Vibe Tango X’s will be the best!)

Shaft bullet vibrator how to control

To turn on the Shaft bullet, you hold down on the “S” button. You also tap that button to cycle through the 8 vibration functions.

But, be careful not to hit the volt button if just trying to cycle through: That’ll up the Shaft bullet to its most-intense, buzziest level.

Care & Cleaning

The Shaft Bullet’s silicone is body-safe, meaning it’s functionally nonporous and won’t hold onto microbes like fungus and bacteria.

Just wash with soap and water after each use.

The charging nodes—which you place the included magnetic charging cord against, to recharge this phallic vibrator—are on the very bottom of the bullet, near the two control buttons. The charger should clip right on.

My problem is that I’ve noticed the silicone around those charger prongs slightly separating from the bottom of the bullet, making me wonder if they’ll allow water ingress. So, this isn’t a toy that I would (if I did enjoy the vibration) take underwater. Washing it, mini-penis head downward, in the sink should be fine. The Shaft Bullet does carry a 1-year warranty, at least.

Recap & Ranking

It’s a mini-penis vibrator, with pretty high-pitched vibrations and pretty-strong power.

I don’t mean to “yuck anyone’s yum” here, so my apologies if you are into small vibrating dicks. But… My question for FemmeFunn is: Was the Shaft bullet really something we needed—a gap in the market, a missing piece that sex-toy-fans actually wanted to buy?

As someone who loves phallic toys, but still never imagined a teeny vibrating dildo, I submit that the answer is a hard no.

  1. See, my immediate thought was that people of a transmasculine persuasion might enjoy this toy if the part you’re supposed to rub against yourself was the bulb at the base, and the controls were discreetly somewhere on the underside of the shaft. Obviously with decent quality vibration as well. That’s not something that needs to be a micropenis specifically, but a lot of transmasc/FTM toys actually are on the micro side of things (like the Jack by NYTC, or the Gender Extender by GenderCat, or my beloved Rod by Transthetics, sometimes when you’re just playing by yourself you don’t need a lot of extra bulk, also idk how to explain exactly but the more synthetic material there is the more you’re reminded that it isn’t really yours?) and honestly there’s a dearth of phallic powered toys where the stimulation is in the base and intended to be held with the tip facing away from the user. 🙂

That missed opportunity aside, I do actually thing small penises and penises as something to rub against genitals rather than penetrate them (frotting against other penises, grinding against vulvas) is vastly underappreciated just in general, and being of a more lesbian mindset I’d also picture it in the context of transbian tribbing. 🙂 But really, none of that excuses buzzy vibration. Maybe they made it buzzier because they thought rumbles would get lost in the padding of the toy…?
