Empress Swan Vibrator Review

It’s a rare vibrator I want to keep using and using and using!

Putting words together about the Empress Swan Vibrator has been a struggle for me, since I’d rather be lying back and enjoying the hell out of:

• Its SUPER rumbly internal motor; and
• Its finger-like massaging clitoral tips (that vibrate too).

The Empress by Swan & BMS has flapping “tongues” that move against my clit in time with the vibration. That’s SO GOOD for me, since I get off on clitoral stroking much harder than on focused static pressure.

So the Empress by Swan pleases me well—just that light rubbing, clit-bumping motion. I’ve even found myself wanting to encourage the vibrator’s efforts, thinking at it: “Yes, rub it off, rub my fucking clit!” It’s also now in my top 3 most-used vibrators this month because the motor power + the (self-propelled!) clit-fluttering, and I see the trend continuing! This review covers how Empress Swan—and its fully adjustable vibration strength, for both of its 2 motors—compares to the luxe power of the We-Vibe Nova 2, another fave.

Swan Vibration Intensity & Functions

The Empress Swan’s internal motor is simply excellent. I’d rate it an 8.25 for top power (on a scale where 10 is very strong). It’s the rumbly vibration that really stands out: Empress’ shaft is so low-pitched and doesn’t get above 80 Hertz even on high.

The clit-arm vibration is quite good, though not as “Eee-yeah, I love it!” as the vaginal vibration—since the clit stimulator has less space for the motor. It’s a bit weaker and higher-pitched (not buzzy-buzzy), which sounds negative. But it’s only “less awesome” in comparison to the grade-A internal motor; and still surpasses almost all other rabbit vibes’ external stimulators for how much I enjoy it.

This Swan vibrator by BMS Factory is part of a line of power vibes, with the Swan Wand being most renowned. But that Hulk of a vibrating dildo/wand has never gotten me off as hard as the Empress Swan rabbit here!

As for the functions: You’ve got choices, because this is fully adjustable control. It’s my favorite option to have in a vibrator. Here’s how the “Incremental Control” works:

First, you have to get used to the incremental speed control. It’s a quick learning process, and I promise it’s worth it. Having total control over the speed range is amazing!

So it’s got two buttons, one for each motor. Press and hold as follows:

To operate:

1. Press on either the clit button or the shaft button.
2. Don’t let go; keep holding till you like the vibration intensity.
3. Remove your finger when you find the power you want.
4. Repeat for the other stimulator, as desired.

My Empress Swan Experience

So first off, let’s just acknowledge that this vibrator’s name sounds like a fairytale. I keep wanting to call it “The Swan Empress”—clearly, a swan 🦢 of royal descent 👑 who, as a young cygnet, had her rightful throne stolen from her; then fought to reclaim her power years later, assisted by a band of good-hearted forest creatures & a magical whirlwind. Because why not.

In any case, I’m running with the “whirlwind” bit because the flicky-flicky triple tongues are blowing just the right way for my clitoris. I feel like BMS/Swan understood my need for not-super-pointy clitoral massage in this model, because I own another BMS rabbit with a spiky clit stimulator, and that’s…not comfortable. The Empress Swan’s tips, in contrast, are rounded and as wide as my middle finger.¹

It’s the top 2 flaps that really make contact, and that do flutter with the vibration. For me, this is a very welcome change from the traditional “rabbit” shape, which has ears to the right and left sides of the clitoris. I prefer stimulation running up and down (especially down) my clit, moving above the clitoral shaft.²

It’s like a lightweight built-in fingering, and I am HERE for that.

I still haven’t absorbed how much I LOVE the depth of the Empress Swan’s main motor! It’s like a stockier Pillow Talk Sassy, but with that fluttering clit-stroking going on outside. Soooo fun. This is what people imagine I do when they learn I review sex toys: Usually I spend 100x more minutes on mundane realities associated with running a website, vs. actually masturbating. But not for this one: I like it so much that I’ve tested it 5 to 10 times a week since I got the Swan Empress last month.

In simple terms: It’s just really good. I so want to recommend it to everyone who likes (1) having their clit rubbed and (2) rumbly vibration! (And who does enjoy normal-sized vaginal penetration.)

The clit stimulator is quite flexible, so I’ve got room to experiment with positioning. Naturally, the top of the top tongue will flutter against my clit. But if I move the “clit arm” up more, then I can have the 1st and 2nd tongues brushing against my skin. The shaft is flexible for the top ≈3.75 inches; it bends naturally, slightly, as I thrust the toy. The tip is firm and curved, so it’s G-spot stimulation of the “noticeable, but not WHAM” variety.

My one critique of the Swan Empress: The silicone finish could be smoother. It has a grittier feel than the Pillow Talk Sassy, for example (which is made by BMS Factory too). This Swan vibrator has a little more drag than I’d like—so, I’ll lube up the Empress vibrator with a solid line of thick (glycerin-free!) Aqua Jelle, and then manage to ignore the so-so silicone finish.

I’m a fan of softer silicone. I think it feels gentler and more natural, when it’s being thrust vaginally in particular. So that’s the one feature I’d change if I had the ability to recraft this vibrator for myself. Indeed, the Empress Swan is remaining tied with the We-Vibe Nova 2 for me as “best rabbit vibrator”—so I’ll give you a longer comparison of the 2 sex toys:

Both these vibrating massagers are flexible and have great motors.

The Empress Swan is tops because:

• Stronger motor power in the shaft.
• The flickering clit stimulator does work for me.
• Thicker: Something I prefer. Empress is average girth at 1.5 inches diameter, Nova 2 is slim at 1.2 inches.
• Incremental speed control: Fuller range—more options—and EACH motor is separately controlled. (With Nova, the 2 motors are united.)

Nova 2 by We-Vibe has these big advantages:

• Softer silicone outside: feels excellent while thrusting. Gentler, more penis-like firmness, which is my preference.
• Posable G-spot stimulation / more angle: The Nova 2’s shaft can be posed to a more dramatic angle, and has more of a bulbous “head.” It’s more focused for G-spot sensation.
• Clit stimulator is wide, covers more area. Good for me since I like two-fingers-width clit massage.
