Once in a long while, my vagina meets a dildo that just works for it—with no experimenting, no stretching, and no hassle. The Nude dildo by BS Is Nice1 is one of these rare toys.
My Nude is the “Cioccolato” (chocolate) color: the head is a deep tan, while the shaft is a grayish-brown.2 This interesting color scheme isn’t just for show, though: it’s one of the big reasons why the Nude has quickly become one of my favorite dildos.
Two-Density Dildos
The Nude is two-toned like this because it’s made up of two different densities (firmnesses) of silicone. The head is soft, malleable 7A-shore silicone that has the squishiness of a “firm” fantasy dildo.3 Meanwhile, the shaft is the firmer (but not hard) 15A silicone.4 Speaking technically, this makes the Nude a split-density dildo instead of a dual-density one.5 I’m impressed at how clear the divide is between the Nude’s squishy head and its shaft. BS Atelier is known for its precise stripes, and being able to pull this split off in two different densities of silicone, with no mixing between the colors, takes skill.
I love the feel of the head when I clench around it. It’s not super-duper squishy, but it has a lot of give. Together with the slightly-flexible shaft, it makes for a very thrustable dildo. More on that next.
G-Spot Away
I do love thrusting the Nude because of its soft, beautifully shaped head. The bell-shaped glans is pretty realistic up until the big coronal ridge, where it not only flares outward but also flattens out. This flattened ridge is great if you like broader G-spot stimulation, like I do. It’s a sharp contrast with the pinpoint stimulation of a dildo like the Fun Factory Boss.
With every stroke, the Nude’s head and broad ridge caress the front wall of my vag in a soft-but-stimulating way. (I can really feel the flattened ridge on the downstroke.) The Nude’s maximum diameter is just over 1.5″, and though I can sometimes be a bit of a size queen, this is really a great width for me to use comfortably every day.
Though I find that the Nude’s shaft curves at a perfect angle for G-spotting, I really don’t get a lot out of the shaft itself. But that’s OK, because the Nude’s head is all I need. I am glad that the shaft—though it can be bent almost in half if you’re trying—is firm enough to withstand fast thrusting.
A Few More Details
I think that the couple exaggerated veins on the Nude’s otherwise-smooth shaft are a nice touch. They’re not noticeable in use, but they add some interest to the plain shaft.
The shaft has a matte finish, so it’s not glossy, but it doesn’t create a lot of drag either. It’s a happy medium, if you will. There are a number of imperfections—small texture marks and slight lines—in the Nude’s finish if you look closely. This doesn’t detract from the dildo for me because I know it’s made of body-safe platinum-cure silicone that can be cleaned and sanitized whenever I want.
Finally, I’m a big fan of how small the Nude’s flared base is, because it’s really easy to grip. But because of this smaller size, you will want “to have a well-fitted O-ring on hand if you wish to harness this toy for hands-free strap-on use,” in Smitten Kitten’s words. Besides this, I do think that the Nude will work well in a harness due to its nice curve.
Overall: A Really Useable Dildo
If my house caught on fire tomorrow and I could only carry out a few toys, BS Is Nice’s Nude Cioccolato dildo would definitely be one of the chosen ones. I get consistently good orgasms out of it because its soft head and broad ridge are shaped just right for me.6 And, the Nude is comfortable for everyday use; it’s not a toy that I only pull out when I’m looking for mega-texture.7
The only reason it’s not my absolute favorite is that I do often prefer the greater realism of a dual-density realistic like the Tantus Uncut #1. But when I’m looking for something slightly more abstract but still very effective, I reach for the Nude.
You can buy the Nude direct from BS Atelier in four different color schemes. (Plus, you can now order a custom Nude in non-flesh tones!) Or, to buy from a North American retailer, check out Come As You Are and Smitten Kitten.
I’d like to thank BS Atelier for being so responsive to my questions about their products, and for sending me this lovely dildo in exchange for my honest review.
- Also known as BS Atelier, which I think sounds cooler. But I am a bit of a Francophile.
- Really, my biggest disappointment with the toy is that the shaft didn’t turn out as brown as the stock photo!
- Like Bad Dragon’s firm: see my Nox review for details.
- See my Silicone Dildo Firmness Guide for details and a comparison of many different brands.
- Dual-density toys have a firm core that’s completely surrounded by softer silicone. But not all dual-density toys feel the same: see my Firmness Guide’s “Dual-Density” section.
- If you prefer firmer stimulation and/or a lot of texture, though, the Nude probably won’t be your thing.
- Like the Split Peaches Rivetor, which I do really enjoy but which I can’t handle every day!
