The Tantus Magma is literally dripping, with textured rivulets running down its shaft—and of course it’s always ready to be used. Ready to be twisted and turned, so I can feel its explosion of swirling lines.
The texture starts with four thin, bumpy ridges jutting out from the “head” of the toy. Then the oozing effect starts: four drips down the front, and another down the back.
It’s the middle two drips—especially the longest, central one—that really endear my clit to Magma. Because this is very much a dual-stimulating dildo for me: those running lines rub me externally, so I just want to keep teasing myself with Magma. The “big drip,” as I’ll call it, presses against my urethra and hits the underside of my clit when I turn the dildo maybe 15 degrees off center. Or, I can turn Magma a little bit farther, almost 90 degrees counterclockwise, and feel another large drip pushing down on my clitoral hood.
The Tantus Magma just has a lot going on. It’s for the person who knows they want something a little different in their dildo, something more sensational than a plain insertable or a phallic toy.
Because Magma does have all that texture, all that drippy-ness, I think it’s great that Tantus decided to pour it in a softer silicone. Magma’s mold is the same as the Tantus Splash, but now it’s cast in a 10A shore platinum silicone. (Marginally firmer than Tantus Super Soft, Tantus told me in an email.) That means the shaft is pretty flexible, and the firmness is on the borderline of “soft.” Still, it’s easy to feel all the ridges, all the flowing lines, in this density.

Magma’s drips and drops also have a glossy finish, compared to the matte underneath. In use, that means that the oozing trails glide more easily. Still, I always lube up well with this toy, because the four head ridges are draggy without.
Because of its forward curve and those head ridges, I was hoping Magma would be a great G-spotting dildo. And it’s not bad for that use, but the ridges are so shallow that I can’t quite orgasm from them alone. It’s not the huge POP of the Uberrime Jellyfish 2.0’s ridge or the hard, bulbous pressure of the Njoy Pure Wand.
Instead, Magma’s head ridges give me a repeated, gentle tugging sensation. It heightens my senses, as the flowing drips rub against my vulva and I gradually move toward orgasm. The build-up is delightful.
There is one downside to Magma’s texture: the extra work I have to do when cleaning it. The drips accumulate gunk like crazy. I recommend tracing each drippy line with your finger and soap, under running water; and then double-checking for missed spots after the toy is fully dried.
Finally, my Magma’s color is best described as “brick red.” (The toy is also available in black.) It reminds me of a muted lipstick shade, and medieval tapestries, and the comb of the metal cock I once posed a bunch of colorful dildos with. This burgundy goes well with the whole lava theme, but I honestly don’t think many people would choose it over the shimmery two-color scheme of the original Splash. To be fair, Magma’s price is really affordable, and more complicated color scheme would change that.
Overall Thoughts
The Tantus Magma is exotic—an interesting change of pace from plain, realistic, and semi-realistic dildos. The shape is unique in a way that’s only found in fantasy silicone dildos.
I’m happy for the new silicone firmness: it’s flexible enough that I can bend Magma to massage my clit, but firm enough that I can feel all the texture. My favorite way to use Magma is to stroke slowly so that the biggest drip caresses my pelvic floor, between vag and clit; and to occasionally twist so I’m getting the wide ends of all those rivulets. The glossy finish helps make Magma more comfortable, as all the bulges glide better with lube.
Magma isn’t an intense G-spot/prostate dildo, but the stimulation from its ridgy head is subtle. It gently pulls on the most sensitive part of my vag. Combine that feeling with the drips bumping up underneath my clit, and Magma is a unique dual-stimulating experience. It’s for those times when I’m bored with the normalcy of all my realistic dildos or with plain in-and-out thrusting.
Oh, and by the way (!), Magma comes in two sizes: the standard one (featured in this review) is an average 1.5″ maximum diameter; while the Mini Magma tops out at a slim 1″.
