Split Peaches’ Unicorn Horn is a fun, twisty fantasy dildo. Though I’ve come to love my small Unicorn Horn, I have to admit that it doesn’t fulfill any long-standing dream of mine. Instead, “unicorn” makes me think of rainbow-explosion Lisa Frank folders, My Little Pony, Barbie, and all the other stereotypically “girly” toys that I didn’t much care for when I was a little girl. (I had a weird fixation on Jurassic Park, which maybe explains why I find dragon dildos so entertaining.)
But I won’t hold that against the Unicorn Horn. It’s a quality toy, handcrafted by a small, independent sex toy maker that I love: Split Peaches. Plus, it’s beautifully textured (more on that later).
Horn-y Stats
My Unicorn Horn is a small size (1.5″ max. diameter [right above the base], with 5.25″ insertable length), in metallic silver—it came as part of a set with my Rivetor and Screw You tool-themed dildos. The silver is very sparkly, and you can see glittery sparkles inside in the right light.
Unicorn Horns are also available in medium and large sizes, and in various colors, including pastel-striped; pearlescent white; and, yes, rainbow. The silicone is fairly firm by my standards, but is still flexible if you’re trying to bend it.1 There’s just a tiny amount of squish. If you’d prefer a softer toy, though, Split Peaches has recently (in March 2018) begun offering medium (10A shore) and Super Squishy (00-50) options.
And the silicone’s finish is a glossy matte that may require extra lube, especially if you’re using it how I prefer: spinning it around.
You Spin Me Right ‘Round, Baby2
That’s right, I’ve found that I don’t actually get much out of thrusting the Unicorn Horn—very unusual for me. It’s taken me a long time to figure out that, for vaginal use at least, I most appreciate the Unicorn Horn’s unique texture when I spin it around inside me. This circular movement lets me feel the gentle grooves in the silicone better than if I just jerk the Unicorn Horn in and out. Because the Unicorn Horn’s base is small and round (but safely flared for anal play), twisting the Horn around like this is easy.
I have a growing collection of dildos with lots of texture, and I can safely say that the Unicorn Horn is the only one that I enjoy spinning. I think that if I had a medium Unicorn Horn, which is 2″ wide at the bottom instead of 1.5″, I might like riding this mythical beast more, because I do crave more girth from the small size. Also, the Horn’s firm-ish silicone doesn’t bend much (unless you really force it), so I can’t get the angle I want for really good G-spot stimulation. This is why I’d 100% recommend using a nice bullet vibe while spinning (or thrusting) the Unicorn Horn.3 With this extra stimulation, the Unicorn Horn’s rotating ridges go from “Hmm, interesting!” to “Yes, that’s nice!”
But the Butt
But what about anal use? With its gradual taper, the Unicorn Horn does seem like an ideal fit for anal play. In theory. But…my rear end is wimpy. While my vag wants the Horn to be larger, my butt thinks it’s too much. I can only comfortably fit in maybe two inches of the length, try as I might. I kinda like the swirling texture in my butt, but I’m not enthralled. Really, my rectum can only feel two things: “Ouch” and “I guess that’s not too bad.” It’s not a connoisseur like my vagina.
Happily, like all Split Peaches toys (and all the dildos I review), the Unicorn Horn is body-safe, easy-to-sanitize platinum silicone. All I have to do is wipe it off, wash it with soap and water, and toss it in a pot to boil, and back to my vag the Unicorn trots.
TL;DR: I’d Take It for a Whirl
The Split Peaches Unicorn Horn puzzled me at first. Because I tend to thrust my toys, often very fast, I was missing out on the Unicorn Horn’s subtler texture. (I much prefer the Split Peaches Rivetor for really intense G-spotting.) But I’m glad I finally figured out that the best way (for me, at least) to use the small Unicorn Horn is to go slow—to spin the toy back and forth, round and round. Every now and then I like to thrust a little, but I always go back to spinning the Horn, so that I can get the most out of its twisty texture.
And hey, it makes a great decoration for your living space too, especially if you get it in one of the brighter color options! (Or you can confuse anyone within sight by trying to balance the Unicorn Horn on your head—good luck with that!)
Bring home your very own Unicorn friend from Split Peaches—especially if you want to customize your firmness or color choices. (Just add a comment in the “extra instructions” box if you want Super Squishy silicone, for example.) Or you can buy a number of Split Peaches toys from Peepshow Toys or from SheVibe.

- 20A shore durometer for small and medium Split Peaches toys. As always, see my Silicone Dildo Firmness Guide for details.
- I absolutely hate this song, for the record, and I kinda hate myself too for making it part of a review. And now it’s stuck in my head, aaaaarrg.
- This may sound like a “duh” piece of advice, but I’m kinda unusual in that, most of the time, I prefer not to use vibes in conjunction with my dildos.
