We-Vibe Wand 2 Review – Rumble to Rival FF Vim

This a definite upgrade for wand vibrator rrrrrumble, the vibe power traveling in rotating waves. Versus the original We-Vibe Wand, the Wand 2 is less bulky. Kinda.

Is this We-Vibe sex toy’s “luxury vibrator” price worth spending $169 on, and how does We-Vibe Wand 2 compare to the Fun Factory Vim it seems designed to fight to the checkout counter? I’ve tested the W-V Wand 2 for a month to find out:

Pros & Cons

Pros

• Rocking-rumbly vibration.
• Good vibration range – from super-gentle to strong.
• Wide, smooth head.
• Shower with it: It’s waterproof submersible.
• Body-safe silicone all over.
• Neck is decently supported. Less-flexible is good!!!
• 2-year warranty included.

Cons

• Handle shape is better, but still not the easiest to hold.
• Functionally useless Smart Silence feature adds a confusing button.
• Higher price corresponds with the longer, 2-year warranty.
• Some people need pinpoint clit stimulation, not broad like Wand-2 offers.

We-Vibe Wand 2 is made of nonporous silicone (massage head & handle) with an ABS plastic connector. It’s 10.67″ total length, its head has a 2.2″ diameter (left-to-right) or 2.45″ diameter (front-to-back) × 3.4″ length, it’s IPX7 waterproof, and it’s magnetic USB rechargeable.

My Experience with Wand-2

I’m impressed with how We-Vibe Wand 2’s vibration holds the rolling rotating rumble you usually find only on select great vibrators, like Magic Wand Rechargeable intensity #1. It’s so low to start, it thumps under the silicone head.

But then the speed escalates: Either tap or hold down the (+) button on the We-Vibe Wand 2, and it jumps up to a grrrowling pace, quickly.

It ends quite powerful, stronger than any small vibrator as the vibes flow from its wide massage head. Still, it is not as strong as big Magic Wands. Honestly, the Swan Era (my current favorite wand vibrator) is neck-and-neck tied with We-Vibe Wand 2, despite Era being 5-inches shorter. These 1st two are my favorite rumbly vibrators of the past year:

But the We-Vibe Wand’s waterproofness and kinda-less-awkward handle are advantages versus traditional Magic Wand toys. What I mean:

Waterproof Rating, IPX7

It’s still waterproof! Unlike Hitachi =Vibratex Magic Wands, We-vibe Wand can go in the shower or bath.

I like that it’s got no gaps between the “massage head” and “neck,” nor over the buttons; since those are the points where water would get into a M.W. Rechargeable used in the shower.

Wand 2 Re-Designed Handled

The 1st We-Vibe Wand had a wide handle with slitty lines up top, then angled in a super-narrow way that was even odder to grip at the end:

Now, the new We-Vibe Wand’s handle is… somewhat improved, but still kinda weird. I mean, it’s 5.25-inch circumference at the part where I hold it, which is less than the 6-inch Magic Wand R. handle circumference. It’s not awful to hold, it just isn’t simple for my hands to grip. I wonder if We-Vibe had guys with longer fingers testing it out, or if there were “sex toy test dummies” for this one 😄

Vibration Functions and Strength

The We-Vibe Wand 2 has 6 intensity levels × 10 vibration functions (1 steady, 9 patterned). This means you have 6 steady speeds, and 9 patterns that can get stronger or weaker by choice.

We-Vibe Wand 2 vs. Fun Factory Vim

The Fun Factory Vim was the rumbliest wand I’d ever encountered, when it debuted in spring 2023. The depth of these vibrations, all throughout the toy’s wide head, ohmygawwd.

Sadly, the Vim had fine-line texture covering all its silicone contact area: irritating for my vulva. Can I not just get smooth silicone here?? I wondered, depressed since the vibration was so good but I never wanted to use the Vim without a barrier (underwear) between it, and my clit.

Zooming back to today: The Vim’s discontinued in North America rn, since Satisfyer owns Fun Factory now – I dunno if Vim is ever coming back, and in what condition.

So I do think the We-Vibe Wand 2 is an obvious replacement, another luxury rumble-wand. The Wand 2 is *almost* as deeply-vibrating as the Fun Factory Vim, plus Wand-2 doesn’t bend so much like Vim does, so it’s not gonna break if you grind on it.

Vs. We-Vibe Wand 1

We-Vibe Wand original used a toggle switch, which was OK, but you had to be precise about the amount of pressure applied:

We-Vibe Wand 2 does have adjustable speed if you hold down on the (+) button, as the PalmPower vibrators pioneered. But, the adjustability is also slightly limited in the new W-V Wand 2, since there’s a big jump.¹

We-Vibe Wand 2 lacks the two teal silicone attachments that came with Wand 1: a fluttery thing that did basically nothing for my clit, and a penis-stroking taco-shape. For the latter, definitely get a dedicated penetrable toy that fully covers the whole hard cock, instead of just part of it.

How to Use We-Vibe Wand 2

How to Control

The We-Vibe Wand 2 has 5 total control buttons, to adjust the intensity level for 10 vibration functions, and to turn “Smart Silence” off.

This seems like overkill, since my favorite rabbit vibrator has just 2 buttons that do the same: accomplishing adjustable-speed control for 20 vibration functions.

To turn on the We-Vibe Wand, push down hard on the + button.

To increase intensity, press the + button again. (Or later you can hit the – button to decrease power!)

The side arrows ( < and > ) take you into the 9 vibration patterns, which you can also + or – the speed on.

But. Then there’s the ~ button. This encircled tilde is not my friend. It’s easy to press it instead when you’re trying to turn the We-Vibe off, since it’s right below the – button you have to push down on to power off.

Because this seemingly harmless, wavy button is like 😒:

Smart Silence is Rubbish

It turns on “Smart Silence.” This function would be named “But Why” Silence, if they’d asked me.

It turns off the vibration when the We-Vibe Wand pulls away from your skin over half an inch. This is annoying because what if I’m changing positions and still wanting to feel the vibes indirectly, or what if I’m wanting to use the Wand 2 through clothing and it doesn’t catch my body heat???

Anyway, you don’t have to use Smart Silence. But, like, why is it a feature in the first place? It seriously saves half-a-second’s time, if you want to turn the Wand off fast. It’s nothing. And when I turn it on by accident, I feel like it drains the Wand-2’s battery life faster – since I’m not sure whether Wand is actually off, or it’s just halted due to Smart Silence.

How to Position

The We-Vibe Wand 2’s silicone head can touch your clit & pelvic floor 3 different ways, when you’re using it for solo masturbation:

• Handle angles upward, like a curved shaft. Most conveniently, you use the 3″-long smooth stretch here to stimulate all around clitoris and labia, reaching as far back as the inner labia puffing out beside the vaginal opening.
• Handle angles sideways, either right or left. I tried this way to finagle a slimmer grip, maybe. I hold it leaning left, as I’m right-handed, angling the angle to more direct contact with the shorter, flat top of the massage-head.
• Handle angles downward. This was how I first tested the We-Vibe Wand 2, and it took me all of 20 seconds to be like, Nope, this is not right. Because: Getting good full contact this way makes me need to reach forward awkwardly, rotating my shoulder to compensate – it’s strange. I don’t recommend it.

Care & Cleaning

IPX7 Waterproof! The We-Vibe Wand 2’s silicone + ABS plastic body can be submerged in the bath.

To clean, just apply your normal handsoap, scrubbing the We-Vibe Wand 2’s head under running water from your sink.

It’s USB-A rechargeable, magnetically. The charging contacts are the silvery points above the We-Vibe logo and vibration control buttons.

I enjoy the new Wand 2 by We-Vibe – it feels smashing how quakey–shakey–rotatey the motor-power is. If you’re looking for a rumbly wand that’s going to last you 2 years plus, it makes sense:

Yet, I’m not in love with its ease-of-use: Wand-2’s handle & 5-button system are both trying too hard. As if We-Vibe was attempting to reinvent the wheel with this whole thick curved handle thing, when they could just employ a shorter, narrower, cylindrical handle with 3 buttons. That would appear less unique – but goddammit, it’d be simpler for solo clit orgasms.

The waterproofness + all smooth silicone are nice. It is the longer warranty (2 years, vs. the standard 1-year warranty for most companies) that We-Vibe offers, that’s the biggest advantage for the We-Vibe Wand 2.
