The We-Vibe Melt 2. Sure, Melt (#1, the original) was a smashing homerun 💣 for strong clitoral orgasms when it was released, back in 2019. But is Melt 2 new and improved? Well…:
- Overall, No, not really.1
- But, is new Melt 99% likely to get you to orgasm in 5 minutes or less? Yes. It’s still intense, via 12 different settings that crank up the feeling.
What is different about the We-Vibe Melt 2 vs. the original? Let’s dive in to this clitoral “suction”, a.k.a. air pulse or PleasureAir, stimulator’s profile.

FAQs, Melt 2
How Strong Is the We-Vibe Melt 2?
It’s super focused and makes the clitoris tingle hard, you can really feel the aroused bloodflow when using Melt. I think only the Womanizer Premium has clearly stronger speeds – Melt is among the very strongest clit suction toys.
How Is it Different than Melt #1?
1. New colors. I really like the sage!🌿
2. 9 suction patterns (all with adjustable intensity) were added. Originally, the Melt had no patterns, only steady blow-pulsing.
3. Melt has “Smart Silence” now, which is marketed as battery-saving. I find it incredibly annoying, so I’m glad I can deactivate it. (See below.)
How Does Melt 2 Work? (What is “PleasureAir”?)
It’s an air pulse toy, which many people call “clit suction.” It puffs→blows air out over the clitoris. To use, place the Melt 2’s “mouth” around the clitoris to create a seal. Press down to intensify the stimulation more.
PleasureAir is We-Vibe + Womanizer (Lovehoney Group’s) trademarked name for air pulse or clit suction. It’s the same thing as other toys like Satisfyer Pro 2 and most Rose vibrators.
Is it better than a Satisfyer?
Melt 2 is a little stronger, and easier to grip, than Satisfyer Pro 2.
Personally I like the Melt’s slimmer, oval mouth shape **much** better than the Pro 2, which feels too wide for my anatomy. People with larger clitorises (like more than 2× median clitoral size) tend to think the Satisfyer toy a better fit.
My Review of Melt 2 vs. my favorite clit suction toy
In short: The new Melt 2 comes in better colors, and has a gentler first “clit suction” speed vs. the original Melt.
OG Melt was my favorite *serious* clit stimulator for 5 years. Like “feel that power, my clit is throbbing so hard.”
Until 1 year ago – that’s when I discovered the Zen Rose’s also-strong suction, but with rumbly vibration, too, and wide-spread petals!
Since I’m a big “deep, broad Magic Wand kinda-toy” fan, the added vibration in Zen Rose and the fact that its petals stimulate my labia better, were the winning combo. I dropped the Melt from my “I use these often” toys drawer.
The We-Vibe Melt 2’s air pulse feels more punchy🥊 than the Zen Rose’s. Melt targets the clitoris (its glans = head) in a more blistering way. Not that I mean Melt is painful – just apply some lubricant to avoid feeling over-dried. Yet, neither air pulse toy is *obviously* stronger than the other. Your choice should depend on:
- How much you like deep vibration. The Melt still does not vibrate. Rumbly (=low-frequency) vibes feel like they travel through flesh better, stimulating more tissue in the buried clitoris & labia (vaginal “lips”). +1 for Zen Rose
- How many speeds you need. Zen Rose has 5 steady speeds. Melt has more: 12 total steady levels. +1 for Melt 2
- Warranty. We-Vibe’s for the Melt is 2 years. Viben’s for the Zen Rose is 1 year. +1 for Melt 2
- Price. Zen Rose is, of course, one-third Melt 2’s price currently ($44.99 vs. $134.10 with discount). +1 for Zen Rose
Overall, now the Melt & Zen Rose are distinguishably close in power, though Melt has a couple lower speeds. This is likely because after 1 year, my Zen Rose is starting to lose its battery life and wear down. Still, the Z. Roses’ fit is more natural for my body, as I adore its broad vibration. In contrast, folks who like the most focused clit stimulation prefer Melt 2 as their #1.
See Melt’s mouth (0.45″ W × 0.69″ L), in front of vase whose daisy-center is close to median clitoral size, 0.2 × 0.25″:
Melt 2 Pros & Cons
Pros
- Fast driving air pulse is 💥.
- Slimline shape fits against the body easier.
- Doesn’t interfere with sex or dildo-usage as much.
- Oval mouth matches natural clitoral dimensions.
- Body-safe silicone.
- 2-year warranty.
- Super-long battery life per charge: 4 hours.2
Cons
- Doesn’t vibrate.
- Minor indents visible in silicone upon unboxing. Doesn’t affect safety.
- Smart Silence is bullshit. (At least you can turn that off.)
Melt 2 is made of nonporous silicone, with ABS plastic deeper in its air pulse tunnel. It’s 5.3″ total length × 1.7″ exterior width, and its suction mouth interior dimensions are: 0.45″ width (transverse diameter) × 0.69″ length (longitudinal diameter) = 11.5mm × 17.5mm.
Ergonomic Shape for Couples Sex / During Dildo Play
The Melt’s body/handle is flattened, and its mouth curves. Why? It’s made to be able to arch, and rest against your pubic mound. You hold the “handle” side in front of your body, so it points toward your belly:
That’s the important part, because it means Melt doesn’t interfere by taking up space between the vagina and the clitoris. It takes up less space if you’re riding a partner cowgirl style; of if you wanna thrust a great realistic dildo into your body, while you’re getting the Melt’s strong clitoral stimulation.
Pleasure Air Functions – 12 × 10
The Melt 2 has 12 intensity levels – that means it gets stronger, in eleven different intervals after you start on the lowest speed pulse setting.
It then has 10 functions. One function is steady: so that’s really 12 steady speeds, and then 9 patterns / “rhythms” that can also be adjusted up or down.
That equals 120 total function options.
How to Best Use Melt 2 for Clitoral Orgasms
I’ve got 3 major tips for getting off hardest on the Melt’s clitoral air stimulation:
- Use a quality water-based lubricant for comfort.
- Increase intensity gradually – first, to a medium intensity level (like up to #7), and then higher to come fast (intensities 10–12).
- Kegels, pussy plugs, and dual stimulation. When you feel like orgasm is close, clench your pelvic floor muscles = this is vagina + urethra strength-training, but it can be fun! Do it in series of “hold and release,” counting down while thinking about holding off, then letting go. This is even better, IMO, when filled with another vaginal toy: First, the Melt and the G-squeeze are made for each other. Squeezing around G-squeeze’s squish + Melt takes it from *short moan* to *my head is spinning, I’m screaming*.😵💫😮
How to Control the We-Vibe Melt 2’s Buttons
To turn on the Melt, press its + button hard.

That’ll turn it on, but you can’t notice unless you have a finger or any warm skin (including your clit) within a fraction of an inch of Melt 2’s mouth. (See next section on “Smart” Silence.)
Continue pressing the + button to increase its “suction” strength.
If you ever want to decrease intensity, press the – button instead.
And if you want to check out the 9 patterns, hit either of the < and > buttons on the sides. Last, you can increase intensity in the patterns via the + button still.
Deactivating Smart Silence
You can deactivate (turn off) Melt 2’s “Smart Silence” function by pressing the ~ button twice in a row. (But not too fast. It’s a lil finicky.)
Smart Silence does not make the Melt quieter when you are using its clit suction. It only cuts the toy’s power when you take it away from your body.
That means, this feature saves you roughly 1 second every time you use the Melt – that’s how long it takes to hold down the – button and turn the toy off.
As a frequent user of the original Melt, I found Melt 2 especially annoying to use at bedtime at first. It was dark, and Melt turned its pulsing off so I couldn’t hear it, and easily find it, after I took a minute to rearrange my pillows!
I am remembering to power off Smart Silence now. I find it an alternately useless and annoying fake-feature.
Storing Your We-Vibe Melt
Once your Melt has dried after cleaning, it can be stored in any drawer. It does include a soft recycled-looking drawstring storage pouch from We-Vibe.
If are not storing it separately, you can store it with other air pulse toys and most other vibrators – just avoid storing it touching super-soft silicone, like the awesome G squeeze vagina plug.
Care & Cleaning
We-Vibe Melt 2 is waterproof. You’ll likely feel more if you don’t use it in the bathtub or hottub, though, since water pressure interferes with air-pressure-powered sensation, IMO.
To clean, I use liquid handsoap, squirting it into the We-Vibe Melt 2’s mouth, then running my finger around inside. It’s hard to get to the bottom of the air pulse tunnel; you could use a wet Q-tip for this. It’s more important to clean the part that touches your clitoris, further up in the mouth for most people.
Be sure to turn the Melt upside-down (so its mouth is facing downward) and shake out any excess water.
Preferably, leave it facing downward on a clean towel to air-dry.
It’s USB rechargeable, magnetically. The charging nodes are at the bottom-backside of the Melt’s handle-grip, easily visible as the only metal part of the Melt 2.
Recap & Final Melt 2 Rating
The Melt 2 is nearly the same as before, unless you (1) really love patterns of air pulsation and/or (2) want one more extra-low-speed setting: Melt 2’s first intensity is now smoother, slightly less aggressive.
Really, it’s the colors. I never was a fan of the bright coral tone for Melt 1, so then I got a navy blue one after a couple years, and it was too dull and shows all the lint. I’m now digging the sage green that new Melt 2 is available in – that’s the distinguishing feature for my body: my eyes’ pleasure.

| Feature | Rating (out of 5) |
|---|---|
| Orgasms per dollar value: It’s very good, well-designed and a strong toy, now with lower speed options too – it’s simply not the highest bang for your buck, for me, since $149 list price. 2× normal vibrator warranty, though! | 4.6 |
| User experience/ Ease of use: Easy to use, fast & convenient orgasms. You just need a good lube, and a relaxed space to use it in. Extra points for adding a vaginal stimulator. Would be perfect with rumbly vibration as well. Not a fan of the toy not turning on unless it’s already over my clit / finger – Smart Silence is confusing. | 4.7 |
| Luxury feel: Smooth silicone, but a few dents; Clean professional packaging; USB magnetic rechargeable; Waterproof; Storage pouch included. | 4.8 |
| Run time (4 hrs.) & easy charging | 5.0 |
| Total | 4.8 of 5 ⭐s |
| Air pulse power, low-to-high intensity [vs. all vibrators] | From 3.0 to 9.25 /out of 10 |
| Vibration depth (“rumble”), low-to-high | n/a /out of 10 |
| Volume (decibels) | 36 to 49 dB |
NOTES
- Not unless you like patterns that turn your clit stimulation on and off. It’s wonderful if you do – it’s not the most common preference to love & need patterned / rhythmic vibration to climax, but it is a valid preference! ↩︎
- Most vibrators run from 1 to 1.5 hours, and some only run for 45 to 50 minutes, per recharge. This is the longest battery life I have ever recorded for a vibrator or air pulse toy: 4 hours, 1 minute for Melt 2. ↩︎
As soon as I saw it on the peepshow website I was wondering when you’d post the review! 🤭
Thank you, I appreciate you wanting to read the review!
Hi! Sorry if I missed this, but would you say the lowest speed on the Melt 2 is the same as the lowest speed of the OG? I find the lowest speed of the OG to be a little too much to begin with. Was hoping to see some more variation in speed on the lower end with future iterations. I want to start it off easier without losing the power on the top settings. Thanks in advance!
Hi! I own the OG Melt, but I wished for a lower starting level. I was excited when I read your review and I bought the Melt 2. I am pleased to say that it is an improvement! The first 2 levels start more gentle & are much smoother. I haven’t tried the patterns. (Not a fan of them) Maybe I will some day. Thanks so much for your review!🙂
How does the material compare between the Melt and Melt 2?? Is the 2 made with the same super soft silicone that the original is made with?
The silicone is the same, just different colors. It is a standard medium-firm silicone that’s used for most vibrators, with a silky coating on top.
Hi. I am a big fan of yours and have been following for a while.
Although – I need clit stimulation to cum- either via air pulse or vibe, I crave DEEP DEEP penetration at the same time. I have found that my toys get in the way when having sex with my husband and it makes Deep penetration awkward.
What toy, in your opinion, is the most versatile in terms of clit stimulation (in various positions) while still allowing maximum penetration access by my husband?
You’re correct, the Melt (either 1 or 2) is the best pick. It’s the least interference of any strong air pulse clit toy. I can also use the Zen Rose during penetration, but not so easily as the Melt.
Is this one slightly larger longitudinally than Melt 1?
No, it’s the exact same shape between both versions of the Melt. Marginally different motor inside.
What would you recommend in between We Vibe Melt 2 and Womanizer Next ? Trying to figure out which one my wife would prefer! Thanks ! 🙂
The Womanizer Next is pitifully weak for $199. It’s a joke. The Womanizer Premium 2 is sooooo much better.
I really like the feel of the Premium 2, but personally I like the Melt 2 the best of all these because it’s easy to hold. Melt 2 is smaller and therefore less clunky; easier to fit against my body.
