Super Power Massage Gun by Pretty Love Review – Does It Match Their Wands?

Deep-penetrating rumble: The Super Power Massage Gun by Pretty Love has made me able to actually f’ing enjoy a massage gun for the first time. Why? Well, other massage guns all have this foam head that you can’t sanitize and you can’t wash well with soap and water. That’s gross — so a previous massage gun sample ended up as just a neck massager.

But now, Pretty Love has created a Massage Gun with very deep vibration and a 100% silicone head. It’s serious percussive massage that’s so much more body-safe for clitoral stimulation.

The Super Massage Gun’s amount of motion and packed power rocks the pelvic floor — yet I find the Massage Gun rumblier and less abrasive on low speed versus the Pretty Love Super Power wand (review). Here’s the full story about how it’s been to test this Massage Gun the last 3 weeks — how it feels to use different ways, including by itself clitorally, vs. along with a dildo, vs. letting my partner manage it:

Versus Other Massage Guns

Body-safe sex toy materials make all the difference when you want something that will last, and not hang onto bacteria from your body or mold from the air. That’s why the 100% silicone head in the Super Power Massager ($73.99 at time of writing) stands out from the crowd of foamy massagers:

The Massage Gun’s silicone sets it apart for folks wanting deeper tissue massage in intimate areas.

The previous massager I sampled sold for $200, yet still had this foam head. I used it thru clothing once, not wanting to get any fluids onto the porous head. The foam felt abrasive, rough, and gritty – even through underwear. I gave up.

And that’s not an isolated example. Even premium massage guns like Theragun – which starts at $159 (most models are over $250, up to $649.99) only sell with foam heads. So you’re out of luck if you want to use a deep tissue massager not only on your quads & neck, but also on your genitals safely & long-term.

Our Experience Testing the Super Power Massage Gun

Over 12 trials, we found the Super Power Massage Gun’s rotating head is going places: it feels extremely active (I feel its rotational movements vividly), and it thrums with deep vibration.

Different Uses Tried Out: Solo, Dual Stimulation, Partner Usage

It turned out best for use during dual stimulation (like along with a thruster toy) and for foreplay, where it is most amazing during a soft person-performed massage. Tested usages:

Solo Use (Clitoral). The uber-rumbly massage ball shakes, so if you like deep quaking vibration, this is a uniquely good choice. I haven’t found a toy that’s this fun to sit against, its handle sticking up, since the PalmPower Extreme – except the Massage Gun’s neck is more rigid; it applies more pressure instead of bending a lot. That’s generally good.

The downside of this product for my personal taste is that I like wider clit stimulation, and the ball is very round – I actually feel less diameter vs. other strong wand vibrators with flatter heads, including the Magic Wands R. and +, and even the smaller Speed Wand! This means that I prefer it as an addition to using other toys or to partnered massage, versus the Super Power Massage Gun by itself.

Large wand toy rests on leg of reviewer in denims shorts as she grips the black and gray Massage Gun by its textured handle.
It’s easier to hold the Massage Gun’s handle to the side while receiving a dildo (not pictured) vs. holding the long length of the Large Wand (pictured, top).

Dual Stimulation (Use during Vaginal Play). OMG. The first time I thought to try the Super Power Massage Gun alongside a best thrusting dildo, was mindblown. So good! The deep vibes, traveling, just got amplified another 3× by the thrusting toy’s motion. Very satisfying, would recommend.

Partner Massage Use! But most intimate was getting Massage-Gunned prior to sex with my partner. After a bit of working to find our best positioning, we moved from using it as an actual back massager, to getting thighs and butt teasingly caressed – and then employing the Super Power Gun as a clit massager while being held. Extremely 🔥 That’s a big improvement from the tested strongest vibrator wands, because:

Versus Pretty Love Super Wand Vibrators, Compared

The Pretty Love Wands have no low speeds. Zero, zilch, zip in terms of lighter warm-up power. The word “intense” is too bland to describe what it feels like when you turn one of of these bad boys on & hold it against your body for the 1st time. Peak vibration intensity in all 5 speeds, from #1 to #5, in both the medium Super Power Wand “Rattler” and the Large Super Power Wand.

In contrast, the Massage Gun doesn’t feel like it’s trying to achieve warp speed when you turn it on. Do note: it starts vibrating on intensity/speed #3 out of 5 intensity levels, so be sure to press the down (–) button to get the lowest rumble.

See Pretty Love Super Power sizes compared: The Massage Gun, right, is the shortest vibrator here, while its head size fits neatly between the Large wand (left, black) and the medium wand (blue, center).

The lower level makes it much better for letting my partner use the Massage Gun directly on my skin, versus the Super Power wands being easily overstimulating — I need dampening and/or full control to be able to successfully use the wands, they’re too strong to hand over IMO. In contrast, giving even my trusted partner the Massage Gun is not scary because I know it’s strong and rumbly, yet not excessively strong.

How Does a Massage Gun Work for Sex?

We came up with the following positions for using a massage gun to increase the intensity, interest, and arousal during partnered intimacy. You might come up with even more!:

Massage Gun held upright by handle in back massager grip style

Step 0: Grip styles.

  • Holding it “gun” style as seen here works great for use on one’s neck, or if you’re massaging a partner’s back.
  • Holding it inverted is better if you’re lying next to your partner, or holding the massager during cowgirl type positions. This means the handle is pointing upward, massage head facing more toward you.

Using the massage gun with a partner, tips:

  1. Behind with a massage by hand.
  2. Start by slowly running the massage gun’s head over the shoulders, neck, and then down the spine. Pause in the hollow of the back.
  3. With the free hand, caress the partner’s hips, butt, and/or thighs – paying most attention to their particular favorite spots.
  4. Explore running the massage gun’s silicone head over their thighs directly: the inner thighs tend to be most sensitive.
  5. Touching other sensitive areas, such as the breasts, can also help.
  6. Move to using the massage gun clitorally when ready. You can rest next to your partner in bed, leaning toward them to apply the vibrator; or in a “spoons” position; or the partner receiving the clitoral vibration can be on their hands and knees.
  7. It can be used exclusively as foreplay / warm-up, or you can later move into using the massage gun during penetration:
  8. The easiest positioning during sex is for the woman or clit-haver to ride on top slowly, while letting the massage gun against both partners’ pubic mounds. Alternately, it can be held OK during doggy style positioning or laid on (handle facing to the side) during flat doggy.
  9. The Massage Gun can also be experimented with as a ballsack vibrator, or against the head of the penis, or against the perineum as an “external prostate vibrator.” (It’s not really a prostate vibrator, the effect is more indirect; but the vibration here travels deeper than the vast majority of vibrators.)

Bonus: It’s a legit back and neck massager solo, too:

Pros & Cons of the Super Power Massage Gun

The Super Power Massage Gun by Pretty Love has 5 intensity levels × 7 vibration functions: Meaning, 5 steady speeds plus 6 adjustable-intensity rhythms. All 5 intensity levels are extremely rumbly & quite resonant.

Good For vs. Not Ideal for

The Super Power Massage Gun is best for:

  • People who like really rumbly vibration that’s not weak.
  • Strong wand fans who want a shorter length toy (6.15″ L, vs. ~13″ L for full-size massage wands).
  • Easier hold on big, wide power during massage and during sex with a partner.
  • Percussive, moving massage ball feel.

Less ideal for:

  • People with finger sensitivity or wrist issues. The strong vibration carries powerfully through the handle, and this is not super light-weight (1.01 lb.).
  • Anyone wanting focused pinpoint clitoral stimulation.
  • Anyone who needs a quiet vibrator. Very strong ones are never super quiet.
  • Folks expecting hours-long battery life. The high energy here drains the battery here more quickly than normal vibrators’.

Final Verdict on the Super Power Massage Gun

To answer the opening question of whether it matches the Pretty Love wands, quickly: the Pretty Love Massage Gun is not as strong on high, but it’s also not as strong on low, which is very good if you need a lower warmup level, and the vibration is much rumblier (meaning, deeper, lower-frequency vibration). We find it much improved for use as a couples toy vs. the Pretty Love wands – it’s usable for actual body massage, since it’s not so overstimulating, I’m not afraid of giving full control over to my boyfriend.

And for me during personal masturbation, this wand/gun works best when I use it clitorally at the same time as a vaginal thrusting toy – since it’s nice to hang onto, with the handle sticking out to the side.

Not high-pitched or buzzy, this Massage Gun carries weight — both literally and figuratively. Though not as forcefully intense as the Super Power Wand L., this silicone-headed “gun” has lower intensity levels; while its highest setting comes through in a percussive, rotating massage way. Its handle excels for being easy to hold if it’s wet, but it does transfer vibration: we recommend against it if you have sensitivity issues with your fingers.

If you’re looking for a neck, back, and shoulder massager that you can safely use on the clitoris too, then this is the one.

Almost unparalleled rumbly power: always deep vibration – never high-pitched, and pretty damn strong. Lower level (speed #1) is nowhere near weak, but not super-powerful; while speed #5 is percussive and STRONG.

User experience/ Ease of use:
The off-center weight is a slight adjustment, but we got used to it quickly. The handle design is actually ergonomic – like it was designed for and by a real person! Very grippable while making sure a thruster dildo base is secure. He liked the effect caused by teasing me with the big power.
