It’s named the Solina Sex Blanket, but its purpose is clearer when I call it the Solina Time Saver – truly. The Solina Waterproof Blanket has been incredibly useful to me over the last 5 months: Since I recently moved & picked out new cotton sheets I really like, I wanna both (1) keep the linens lookin’ good *and* (2) spend as little time as humanly possible on spot-cleaning stains – while it is a fact that the human body oooozes. ︶꒷꒦︶*💧😊
The Solina Sex Blanket’s timing is lucky for me – before this, I’d taken to using dog blankets as period blood protectors and lube spot shields, but this thing looks more polished, and is overall easier to un-mess. All my waterproof squirt blanket / period blanket findings⬇️:

Pros & Cons of Solina Waterproof Sex Blanket
Pros
- Silky, 2-layer blanket with water-repelling film.
- Avoids all fluid (semen, blood, squirt, pee, lubricant, etc.) from getting on fabric below.
- Machine washable (delicates); machine dry on low to medium.
- Large area for couples sex (or lots of toys!🎉).
- Better value vs. Liberator Blankets.
- Discreet look.
Cons
- Voluminous squirters will need to fold blanket inward, to put more than 8oz. fluid down bathtub drain.
The Solina Sex Blanket is queen size, 56.7″ width × 70″ length. It’s soft polyester with a moisture barrier that repels water & doesn’t allow seepage. You can use it over a king size bed too, it’ll have an 9″ gap on left & right sides but remains long enough to accommodate the torso, pelvic girdle, and thighs of any human body.

What a Waterproof Sex Blanket Does:
A good sex blanket will protect your sheets, couch, etc. from any or all of:
- Period blood
- Cum stains
- Squirting, in any quantity
- Silicone & oil-based lubricant stains
- Butt plug ooze
Versus a plain towel, the Solina Blanket covers more area – enough space to fit two people on easily – and doesn’t let fluid flow onto your sheets, cushions, pillows, or 🫣 mattress. My new sheets r unblemished after sessions with lots o’ lube, toys, and leakage on top:
My Experience with Solina Waterproof Blanket – How Useful is it?
98% of my reviews are about pleasure objects – toys that can directly cause orgasms or sexy sensation. But the other 2% are dedicated to wetness💧: as in, body-safe lubricants, or squirting, or fluid-repelling blankets (a.k.a., sheet-savers!) like the Solina Waterproof Sex Blanket.
The human body is 55% water on average, after all!1
Not to mention, if lubricant drips, the best part of the Solina Blanket is that it blocks the white hybrid cream from getting on the sheets. (This is slightly less of a concern now I’ve moved from the hybrid Silk lube to Vera thick aloe-based lube, now tested as the safest lubricant for both feel & balanced osmolality + pH).
This is most helpful when I have 3 to 5 sex toys I’m gonna insert vaginally, for an extensive “lazy weekend” play session. After the toy’s got lube and/or cervical mucus and vag. fluids on it, I can put it back down on the waterproof blanket then move onto the next toy! This is awesome with sex machine play, or just alternating between handheld realistic dildos and good clit toys & vibrators.
The Solina line is known for very lifelike dildos: see my Solina dildo size & feel guide for full comparisons.
Pure silicone lubricant is even more staining: like, Uberlube, which is the best for P-in-V sex. It’s so slick, friction-cutting, because it’s kinda oily. Oil is NOT getting on my new sheets.
Also, I’m an occasional squirter, (usually while being fingered/rubbed clitorally) – so this blanket is very helpful for that definite mess. It’s incredibly reassuring to know that it’s gonna block the squirt so much better than a towel would.
Then, my favorite vibrators for during-my-period sex are streamlined and rumbly – and sometimes, it’s late and I’m tired and I will fall asleep partway in. And sure, it’s possible to wash blood out of sheets, but if you’re a period-haver, you know: that’s so much easier *before* the blood dries on fabric.🩸🛏️😱 Now, if I’m wanting to fall asleep right after using a vibrator, I can just let it fall on this dark Solina blanket, and not need to care about removing crusty spots the next day.
Last: Standing in front of a window. This is fun. I have a lil back space, with tree leaves over top, and blinds that can angle so I can see out but no one has to see in. It feels hottest to stand in front of this window and rub my clit (and labia!) off with a favorite mini-vibrator. 😉 And if a bit of squirt drips down… my carpet is *not* affected when I’m standing on top of the Solina sex blanket.
Vs. Liberator Fascinator Throw Blankets
The Solina Sex Blanket feels very similar to the Liberator (“Fascinator”) Throws –essentially indistinguishable. The closest-size Liberator blanket is the standard, which is 81 inches2 less than the Solina Sex Blanket.
In contrast, the Solina Sex Blanket’s waterproof body is:
- 81 sq.in. more area, but
- $83 cheaper (=$71.99 for Solina, versus $155.00 for Liberator Throw) = that’s less than half the Liberator blanket’s price (46.4%).

How to Care for the Solina Blanket
You can wash spots off the Solina Blanket easily with soap and water. I recommend doing this in a shower or bathtub, since the blanket covers so much ground, water from a normal sink will roll off onto the bathroom floor.
Apply soap to any residue from your fluids or lubricant. I use liquid castile-type soap, and generally find liquid soap easier; but you can use any bar soap, too, if you like.
Spend 15 to 30 seconds massaging the soap over the residue, then let water run over it all. Let water flow off, then fold the blanket and take it to your washer/dryer area.
You can wash this waterproof blanket on delicates, with your normal washing soap. Then, dry it on medium heat in the dryer. After 1 cycle, check whether it feels dry. Run it again if it’s not, or fold it and store if it is dry.
Storage & Traveling With
It’s a large blanket, but not floofy, so it does fold & roll up easily. Here it is, folded on queen size bed:
It takes up some, but not too much, room if you want to roll it and store it in a suitcase.
It definitely beats the feel of lying over hotel towel – I’m thinking it’ll be super-helpful if on one’s period while on vacation, but still wanting to have sex. (I have not gone on vacation recently, yet!)
How Much Liquid (Fl.Oz.) Can the Solina Sex Blanket Hold?
There are squirters, and then there are SQUIRTERS. I’ve never squirted more than a half-cup fluid, but I hear some folks can produce more volume.
The Solina Sex Blanket’s water-repellant size will hold up to ≈ 4 cups (32 fl oz) water before the pooling really begins.
However, if you’re a 1–2 cup squirter, then you will need to fold the water-resistant blanket strategically, when removing it from your bed. The fluid doesn’t soak in, doesn’t soak through; it mainly remains on top. To do: Hold two corners, and let it fold inward; then grab the remaining two corners and fold those toward the center too – creating a sex blanket balloon of sorts.
If you’re only moderately squirting (not more than an ounce or two fluid, like I normally do), then this is not necessary. The Solina Blanket will hold that.
Recap & Rating – Best Sex Blanket for ur Buck
The Solina Sex blanket is energy saving. It’s a smooth velvety surface, that repels water but also repels lubes and period blood. 10/10 useful.
As a utiliarian (function over form!) sex toy enthusiast, this is very much a crucial tool in my arsenal. I like that the fabric won’t ball up and get knotty like waterproof dog blankets too, and it does look nicer spread out over my bed.
I NEED one of these, and I am so glad I have it.

Hi, I just starting a woodworking shop that makes adjustable mounts for Magic Wands and dildos that you can use in the bedroom. Would you mind checking out my website and giving feedback on the products and marketing?
Thanks

I was considering buying The Layer blanket based on your review. It still shows up in search on your site but the article itself won’t open for me anymore. How would you compare the Solina to The Layer? I think I remember in that review you liked The Layer a lot more than Liberator. And it sounds like the Solina is similar to the Liberator but cheaper. So do you still like Layer more?
Thank you!
Is there a soft layer on the underside as well? (bit more discrete instead of a plastic like layer)
It’s all a silky kinda material, feels the same on both sides. Not fluffy / furry.
