PalmPower Groove Vibrator Review

Oooh, a clit-rubbing mini vibe! The PalmPower Groove’s stimulation head is fantastic if you (like me!) enjoy rubbing or grinding against a vibrator โ€” not just holding it steady against the clitoris.

This PalmPower vibrator has two different sides: a clit-surrounding channel, plus ribs all over the stimulation head.

And it rumbles, with deep vibration in 4 steady speeds (plus 3 patterns). I’d compare the PalmPower Groove’s strength to the We-Vibe Tango X โ€” a classic, fan-fave bullet vibrator โ€” except not hard & pointy. More on my PalmPower Groove experience, after this BMS Factory vibrator’s pros & cons:

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Fantastic power for the price ($36.99).
  • Rumbly vibration in all 7 vibration functions.
  • Two-sided head is great if you like rubbing against texture clitorally.
  • Splashproof.
  • Body-safe silicone washes easily.
  • Easier to hold than a bullet vibrator: the handle gives you more to grip.

Cons

  • Not as powerful as a large wand vibrator.
  • Not for folks who prefer *focused* clitoral stimulation.
  • Battery life could be longer.

The name “Groove” is so true: referring to both the PalmPower Groove’s ribbed texture, and to how it practically dances ๐Ÿ’ƒ by itself as its vibration rumbles away:

The Dual-sided Head

I’m jazzed above the Groove’s design, because I like rubbing my vulva against ripples and waves, but deeply dislike pointy spikes. And focused nubs ๐Ÿ˜ฑ: prickly-ness makes my clit want to run away. These two textures, in contrast, are smooth lines!

So, the Groove vibrator’s oval tunnel will cover the clitoris, so you can put pressure on the clit’s right and left sides. People whose clits do get visibly erect & peek out from under their hoods will probably get more “full channel coverage,” whereas my hooded clit feels a light touch directly on top, then pressure on the right and left. Then, when I’m rubbing the Groove up and down, I get pressure under my clit, which is the best.

The flexible neck is actually a helpful feature in this mini wand, since it lets the Groove’s open channel bend and keep better coverage.

PalmPower Groove neck flexibility

The backside is full-on textured lines, and thus full contact. I assumed this would be my favorite side to grind on โ€” but it turns out I like both sides, I like to alternate while playing with the PalmPower Groove!

The channel gives pressure on both sides of my clit, and then I can flip it over for faster rubbing from the lines. (Use some good lubricant if you get to jerking your vibrators against yourself speedily like I do!)

PalmPower Groove with G squeeze vagina plug

My favorite thing is to pair the P.P. Groove with a vaginal toy: Both the G squeeze squeezable silicone V-plug (medium size, pictured above) and the Stronic Petite pulsing dildo have been the best experiences for me in tandem with the Groove mini vibrator.

Vibration Functions & Strength

The PalmPower Groove is moderately strong, and super-rumbly. It’s a great amount of power for under $40 โ€” as long as you’re not expecting Magic Wand strength.

I’d rate its vibrations, from low speed to high speed, as:

  • From 2.0 to 6.75 (out of 10) for strength.
  • From 10 to 8.5 (out of 10) for “rumblyness,” or how deep the vibration feels. This matters to folks who find “buzzy” high-pitched vibration irritating.

Overall, it’s comparable to the We-Vibe Touch X and Tango X (We-Vibe’s smallest vibrators), meaning that the PalmPower Groove’s motor feels luxury-level, for a lower price. My personal favorite Groove setting is function #3.

PalmPower Groove vibration strength - vs. We-Vibe Tango X, PalmPower Recharge, Viben Sultry, Magic Wand Plus

Groove Vs. PalmPower Recharge

The bigger it gets, the stronger it is (and the more it costs). This is typical with vibrators,

PalmPower line is no exception:

  • PalmPower Groove ($36.99) is the smallest rechargeable model, and decently strong, 6.75/10 top power;
  • PalmPower Recharge ($74.88) is the best medium-size wand I’ve ever owned, seriously strong for its size, 8.8/10 top power;
  • PalmPower Extreme ($105.00) is robust, almost growling on the upper vibration speeds; its angled head is smartly shaped for easier access (sits against my clit perfectly while I’m sitting down in a chair), 9.8/10 top power.

Care & Cleaning / Other Details

The PalmPower Groove is made of body-safe silicone, with a nonporous ABS plastic connector between head+neck and handle.

It is water-resistant, but not rated IPX7-8 (submersible). You can use it in the shower or wash it in the sink, but probably don’t use it in the bathtub. When I’m washing, the PalmPower Groove’s, well, grooves make me spend about 30 seconds longer than on a smooth-headed wand vibe, making sure no lube’s hanging on.

It’s rechargeable with a plug-in prong charger; a labeled cord. The Groove promises up to 1.5 hours run time per charge; I find it lasts a little over an hour (since I use it on the 3rd and 4th intensity levels mostly).

Recap & Rating

PalmPower Groove is one of those (rare) toys where I’m like, “Hot damn I wish I’d had this as a first vibrator, it would’ve been sooooo much better than the cheap crap I paid almost this much for! (Years ago!)”

BMS Factory is my absolute favorite vibrator company if I *had* to choose just one, and I’m glad they’re expanding the PalmPower line. These wand vibrators have long been critical favorites, because they got damn good motors. I’d really love to see BMS put this dual-textured head onto the PalmPower Recharge too, for even more stimulation. The Groove for me is a toy to use in conjunction with other kinds of motion, to enjoy all its ripples + rumbles.

  1. How would you say this toy compares to the Pillow Talk Sassy? I already have one of those but have been thinking about maybe getting a wand vibrator. ๐Ÿค”

I got the Sassy per your recommendation and have loved used it, though sometimes I feel like I could use a bit more oomph (only occasionally). I use it both externally and internally.

I was also wondering if you have ever tried or would consider reviewing the Evolved Novelties – Rainbow Sucker. I checked out the floor model in a sex toy shop and thought it was really intriguing, intended as both an air-pulse/sucker toy and a mini wand vibrator. The suction was really strong, it stuck to my hand when I let go of the toy.

I really appreciate all of the information you offer on your site and frequently recommend people check it out when they’re looking into buying new toys. โค๏ธ

    • Hi, thank you so much for the comment!!!

I’d say the P.P. Groove is probably not the right pick if you’re looking for more power than the Pillow Talk Sassy. It’s somewhat weaker, and it doesn’t have the full range. (7 preset speeds, no incremental speed control.) PalmPower Recharge would make more sense, since it’s stronger than the Groove, has a bit more kick than Sassy; (PalmPower Recharge does have a G-spot attachment sold separately, for some reason I’ve never tried that; if you’re looking for dual-purpose).

In general I think that Evolved is good at sourcing strong motors and is making some cool products, and I’m not surprised the Rainbow Sucker feels powerful. (I know some people have reacted to my Maia Destiny review with “wow that’s too strong, it like leaves a hickey!” — which it does on the hand, but the suction feels less potent on the vulva and doesn’t mark or discolor, so. I get why air pulsation is more popular overall), but I’m open to exploring the Rainbow Sucker. Really, I guess I just wish it came in a color other than black, which is my pet-peeve color, personally, because pure black toys show soooo darn many water spots — like I hate how my Womanizer Duo looks after a couple years.

OK, that complaint made ๐Ÿ˜, I do think the Sucker is worth checking out!!
