Most Realistic Dildo: 235 Safe, Lifelike Dildos Tested

I was destined to write a most realistic dildo guide.⚖️🍆 Over 10 years (and 235+ realistic dildos tested) ago, my sex toy journey started as a simple quest: find a dildo that actually feels real.

After too many disappointing “realistic” buys, I learned what makes the difference: platinum silicone (especially dual-density). The early “real feel” toys I tried had weird textures, funky smells (like the chlorine that unsafe PVC dildos leach), and materials I couldn’t verify — I had to learn more about sex toy safety. 🛑🚩

So I went all-in: I tested dildos from $23.99 to $600.00, kept notes, and revisited favorites over time to see what holds up. Every top pick in this guide is platinum-silicone (what counts as body-safe silicone). Below are the realistic dildos that performed best for skin-feel, firmness balance, and shape — with quick “who it’s for” recommendations to match your body + goals.

Why You Can Trust This Guide (How I Test + What I Reject)

Body-safe only. I’ve reviewed sex toys for 10+ years and personally tested 235+ realistic dildos (and 600+ dildos overall) — with real use, not just unboxing photos.

My baseline rule: I recommend platinum silicone and avoid materials that can degrade or be misrepresented (like PVC and many “real-feel” TPE/TPR blends). I also come back to see how my top-tested toys continue to rank against similar products, long-term. If something starts degrading or disappointing long-term, it gets removed — even if it’s expensive or heavily marketed.

Affiliate links help fund independent testing across my site (1,300+ vibrators, 600+ dildos, 150+ butt plugs, etc.). My reviews focus on ergonomics, ease of cleaning, and—most importantly—sensation compared to similar toys, so you can pick what actually fits your body and goals.

Best Lifelike Dildos Recap, #1 to #10

Most convincing realistic dildo in 2025? Hint: It is sooo not the RealCock 2, marketed as “the world’s most realistic dildo” — but for me, the RealCock turned out to be a nightmare. (See how it developed boils and degraded, below.) In sharp contrast, my top 10 are definitely body-safe silicone:

  1. Solina Mega XL (or Mega XXL if you like big dongs), 4.8 of 5 ⭐s realism. Best realistic, body-safe skin feeling. Most hyper-realistic dildo inside: for my vagina, the Mega is the most realistic dildo ever made.
  2. Solina Maxima. G-spot excellence. Most realistic Black dildo option, too (Choose between 3 skin-tone colors). 4.6 of 5 ⭐s realism.
  3. Most realistic dildos for anal: Mr. Hankey’s many realistic dildos stand out for anal excellence – they’re mainly big sizes, and you can order ’em all in the softest silicone for stroking comfort. (40% Soft option.)
  4. Small: Neo Elite 6″ Tapered. Affordable trainer toy: for beginning anal play or new vaginal penetration. 3.2 of 5 ⭐s realism, but very functional for size training.
  5. Solina Prima. Best medium-size lifelike dildo! Matches average penis size exactly; so comfortable, also exceptional skin-like feel (like the Solina Megas!). 4.3 of 5 ⭐s realism.
  6. Best XXL suction cup dildo: Solina Maxima XXL. My best-ever thiccc G-spot dildo. Works great suction-cupped. Mind-blowing shape. 4.8 of 5 ⭐s realism.
  7. Neo Elite 7.5″, a longer anal dildo. Easy taper. More affordable! 4.0 of 5 ⭐s realism.
  8. Realistic dildo + clitoral rubbing grinder: Solina Balla. For clit-rubbing as you ride on top, reverse cowgirl. Fun! 4.6 of 5 ⭐s realism.
  9. Vixskin Mustang. The O.G. ultra-realistic silicone dildo (ca. 2007), for G-spot or prostate. Squishy head. Slides great anally, after lube; recommend as a strap-on dildo for beginners. (See pegging tips for beginners!) Stickier than other realistic toys here. 4.0 of 5 ⭐s realism.
  10. Uberrime Maxime. Artisan & handmade in the U.S. Choose your own colors for $12 per extra color. 4.0 of 5 ⭐s realism.

9/10 above are the most realistic dildo material that’s safe & hygienic: dual-density silicone explained. This 2-layer union creates soft skin + erect feel. These special dildos mirror authentic erections better vaginally, and are body-safe! (In contrast, TPE “real feel” dildos crack, degrade, and grow mold!) Be cautious about where you buy realistic dildos, too, since often Amazon sellers will not list what their dildo is made of correctly! All the non-toxic silicone toys here are also harness compatible.

Who Is the Most Realistic Dildo Best For?

Skimming? Here’s the fastest way to choose the right most realistic dildo based on your body + goals.

#1 Realistic: Solina Mega Dildo, Ultra-real feel (XL)

My Fave Life-like Dildo Ever. A+ Balance. Ultra-Real Colors.
Read my full Solina Mega review (3 sizes)
Shop: $39.99 to $69.00 Here (3 total sizes)

This is my confession🙏😄: I have stopped using all other realistic dildos, the larger Solina Mega ultra-realistic dildos are just superior!1 Still can’t believe it: Nothing compares to how smoothly skin-like they feel — the most realistic skin dildo, they are. The Mega dildos’ silicone is so lifelike balanced, with just the right amount of skin texture.

The Mega dildos are killin’ it, basically. And we’ve got 3 sizes to choose from:

  • The XL size is the best if you enjoy kinda-girthy erections.
  • But if you’re a thicccc dong fan like me, then the Mega XXL *will* be your very favorite dildo: at 2-inch diameter by 8.25 inches, this extra-large lifelike dildo exceeds 99.99% of human erections: it’s one-in-a-million, and so stably erect.
  • The Solina Mega “large” is the normally girthy one, 1.5″ diameter. This dildo feels so real inside except it’s a lil more flexible than the XL and XXL Mega toys–which are maximum erection imitation, all in platinum silicone. 🎉

These best real feeling dildos have durable, cured silicone highlights that don’t degrade. The only thing you might be missing here: balls to complete the dildo’s package, and a G-spot curve. For those much-sought-after qualities in a great realistic dildo, see our next contender💪:

#2. Best Realistic G-spot Dildo, Solina Maxima

World-class realistic G-spot dildo.
See my detailed Solina Maxima review
Shop: $59.99 Here (1 size, 3 color options)

Awwww, the Solina Maxima’s broad, jutting head + arching curve: this is what a G-spot dildo should be, when you prize the most realistic sex toys like I do. 🏆 With Maxima, I can either: 1.) thrust it deep into myself, then pull back for repeat massage (G-spot stimulation tips) ; or 2.) lay back and love being pummeled by it for an hour, 🤤 See the sex machine setup guide for saving your wrist!!!

Solina Maxima ultra realistic dildo
Solina Maxima iultra-realistic dildo — curved shape for stronger G-spot targeting.

Remember to use a bit of silicone-safe water-based lube for comfort as you go wild with enjoying the Maxima dildo. Its soft silicone balls are easy to grip, and the 2 new colors are just gorgeous:

✌️Tip: For the most intense (if you have a clitoris!), try a Solina paired with my favorite clit-suction toys – that’s over-the-moon💫 blended orgasms.

#2A, BIGGGGGER Lifelike suction cup dildo: Maxima XXL.

Oooooh! A larger Maxima (XXL) is out now, and wow. Wow. Wow. If you enjoy BIG dicks, this silicone replica is mind-blowing. 🤯 **It’s my favorite ever large dildo**, 2 inches wide × over 7.5 inches insertable. Its length is wonderful for the best suction-cup mounting ideas, plus its big upward curve is G-spot / P-spot fullness:

#3. Best Beginner Dildo that feels real *enough*

Compact beginner dildo, dual-density silicone!
Neo Elite review + size notes
Shop: $23.99 Here (2 non-realistic colors)

First, be sure you’re buying Neo Elite (silicone), not just a plain “Neo” dildo also by Blush, since just-Neo is a cheaper material that degrades & holds bacteria.

Neo Elite 6 first anal dildo size vs. fingers
Neo Elite 6″ tapered — beginner-friendly size (shown vs fingers) for anal training or easy insertion.

The Neo Elite 6″ smol is my best real feel dildo for anal training. If you don’t use anal sex toys for a while, then you have to re-train—to avoid injury. This petite dildo’s benefits? It’s small & tapered, its silicone is smooth, and it’s soft outside yet firm inside so it doesn’t fold over on itself. I only need about 15 minutes (and plenty of the best anal lube picks) to get back up to “almost intermediate” size – as in my anal training guide.

#4. Most Lifelike Dildo in Average Penis Size, Solina Prima

Peak comfort, cozy size for 90% of buyers.
Read my Solina Prima comfort review
Shop: $49.99 Here (1 size, 3 color options)

Yaaaasss🥳 to the fabulous skin textures here again, in Solina Prima. The silicone just feels amazing vaginally, like the closest thing to skin. The Prima is sized to equal average penis size: it’s made for the 80–85% of women who do not need either a very large, or very narrow, dildo. That’s my Prima experience – real-world comfort.

Solina silicone dildos long rec. 4
Solina Prima realistic dildo — average-penis sizing (shown in hand) for comfort-focused realism.

The Prima – one of the best dildos with balls (real-feel picks) – scrotum is flat–so it adds a nice, soft smack against the clitoris when it’s facing “upward” (toward the bellybutton). Overall, this is a wonderful silicone formula that’s no stress to insert, and great to thrust—either fast or slow, it’s comfortable.

#5. VixSkin Mustang Classic Dildo

O.G. realistic dildo; optimal for anal.
VixSkin Mustang comparison review
Shop: $136.00 – $142.00 Here (1 size, 5 color options)

VixSkin was the first dual-density silicone dildo formula, ever. Vixen Creations released the VixSkin Mustang dildo around 2006, in “a perfected formula” according to Vixen. No doubt, it was revolutionary for its time:

But is Mustang still the best realistic dildo? I mean… if you don’t mind your silicone being sticky to the touch, and having a gummy head. VixSkin dildos’ silicone feels more realistic when it’s amply lubricated.

VixSkin Mustang and Vixskin Johnny dual density silicone dildos
VixSkin Mustang above VixSkin Johnny dildo.

We find it still really nice for comfortable pegging (where a woman (=me) wears a harness and anally penetrates her male partner). The Mustang’s squashy head means I can pound hard, no worries; and Mustang not having balls makes it an easy fit for all harnesses.

This is because I gave up on using Mustang for G-spot, since its super-duper soft (00-30 Shore softness scale explained) head makes it feel semi-flaccid all the time – Read the Solina Spotta review in re balancing comfort and impact.

#6. Uberrime – Best Artisan Realistic Dildos, Vibrant Colors

Handmade, custom-color realistic dildo.
Shop: $115.00 Here (+$12 per extra color)

Uberrime makes beautiful marbled fantasy dildos, but is also the only U.S. dildo-maker besides Vixen to consistently produce dual-density silicone dildos – they’re working hard at realistic feel dildos, hand-crafted.

Uberrime dual-density realistic dildos vs. hand

The “Maxime” is my favorite of Uberrime’s lifelike dildo sculpts. It’s the most G-spot massaging, with a lightly uncircumcised look: uncut dildo guide (foreskin textures). (Or, see *all* Uberrime dual realistic sex toys, here.) Mine is great in brown (“Tone 1″⬆️), but look how pretty their multi-color blends can be:

RealCock 2: World’s MOST Realistic Dildo? Nope, unsafe.

It was a hyper-realistic dildo…. until it wasn’t, 18 months later. And when a dildo costs $600, you expect it to last longer, right??? Look at the swollen bits on the RealCock 2’s balls:

RealCock 2 not nonporous
RealCock 2 “floating testicles” degradation — swelling/boils after extended ownership (why it’s not recommended).

And that’s not a freak “one-off”: other customers have also had a RealCock 2 dildo degrade on them. It really makes me wonder what else they’re putting in the “floating testicles” and the “silicone” for this penis replica toy by Abyss Creations.

In the end: If you’re able to spend $500+ for a realistic dildo experience, I strongly recommend the best sex machines for thrusting power, with stainless steel suction cup attachment; then mount a Solina ultra-realistic dildo on it, and have fun!🎆 That set-up will not end up feeling like a rip-off like the “RealCock 2” does when it first takes months to arrive, and then its balls get disgusting & cannot be cleaned.

Rating Scale for Most Realistic Dildos: Skin-Feel+

Remember to choose your size carefully when it comes to buying a realistic dildo. Stats: the median penis is very close to 1.5-inch diameter (4.625 inches circumference), and median length is 5.44 inches – but on a dildo, extra length can be helpful, serving as a handle. Many dildos are sized BIG. This table lists my 3 criteria for rating the world’s most realistic dildos:

Other realistic dildos I’ve tested and found not-as-great vaginally are: Hismith duals are smooth for anal & kinda sticky; FemmeFunn Shaft (weird coloring, bleeds); King Cock Elite (slightly firm, weird logo stamped in dildo shaft looks less realistic); Colours Pleasures Vibrating (too hard, mediocre vibration); Neo Elite Glow (feels more plasticky than normal Neo Elite); Lovehoney Lifelike Lover silicone (waaaay too hard, not lifelike); and a load of rando. dildos out of China seeing if there was a metaphorical needle in a haystack (in an eggplant pile?!?) – nothin’ yet.

As always, I’m a stickler for safety! Silicone lifelike dildos, like other quality silicones, “have good UV resistance, excellent thermal and chemical resistance.” This means they don’t degrade so easily, they can stand the test of time and last over 45 years! Plus they’re easy to keep clean:

How to Clean a Realistic Dildo?

Cleaning a body-safe silicone realistic dildo is simple: You only need soap and water. Any household soap or detergent will do! Soap surrounds bacteria & microorganisms by forming micelles, as you scrub the toy down with soap—then wash away the germs with running water.

Washing with soap (all soaps are anti-bacterial) will clean your lifelike silicone dildo awesomely. You never need “toy cleaners,” which contain extra chemicals you then have to scrub off—really unnecessary. If you’ve used a realistic dildo for anal sex, then want to use it vaginally later, you can learn how to sanitize body-safe toys to be extra-safe.

Tragically, TPE/TPR (softened thermoplastics) toys called “real feel” don’t have longevity and durability like silicone does. This is why silicone is used in biomedical implants, whereas – in sharp contrast – TPE and PVC dildos break down, developing cracks and leaching.

FAQs, Most Realistic Dildos

What makes a dildo feel the most realistic?

Realistic feel depends on three things: skin texture, firmness balance, and anatomical shape.

Meaning: a dildo has to be shaped like a penis, be skin-soft (yet erect) like a penis, and mirror the pores & veins of a natural penis.

What material feels most like a real penis?

Soft silicone is essential for realistic feel in a dildo.

You can choose between dual-density silicone (meaning: soft silicone outside + firm silicone inside), preferred for vaginal and G-spot stimulation; and 100% super-soft silicone, preferred for anal sex realism.

Is dual-density silicone more realistic than TPE?

Dual-layer silicone feels so much nicer than TPE.

Silicone isn’t greasy, TPE is. Silicone remains consistent over the years; TPE gets oily and will develop cracks and tears as you use it. On a microscopic level, cured silicone repels water and bacteria, while softened TPE is porous and allows bacteria to live in the material longer.

Why do some “real feel” dildos smell or degrade?

Dildos that degrade are not body-safe dildos. Silicone is the only soft sex toy material that remains stable for long-term usage, as it’s biocompatible and non-allergenic.

What size dildo feels most realistic for most people?

For most people, the most realistic dildo size closely matches median penis dimensions, at 1.5″ diameter × 5.5″ insertable length.

For women and people with vaginas, girth is often the most important factor: Go with 1.5″ diameter for comfort, 1.65–1.75″ diameter for a slight stretch, 2″ diameter for XL girth, or 2.2″+ diameter for real size queens!

What is the safest realistic dildo material?

Platinum silicone is no question the best safe material for realistic dildos. Silicone’s cross-linked structure is antimicrobial by nature, repelling bacteria, fungi, yeast and more. It resists degradation and is highly biocompatible + functionally nonporous.

Make Your Dildo Feel More Lifelike, How-to Tips

Once you have the best realistic dildo for you:

  1. 🔥Add Warmth. Does a cold dildo feel weird to you? Silicone remains room temperature, while your body heat is warmer. To close this gap, just warm your dildo up to make it more lifelike:
    • Warm by running under warm water (safest), to avoid overheating & irritating your skin. Since silicone dildos that feel real can withstand a wide temperature range (-45°C to 200°C = from -49°F to 392°F), the temperature your sensitive skin can stand is the limiting factor!
    • You *can* boil a silicone dildo, for 3–5 minutes, but be very very sure it is not too hot🌡️ prior to putting it in your body.
  2. 💦Add Glide. Use my body-safe lubricant guide. Silicone needs a lil extra slickness, no matter how real-feeling the dildo’s skin texture is. A few drops of good water-based or hybrid lubricant (top vaginal lube picks) will make your realistic dildo play much better.
  3. 🔝Ride On It. Being in control of penetration helps the real feel too. Riding on top (=cowgirl) for vagina-havers is often the best position. Though I love “jerking in” a dildo, riding is the best sex-workout, phew!!! My top choice for realistic dildo feel cowgirl is the easiest suction-cup riding setup (BodyDock + pillows). It’s the best way to re-create missionary style sex with a dildo.
Mega dildo how to position hands free, Lap Strap & pillows
Hands-free riding setup example — Lap Strap + pillows for suction-cup dildo positioning.

Other helpful tools for realistic penetration play:

  1. A good fucking machine (sex machine buying guide) will give you hands-free, lazy “lay back ‘n’ enjoy!” times. Hismith Premium remains the best machine to mount your best realistic dildo on, via choosing their stainless steel suction cup attachment.
  2. 💧Drip much? I’m saving tons of time washing sheets: my waterproof sex blanket review. (Just awesome if you wanna know how to squirt + toy tips during sex, but even if not, it stops stains from hybrid lubricant, period blood and other vaginal (or anal!) discharge). Srsly, after I’ve been rocked by the machine & my favorite likelike dong, I do *not* have the energy to spot-clean, so this is a life-saver.

Best Realistic Anal Sex Dildos

This guide to the most real feeling dildos has focused on vaginal toys first, for lifelike G-spot sex toys and more. But what about anal? I’ve read hundreds of anal-first reviews over the years, and have learned that in general:

100% super-soft silicone dildos are most popular for anal, after VixSkin.2 Two U.S. makers make fantastic platinum silicone realistic dildos:

Best realistic dildo for anal sex Hankey's Nick Capra dildo super soft silicone
Whoa! An expansive stretching toy from Mr. Hankey’s (Nick Capra life-cast porn star dildo!).
  1. Mr. Hankey’s Toys makes “lifecast” dildos from porn-star & performers’ penises (I’ve reviewed a smaller one & a thick one!), plus realistic “not based on an actual person” dildos like the brilliant “Perfect Penis” dildo (see all its sizes!). These natural dildos all have great texture outside, and can get monster-sized. For medium size & up: Choose Hankey’s “40% Soft” silicone for most “fleshy” feeling silicone.
  2. SquarePegToys realistic lifecasts: The first maker of SuperSoft silicone dildos, ever (a year before Bad Dragon!), for “anal fetish” play: that means, big male anal dildos. SquarePeg’s Leo has traditionally been the most popular (it’s very long!). Today, the Steve realistic dildo also stands out for gentle prostate play, while the Wyatt realistic dildo is a smoothed-out, so-soft pounder.

NOTE

  1. I mean, I do still test other realistics, 3–5 times per dildo, to see how they compare. But after that, I’m back to the Solinas for my personal fun. ↩︎
  2. Soft dildos are also the top choice for large anal “fantasy” dildos: see Bad Dragon, that’s all super-soft silicone. ↩︎

  1. Being the owner of a micro penis with ed issues I wanted to give my wife a “big cock” exerience so I purchased the Real Feel Dirk dildo and Doc Johnson Vacu- lock harness. All I can say is she has become addicted to this!! Her o’s are off the chart and she loves it’s lifelike looks and how I roleplay a guy with a big cock fucking her. Sooooo…. fun!!😉

    • Hello, Rob. My husband also has almost a micro penis. How’s your experience overall? My therapists thinks my husband wants to see me with other men to masturbate watching… but I’d rather having realistic dildos before considering other men in our bed to satisfy his needs. Is that something that you thought about it? Or the dildo was the solution?

  2. Your reviews are bad ass. You explain the drag on Mr hankeys dildos so acutely those types of things are so important people just rave on how things are great. But its those extra things in your feedback are fantastic. I’m tossing between getting a realcock2 but not sure also your the only person who mentions how it droops in a harness. Well said those little things make a big different and should be stated. I’ve seen shorten vac u locks for this maybe that would suit better to avoid that i dont know anyways cheers awesome feedback. Keep it real

    • Thank you so much!

So the Vac harness I own is a brief style, and therefore it’s not the most secure with a heavier dildo. Someone using a leather harness w/ Vac plug meant for big toys, like the Mr. S Leather Dildo Harness that Mr. S and Mr. Hankey’s Toys sell, may have a better experience.

In any case, the RealCock2s all have very substantially sized bases: they are not easy toys to jerk inside oneself by hand!

    • I ordered the Realcock2 / JAMES for extra girth but I’m having doubts now and cancelled the order, although it takes 45x days for a refund so apparently I’m still in the cue if I want to reinstate the order I won’t lose my place in the cue ..
I should have had this around now 4/6weeks delivery but they end telling me it’s going to be February 2024 because of lead build times are longer now..

  3. Felicity, your reviews are *so* helpful, I feel like I’m holding each of these models in a shop or giving them a spin myself! Question: my partner loves the feel of anal with a human cock, but hasn’t found a dildo that works for their butt. We’ve explored the RealCock as a (pricey) option, but is there one you’d recommend that has the give on the outside with right rigidness for anal? Looking at the Leo from Squarepeg…thank you so much!!

    Reply
    • Thank you so much!!!
Definitely would not recommend RealCock. Apparently now the wait time is up to 8+ months and they don’t respond to customers, plus mine totally degraded, like a TPE dildo would.

So, 100% super-soft silicone first became popular for anal use specifically, not for vaginal. That was SquarePeg’s SuperSoft first, followed by Bad Dragon in the ’00s, and then a ton of other fantasy cos. who use Smooth-On Ecoflex plus Mr. Hankey’s Toys in the ’10s. With any real super-soft silicone, it feels great for anal *BUT* you have to be adequately warmed up / relaxed to take the size toy you’re trying to use (i.e., it’s tougher to get super-soft inside because it can fold over; so insertion should be approached slowly if one is sizing up).

With SquarePeg dildos, definitely try either Leo (for length + overall skin feel) or Steve (more prostate stimulation) or Wyatt (which is kinda midway between Leo and Steve, except a bit smoother than Leo). Even if not as erect as a real penis, the material is awesome.

For most realistic in terms of firmness, I do have a new top pick, but the toy is in production and there are only a few copies in North America; I am veryyyyy excited about updating this guide around June 2024 with that dildo because I love it to death, and the coloring is fairly realistic (not just a flat one-color) while the firmness balance is just spot-on for me.

Thank you a ton for reading.

      • Hey Felicity, I have a Fiancé and i’ve tried the naked dildo line and she didn’t like it she said it was too “hard” and no drag. we tried plenty on dildos and I was goin to try the Realcock2 dirk. I think thats the one shes most interested in but the wait times are gonna be long so what would u recommend in the mean time that is comparable to the Realcock2 dirk, in terms of realism and drag and softness with some firmness. She’s pretty sensitive in the vaginal area.

      • Felicity, Just reading these comments and wondering about the June update for this guide. I would love to find the perfect realistic dildo for me. I definitely want a firmness close to a real penis but would sacrifice a little firmness for the perfect skin texture. I do love deep penetration so maybe a softer one would bend better? some firmer ones ive used I can’t get all the way in because of the bend in my rectum. As far as girth goes 1.5″ to 1.6″ definitely seems perfect but maybe a softer one would allow me to go slightly bigger?? suction cup is a must as I love to ride hands free

        • Yeah… the listing is up now, apparently the inventory is stuck in transit or customs, it’s apparently slated for early July landing, but this Solina “large” is 100% hands-down the most realistic average-size dildo I’ve ever felt, silicone of course — tremendously looking forward to updating!!!

    • They’re just run-of-the-mill Chinese whitelabel toys, looking at how shiny the silicone is in all their images, and how overdone the pigmentation is. I’ve gotten half a dozen similar products. They’re extremely slick, which feels less skin-like but some people will like it for anal use specifically. The silicone feels cheap, and may/may not be platinum-cured; which isn’t necessarily going to be harmful to the end user (the consumer), but peroxide curing creates more volatile byproducts.

    • The amount of friction any type of play will produce is even more important when choosing a lubricant, vs. the material: though you typically want to avoid silicone lubricant with most silicone toys.

Water-based lubricants are compatible with all sex toy materials, but truly a dumpster fire in terms of safety with human mucous membranes (like the vaginal lining, and inside the rectum) because of all the processed preservatives required for them to not mold on shelf, emulsifiers that can interfere with the vag. microbiome, and hyperosmolal thickeners that make most of them feel moisturizing upon application but mess with the epithelial barrier as the lube soaks in, even destroying cells. My full piece on lubricant safety / dangerous lubricants here. This is what I do use currently:

Clit stimulation toys, like air pulse:: Sliquid H20.
G-spot vibrators & rabbit vibrators: Sliquid H20 usually by itself, but will add a few drops of Sliquid Silk hybrid if I’m drier or I just feel I need more padding any given day.
Thrusting with realistic dildos / faster motion on a fuck machine: Sliquid H2O + Sliquid Silk. The minimal silicone content of the Silk hybrid reduces friction more.
For penis-in-vagina sex: Pure silicone lubricant.
Anal plugs: Extra virgin coconut oil.

  4. Hi, I am a lesbian looking to purchase a long-lasting, real feel, skin like dildo that is vac-u-lock compatible. The safe skin like dildos are usually always suction cups and i’ve always had bad experiences with suction cups because it makes it hard to switch positions without the dildo falling off the harness. Please let me know what you would recommend.

    • Hi, thank u for reading!!!
I wonder if you all are into thick dildos? If not, that rules out most of the Vac-U options, since the silicone toys with hole option (like by Hankey’s Toys) tend to run 1.8 to 2″ diameter in order to accommodate the Vac peg’s size and not tear the silicone. I believe the small “Perfect Penis” dildo by Hankey’s is the slimmest, but IMO single density silicone (like all Vac-compatible silicone dildos are) also feels considerably less lifelike vs. a dual-layer silicone dildo that’s done well.

For an average size dildo that is definitely real feel but 100% non-toxic (even after months, won’t hang onto bacteria!!!) I cannot recommend the Solina “large” realistic dildoenough: it’s actually a very average diameter, from 1.4 to 1.5 inches, but has 6.75″ length. It feels 10 times better, and looks more real, than the Neo Elites. Yes, this is a normal suction cup dildo, but try it with a Body Dock harness. I was so skeptical about how good the suction-cup “stickage” would be with this setup before I got one, but it is amazing. Really strong hold after you press the dildo down.

  5. Just as an added comment about Real Doll, yes definitely expensive and definitely long lead times. Don’t believe their website about the turnaround times. I made an order October of 23… still don’t have it. It appears that I “might” get it in another three months putting it nearly 14 months….if I get it. I’d question spending the money since they definitely have production problems. If I ever get it. I do a review!

  7. Very informative review.

I’m having some trouble understanding what you mean by a “drag” of a dildo. It seems drag varies for each individual.

    My question:

What is drag of a dildo?

Does a real cis male penis drag or do not drag?

    Bonus question

How do you prewarm your silicone dildos? I would like to keep it warm for my partner prior to use. I’m thinking of buying a digital water bath.

    Thanks for reading.

    • Hi! Drag is a word that indicates friction / extra pull, anything that is not smooth glide.
Drag can be decreased either when a person’s vag is wet naturally or with a decent lubricant.
All dildos that have more texture have more drag, though the particular surface finish of a silicone dildo also affects how draggy it feels.

Real penises drag more either (1) when the vag being penetrated is dry / unlubricated, mainly; and (2) if the penis is larger, then that can also feel more abrasive, depending on several factors too: preference and experience level. But generally, human skin has less drag than even smooth silicone.

I personally don’t feel any need to prewarm, as the toy will heat to match my body temp very quickly amidst thrusting, or after a few minutes if left stationary; that’s so fast that it’s just a hassle to heat the dildo up for me, but it could be your partner has a different opinion there.

      Thank you for reading too!

  8. I have read many reviews from many reviewers, but following Felicity for I think close to 3 1/2 years, her reviews are the best – full stop. I appreciate the the questions about drag and and how to warm dildos. Those are very good questions, especially when a picky vag (as Felicity would say) is involved, and I have learned that every woman must be different. Felicity’s reviews help tease out the mystery. Being male, I had the most difficulty getting the “drag” correct, which is affected by girth, firmness, and manufacturer. I have purchased Hankey, Square Peg, Uberimme, Realcock, Njoy, John Thomas and others of different shapes and sizes. Some that I thought would be great turned out to be a flop. Some were good one day but not so good on another day, which made it even more difficult. My lady (for the past 35 years) does not like cold at all so I use a heating pad (sometimes warm water in a extra large cup) to warm both the toys and lube. Back to the drag conundrum, which until recently, continued to be a little frustrating. To solve the issue I would read Felicity’s reviews, choose and purchase a toy, observe, observe, observe and get feedback, reread Felicity’s review to put meaning and context to her words, rinse and repeat. Finally, when I read Felicity’s review on Solina Mega toys, I knew instantly this was a winner and I bought all three. They are great and turns out the Solina XL Mega was a grand slam having the perfect feel, texture, girth and drag for a go to toy. I would never buy a toy with out checking with Felicity – Thank you Felicity!

    • You know, I’m not really a cute & sexy harness person, I like plain styles, but reading other folks’ reviews I’ve come away with the general impression that RodeoH makes very good harnesses: see their panty harness here, for one.

For dildos, if you’re looking for a rec there, the Solina Mega XXL is awesome & my personal favorite dildo. It’s very big for most people since it’s like 1 in a million size vs. human erections, but size queens will find it “not that wide.”

      Hope this helps!!!

  10. I remember reading a post you wrote about the Amante triple density dildo. How does that compare to a Solina? I’m getting a complimentary Solina (large) but I’m wondering if it’d be worth forking out for an Amante since they’re similar sizes and seem to occupy a similar niche.

    Reply
    • Amante is substantially bigger than the Solina Mega Large. It’s more like the Mega Extra-Large.

The outer layer of silicone in Amante is a bit firmer.

Try out the Mega Large or XL depending on your size preferences (Mega large is median penis girth, XL is thick), and then see if the Amante still interests you. Its silicone does feel different, but in a way that’s similar enough that it really depends on how much sensation one is able to feel vaginally.

  12. Hi Felicity – new to lifelike dildos. Your reviews are great. Interested in getting one for my wife (fantasy of both of ours to introduce a new cock to the mix). I’m trying to find one that I can be sure is manufactured in the U.S. 8”+ and 2” diameter with balls would be ideal. any tips? Thanks! Steve

    Reply
    • Skip down to the super-soft section for the U.S. made options. No one makes ultra-realistic silicone dual-layer dildos with balls here because generally, people won’t/can’t pay for a $200-300 dildo. (And I’m alleging that the $600-$700 RealCocks are, besides being awkward to handle, not fully silicone.) See Mel actual/tan or Rentman small/40% soft. As 100% super-soft, rather than dual-density, they’ll bend more than an erection, but lots of folks think they feel pretty realistic — especially in the bigger size range since you’re looking for 2″ diameter and up, then 0030 to 0040 Shore silicone has a nice fleshy feel. That’s SquarePeg’s SuperSoft silicone and Hankey’s Toys’ 40% Soft silicone.

  13. Hi Felicity,
I am curious to know what you make of the flood of Chinese made “hyper realistic” dual density dildos that have become available on Amazon during the past 12-18 months.
One company who go by the name of Reproduction or Repromgo on Amazon US or Twinice/Fanmorph on Amazon UK are selling the most astonishingly realistic looking dildos I have ever seen in more than 20 years as a collector. They are more expensive than the other Chinese brands and claim to be made from body safe liquid silicone. They have a range of over 50 different styles/models. Obviously, they are completely unregulated and come from a source which will naturally lead to suspicion. However, the reviews are mostly extremely positive in terms of appearance, texture, durability, ease of cleaning and odour. I am extremely curious to know what they are really made from and whether it can really be safe/non-toxic. Are they too good-looking to be true?!

    • It’s hard to tell, but I would assume based on some dildo samples I’ve received that they’re a peroxide cured silicone,

And they look very realistic visually in the product photos,
except that if you look closely, they have certain shiny-ness that makes them appear more like TPE, even if they’re a liquid silicone, in real life.

Another example of this that I’ve tested out is the Hismith dual-density dildos that go with their sex machines. Like, they’re pretty good, kinda lifelike, but also really stickier and slicker than is lifelike IMO, when actually using the toy.

I can also tell you based on some recent samples I’ve gotten out of China (one of which had detail just like this) that any silicone toy, no matter the finish, with that high level of pore detailing will feel draggy inside the vagina. No amount or type of lubricant will help. It’s not good at all, really really not fun.

Too much detail, ironically, actually makes a dildo feel less realistic.
(Does look awesome, though, if you like display dildos.)

  14. Hi Felicity – I wanted to share a follow up to my question regarding US-made realistic triple density. I found a brand called Valm out of Utah. Ordered the 8”. We’ve been loving it. My wife said it feels real / like mine, just a bit larger/fuller. They claim it’s made from a live model, which is a nice feature (for us, at least 😊). Any thoughts or experience with this brand? Thanks for all of your insight. Much appreciated.

    • Indie dildo shops tend to come and go so much, I will no longer recommend a shop that hasn’t been around for years with a reliable sales and review record. I don’t ever want to direct folks to a newer/unknown shop that when more than a few orders come in, has huge fulfillment delays and starts ghosting people.

The company you mentioned is importing those molds from China. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, quality-wise, it just means their “designed and made in the USA” line for those realistic dildos is a lie. Check out the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office search function to see that the brand is owned by NCO Ventures, Inc., which has been importing from China for a long time. No “in it for the love of quality products” U.S. indie-maker puts up a new site that looks that slick. If you look at this guy’s other brands, they include TPE “pocket pussys.” There’s as much chance of that brand being 100% U.S. designed & made as there is of me being a billionaire 😄

    • I haven’t encountered any hollow dildos that feel remotely realistic. There are some super-soft silicone penis extenders that feel OK, if they’re over a rock-hard erection, though the fit needs to be pretty precise there.

Overall, I personally say: either dildo or penis. Not silicone over a penis. I’m not a big fan of extenders because full-body contact makes me instinctively want actual skin feel. So, it’s either just the D or just the dildo, or alternating between the two (or watching / playing alongside while I’m using a fucking machine with a realistic dual-density (solid) dildo).

  16. Hi Felicity,
What would you recommend for a couple with ED problems? Over the years (36) premature ejaculation has gotten worse and so has our frustration. And now that we are in our early sixties (him) and late fifties (me) we are dealing with a significant loss of hardness and an extended amount of time it takes for me to get there. We are new to sex toys, so far only a little bullet has been purchased and tried out. We are looking for a realistic hollow strap-on in hopes that he won’t be the only one enjoying an orgasm.

  18. Hi, your reviews are great. Any thoughts on the B-Vibe Slipskin Realistic Silicone Dildo-9″ Curved. I am mostly interested in the curve and dual density aspect. I’ve never had one that curves down into the prostate and then upwards. Normally I get curved ones and then turn the curve appropriately towards the big P. It’s quite expensive.

    Reply
    • Well, you’re right, b-Vibe’s markup is intense for all items, and not in the good way.

The “Slipskin” aspect is their branded named for “sliding skin.” That means that the outer layer of silicone is not fully laminated (attached) to the firm core like in a normal dual-density dildo; still, “sliding skins” like this don’t move during penetration, you can only move them with your hand outside the body.

This is marketing drivel (from product description on bvibe.com), not an accurate description: ” the Slipskin Curvy is crafted from pressure-reactive silicone that slides, moves, and squishes to mimic the real experience ”

There’s nothing special or “pressure reactive” about this silicone. Silicone will never move just like living skin, because it’s a stably cured polymer. It’s not a foreskin, but it is more antimicrobial than a foreskin.

So yeah, their $155 – $185 prices are one step up from highway robbery. Those toys are worth $60 – $70 max.
