Testing the Lemon Toy vs. Rose Toys: My Experience
First: What is the “lemon toy”, actually? Also called the “Lemon vibrator,” its rapid air pulse technology stimulates the clitoris. Other names include: “Lemon suction toy,” and “Lem by Nancy” after the brand that launched a marketing campaign to reach TikTok influencers. (Their grabs at convincing u to buy a Lemon also include a Facebook ad literally saying, “In Two Weeks, The Puffiness In Your Face Will Go Down.” —Hello Nancy sponsored ad, viewed 7/4/2026.) Whaaaaat??!?
Besides *that* weirdness, I should be the first person to love the Lemon toy. I adore desserts with real lemon, I buy lemon pickles 🍋🥒 from the farmer’s market, and I even lemon-themed my dining room last year.
But those are foods… Do I need lemon-looking silicone vibrators, too? Maybe *not*: since even the best Lemon vibrators are no match for the strongest clit suction vibrators all around.
I found the Lemon toy:
- Does not seal around the clitoris as easily as my favorite Rose. The Lemon’s silicone ring should be slightly more raised, allowing a tighter connection & more pressure when desired.
- Does not feel like rumbly vibration waves running in sync with the air pulse, too – making it less effective than the Zen Rose IRL use for my body.

Lem by Hello Nancy Review
The Lem by Hello Nancy was the first hyped “lemon toy.” It retails on hellonancy’s website for $89.00 USD at the time of this writing.
It packs as much power as a lower-end Womanizer, which is decent. It’s orgasmic. Still, after 5 tests, I did not think the Hello Nancy Lem toy has the same value compared to my clitoral sucking favorite the Zen Rose ($54.99) when I wanted the fastest results.
The 8 speeds is a good number: better than the 3 speeds of a generic Rose toy. It is good for gentle warming up and gradual arousal. And on max. power, Nancy’s Lem toy matches the intensity of the cheaper Womanizer toys in 2026: Starlet 3 and Liberty.
So, it’s really nothing exceptional or innovative. Still, it is the best Lemon toy when you rate by stronger power, number of intensity levels, and easy cleaning.
ROMP Lemon Crush
The WORST Lemon toy for easy full cleaning is the ROMP Lemon Crush. Its suction mouth is not fully silicone coated. That difference is obvious when you look at the Romp’s suction “mouth” closely vs. other Lemon toys:
It concerns me that fluids can get trapped in this plastic ring, and it’s super difficult to clean out with soap. That’s true with other Womanizer and We-Vibe products, now I consider it. And though “yeast infection from not being able to clean out Womanizer” is not a known complaint, it does make their products feel outdated when most other air pulse toys let you wash with soap and water fully.
Upon further investigation, this is what a Q-tip looks like after I swabbed it over a We-Vibe Melt’s inaccessible “pulse plate” (bottom of the tunnel) after the Melt had been used for 2.5 years:
The Lemon Crush arrives with cutesy juvenile stickers (“Masturbuddy” and… juice boxes? Are they trying to sell these to 18–21 yr. olds, or to 12-year-olds?!?!?) as they urge you to shop Lovehoney if you “Want more?”
It does have 10 speeds, clearly engineered to beat Hello Nancy. This motor feels like the Womanizer Starlet 3’s (currently $65.00) but with 2 extra speeds. But the Starlet’s, and most other suction toys’, main advantage over the Lemon is that they have a better handle for gripping and holding during sex.
In contrast, the wider sphere + pointy tip of the Lemon are harder for my hand to hang onto. I prefer the flat bottom of the Rose toy so I can brace it against my hand, to apply better pressure or just let it rest comfortably.
Least-Effective Lemon Toys
First, I bought a random Lemon toy off Amazon for $25 a few months ago, just to see if it matches other brands. It was worse. (This lemon listing has now been removed, but many others remain.) Here’s how:
- It was the weakest feeling in actual testing. It did not remind me of a Womanizer or Satisfyer product, like the Hello Nancy and Romp Lemons at least do.
- It had a ring right inside the suction opening that was a tad shiny: it’s a two-part silicone mold, which may have used glue right there on the section that touches the clitoris.
So that was a loss.
Next, I tried out the “Bella Squeeze” Lemon toy by a company called Full Circle. It was so-so. It was also weaker than both the Nancy Lemon and not-fully-silicone-mouthed Romp Lemon. I wasn’t ever able to come from it. It’s possible that either A.) very sensitive users or B.) people who have never owned a stronger suction sex toy will be OK with it.
My Favorite Suction Toy vs. the Lemon Toy
The Rose toy is super-popular for a reason: these things are strong. The downside: normal Rose toys are a pain to clean, as lube gets stuck in the teensy “petal” cracks.
That’s why I was very happy to see the Zen Rose‘s wide-open petals, where I can use my fingers to soap up! Plus, its vibration feels very present and decently rumbly, too — also a big win. That’s why for the last 2 years, the Zen Rose has replaced the We-Vibe Melt 2 (review & comparison) as my most-used air pulse toy.
Zen Rose’s flat bottom rests more naturally against the palm of my hand, too — important since it stays in the right place if I want strong clit play as I use a fucking machine.
Lemon Toy Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Clit suction helps many users who struggle to climax.
- Excellent for increasing arousal before intimacy.
- Smooth silicone exterior.
Cons:
- Overly intense for users who prefer broad clitoral stimulation.
- Romp Lemon in particular is difficult to fully clean.

And as for the Lemon’s yellow color: it’s eye-catching and different – a polarizing feature. Some folks prefer classic sex toy colors: purple, pink, blue, or black for their Womanizer vs. Satisfyer vs. Sona; while others find the pastel yellow a fitting part of the Lem / Lemon toy aesthetic.
Overall, many people do find the Lemon toy fun, especially if they have never owned a “clit suction” toy before. Even as someone who loves actual lemons🍋❤️ in food, I find the Lemon’s yellow color a bit garish and prefer the Rose for a cuter look. Others will disagree: I hear you if you love bright colors!
In the end, for fast results alone, I am sticking to my Zen Rose (review) or my favorite wand toy as my go-to “Get one in before bed!” sex toys.
