I tested the G-Ride Thrill Ride against the VibePad Intense—and a clear winner emerged based on vibration quality and how comfortable it is. The G-Ride’s 10-speed range + softer silicone feel different in a good way vs. the “Intense” vibepad.
G-Ride Thrill Ride is a grinding vibrator, meaning: a vibrator you sit on for hands-free clitoral stimulation. This one’s semi-realistic shaft curves for G-spot stimulation, too. After 3 weeks owning a Thrill Ride and 8 test sessions, I’m confident in declaring it has the widest speed range of any vibrating grinder toy and is the rumbliest vibrating grinder I’ve ever tested. My Experience Testing the G-Ride Thrill Ride.
It is actually thrilling: As I move up into the Thrill Ride’s 10 increasing levels of rumbly vibration, and as its silicone proves soft enough to ride or rock on—never feeling “rock hard” or stabby.
Through repeated testing, it gave me full body shaking climaxes, consistently. What makes the G-Ride Thrill Ride a notch above is:
- Better vibration (deeper, good resonance; in 2 motors) with more choices: 10 speeds. Other grinding vibrators have just 3 speeds and 7 “all over the place” patterns.
- Thicker, semi-soft silicone is more comfortable to ride than firm silicone.
- Shaft is not too long: at 3.75 inches, it reaches the G-spot easily but isn’t so long it pokes at the cervix, ever.
The dual motors in this grinding vibrator are jointly controlled. Together, they create 6 layered frequency bands (2 primary, each with 2 harmonics) under 200 Hertz. This accounts for the “rumbly” and “resonant” feel — and practically, what that stacked vibration does is make even my nipples tingle as I’m sitting on top of the G-Ride Thrill Ride.
My body finds the vibration builds intensity quickly. Even turning it up 2 speeds (to speed #3 out of 10) makes me feel very ready, as my G-spot and clitoris become responsive together. The clitoral bump is nicely rippled: I find it more comfy than the Intense VibePad (compared next).
The shaft is a medium girth and a shorter length, and it’s a light pressure focused on my G-spot as I ride on. It’s a big contrast from the long length of my favorite grinding dildo toy, which takes more prep. to insert fully (and sometimes is just too long, like around my period).

The silicone tests at a 5–6A Shore durometer (firmness measurement for silicone sex toys), and it’s successful at not conjuring up visions of solid rock as my clit is pressed down over the Thrill Ride’s stimulating hump. Still, it is not the purely squishy level of silicone like a 100% silicone grinder toy can be. Overall: The motor under the shaft makes the Thrill Ride most like a firm dual-density dildo: one that’s soft but not VixSkin-level squishy.
G-Ride Thrill Ride Pros & Cons
The G-Ride Thrill Ride by CalExotics is a grinding vibrator made of body-safe silicone that’s waterproof, rechargeable, and 1-year warranty’ed.
Pros:
- Wider vibration range than most grinding vibrators: 10 speeds instead of the usual 3 speeds.
- Deep, rumbly vibration with noticeable resonance – not buzzy surface-level stimulation.
- Softer silicone makes it more comfortable to grind on, for both short-term & longer usage.
- Curved shaft and clitoral stimulator work well together for blended stimulation.
- Shorter shaft length reaches the G-spot easily, without feeling overly long or pokey.
- Body-safe silicone, waterproof design, and USB rechargeability.
Cons:
- Not ideal for bodies that prefer deeper penetration or hard internal pressure (this toy’s shaft offers ~3.75″ length and is slightly flexible).
- Semi-soft silicone is comfortable, but not as plush or squishy as softer fantasy-style grinders.
- The clitoral stimulator may not line up well for anyone whose clitoris sits farther from the vaginal opening: Thrill Ride’s clit stimulator extends 1.8″.
The average G-spot is located ~ 3 inches inside, so this shaft length is made to fit most bodies (but is not designed for folks who want consistently deeper pressure).
Thrill Ride vs. VibePad Intense
The Thrill Ride vibrator possesses a vibrating motor I’d call energetic. It’s more like the (now discontinued) Bump & Grind vibrator by the same company, CalExotics, that I gave top marks for vibration power vs. other vibrating grinder toys. CalExotics’ grinders compete strongly with the VibePad series by Orion Toys.
Among the VibePads, the Intense VibePad (review) became the strongest model last year, so I put it to the test directly against the Thrill Ride. After 3 side-by-side sessions, here are the head-to-head differences:
| Feature | Thrill Ride | Intense VibePad |
|---|---|---|
| 🖐 Material Feel | Semi-soft, gentler, more yielding | Very firm, rigid, unyielding |
| 🎯 Stimulation Type | Blended (G-spot + clitoral) | External-focused (clitoral), shallow only |
| ⚙️ Speed Options | 🏆 10 speeds (high adjustability) | 3 speeds (limited range) |
| ⚡ Motor Balance | Even strength (internal + external) | ⚠️ Uneven (main hump much stronger) |
| 💖 Best For | ✔️ Blended stimulation ✔️ Softer riding feel ✔️ Wide intensity range ✔️ Easier cleanup | ✔️ Firm pressure lovers ✔️ Strong external focus ✔️ Longer reach design |
| 🚫 **Not** Ideal For | ❌ Longer clit-to-vaginal distance (>1.8″) ❌ Those who dislike internal stimulation | ❌ Fans of soft/realistic feel ❌ Those wanting more speeds ❌ Deep or rumby vibration seekers |
For my body, the Thrill Ride has a huge advantage, with its increased softness and curved G-spot-seeking shaft. But, since preferences vary by person, the Thrill Ride is unlikely to be as good for folks who dislike G-spot stimulation, or those who require really hard clitoral pressure (similar to grinding against a nightstand corner).
How to Use the Thrill Ride Vibrator by CalExotics
I’ve found 3 positions that are most effective for the Thrill Ride:
- Upright on a chair. You can either sit up straight (for more G-spot precision) or lean backward (for lazier usage).
- Over 2–3 pillows (upright). Sitting on top in a “cowgirl” position allows for the most clitoral rubbing stimulation.
- Leaning forward while riding on top (also over pillows). This final position is my best for full-body success, as leaning forward makes the curved shaft arc into the G-spot most strongly; meanwhile, the clitoral stimulator remains a stationary pressure.
The Thrill Ride also has a suction cup base. It sticks well to my bathtub edge, and can be sat down upon in the bath. (I simply prefer “on top of cushy pillows” type positions for max. comfort.)
How to Care for Your Thrill Ride: Cleaning & Recharging
The battery life lasts me 3 or 4 sessions before I need to recharge the Thrill Ride. I’ve tested it as 75 minutes per charge.
It recharges via an insertable prong charging cable (of course included in the product’s box). You stick the cable into the underside of the Thrill Ride’s base, where a circle is located to show the right spot.
To clean and maintain the G-Ride Thrill Ride long-term, you’ll need only soap and water. Silicone is functionally nonporous and antimicrobial, and it will not crack like lesser materials. More in: How to clean body-safe sex toys.
Final Verdict on the G-Ride Thrill Ride by CalExotics
The Thrill Ride grinder is is the rumbliest grinding vibrator I’ve tested. It’s worth picking up if you want blended stimulation you can rock and rub on — without deep penetration.
Overall, it’s best for people who prioritize hands-free dual vibration + G-spot riding over depth. It’s just easy to sit on. But, I wouldn’t recommend this toy to people who like their cervix pressed into, since it doesn’t reach that far in.
Personally, I’d pick this Gspot grinder any day of the week over the external only VibePads (that’s: the VibePad original and VibePad Intense). The way the Thrill Ride adds G-spot stimulation is more arousing, it has more vibration choices, and it’s more comfortable to ride hard on its softer silicone.

| Orgasms per dollar value: The way the rumbles travel from G-spot to clit and up my torso have made this my top vibrating grinder ever tested. Fairly strong, but really resonant vibration and with 10 levels (feels like so much more). Love the softer silicone, so much more natural-feeling. Semi-realistic stimulation; reaches G-spot but not the full vagina. | 4.85 |
| User experience/ Ease of use: Much more comfortable to sit on the thick semi-soft silicone: not abrasive. Comfortable shaft length doesn’t poke. Semi-flexible means it bends well with me, but is good G-spot pressure when leaning forward. Only downside: No remote control (you use the power button on the front of the base to increase speed). | 4.8 |

Thanks for the review! Would you, or your partner, have an opinion on if this could work for prostate stim? The insertable length looks about perfect for it.
Good question, we’ll get back to this comment next week. Because the clitoral stimulator isn’t extremely raised up here, it should be workable for resting on the perineum – versus a number of penetrating grinders I’ve seen in the last year where I guess the person using it is supposed to be leaning backward (instead of sitting flat on top) with how elevated the “clitoral hump” is.
Just ordered one. CalExotics has really stepped their game. I bought a Calexotics “Stroke It” silicone male stroker recently and it’s by far the best stroker yet, and I bought way too many through the years. Have you checked out blissfullcreations.com? Custom made silicone penis sleeves, custom made internal depth, colors, and softness levels. Me and the wife have had a blast with these, bought 4 of them so far.
